1Effects of dietary protein/energy ratio on growth performance,carcass trait,meat quality,and plasma metabolites in pigs of different genotypes显示文摘Background:The protein/energy ratio is important for the production performance and utilization of available feed resources by animals.Increased protein consumption by mammals leads to elevated feed costs and increased nitrogen release into the environment.This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary protein/energy ratio on the growth performance,carcass traits,meat quality,and plasma metabolites of pigs of different genotypes.Methods:Bama mini-pigs and Landrace pigs were randomly assigned to two dietary treatment groups(Chinese conventional diet with low protein/energy ratio or National Research Council diet with high protein/energy ratio;n = 24 per treatment) in a 2x2 factorial arrangement.Blood and muscle samples were collected at the end of the nursery,growing,and finishing phases.Results:We observed significant interactions(P< 0.05) between breed and diet for total fat percentage,intramuscular fat(IMF) content,protein content in biceps femoris(BF) muscle,and plasma urea nitrogen(UN) concentration in the nursery phase;for average daily gain(ADG),average daily feed intake(ADFI),dry matter,IMF content in psoas major(PM) muscle,and plasma total protein and albumin concentrations in the growing phase;and for drip loss and plasma UN concentration in the finishing phase.Breed influenced(P < 0.05) growth performance,carcass traits,and meat quality,but not plasma metabolites.Throughout the trial,Landrace pigs showed significantly higher(P < 0.05) ADG,ADFI,dressing percentage,lean mass rate,and loin-eye area than did Bama mini-pigs,but significantly lower(P< 0.05)feed/gain ratio,fat percentage,backfat thickness,and IMF content.Dietary protein/energy ratio influenced the pH value,chemical composition of BF and PM muscles,and plasma activities of glutamic-pyruvic transaminase and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase,and plasma concentration of UN.Conclusions:Compared with Landrace pigs,Bama mini-pigs showed slower growth and lower carcass performance,but had better meat quality.Moreover,unlike Landrace pigs,the dietary protein/energy ratio did not affect the growth performance of Bama mini-pigs.These results suggest that,in swine production,low dietary protein/energy ratio may be useful for reducing feed costs and minimizing the adverse effects of ammonia release into the environment.Yingying Liu Xiangfeng Kong Guoli Jiang Bi'e Tan Jinping Deng Xiaojian Yang Fengna Li Xia Xiong Yulong Yin 2015Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,4:37
2Standards of Ecological Compensation for Traditional Ecoagriculture:Taking Rice-Fish System in Hani Terrace as an Example显示文摘Traditional eco-agriculture provides many ecosystem services which are important for the local environment, especially in mountain areas. In order to encourage the farmers to engage in eco-agriculture,it is necessary to establish an eco-compensation mechanism for them. As the compensation standard is one of key issues in establishing eco-compensation mechanism, this paper calculated the standard based on the farmers' willingness to accept(WTA) and the input-output analysis of eco-compensation. We took the traditional rice-fish eco-agriculture as the research object, conducting field surveys in Hani Terrace of Honghe County. Through the questionnaires in 2011, we obtained the farmers' willingness to accept government compensation and market compensation. Then, the research evaluated the output of eco-compensation, the economic value of rice-fish paddy ecosystem services. Finally, under different market compensation standards, we compared the input and output of government compensation. The results show that, in 2011 the government should to pay farmers 7462 yuan·ha–1·a-1to meet their willingness, but the output(ecological benefit) was only 7393 yuan·ha–1·a-1. 3Inkjet printing for flexible electronics:Materials,processes and equipments显示文摘Inkjet printing, known as digital writing technique, can directly deposit functional materials to form pattern onto substrate. This paper provides an overview of inkjet printing technologies for flexible electronics. Firstly, we highlight materials challenges in implementing flexible devices into practical application, especially for inkjet printing process. Then the micro/nano-patterning technologies of inkjet printing are discussed, including conventional inkjet printing techniques and electrohydrodynamic printing techniques. Thirdly, the related equipments on inkjet printing are shown. Finally, challenges for its future development are also discussed. 4Delayed ethyl pyruvate therapy attenuates experimental severe acute pancreatitis via reduced serum high mobility group box 1 levels in rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of delayed ethyl pyruvate (EP) delivery on distant organ injury, survival time and serum high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) levels in rats with experimental severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). METHODS: A SAP model was induced by retrograde injection of artificial bile into the pancreatic ducts of rats. Animals were divided randomly into three groups (n = 32 in each group): sham group, SAP group and delayed EP treatment group. The rats in the delayed EP treatment group received EP (30 mg/kg) at 12 h, 18 h and 30 h after induction of SAP. Animals were sacrificed, and samples were obtained at 24 h and 48 h after induction of SAP. Serum HMGB1, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine (Cr) levels were measured. Lung wet-to-dry-weight (W/D) ratios and histological scores were calculated to evaluate lung injury. Additional experiments were performed between SAP and delayed EP treatment groups to study the in? uence of EP on survival times of SAP rats. RESULTS: Delayed EP treatment significantly reduced serum HMGB1 levels, and protected against liver, renal and lung injury with reduced lung W/D ratios (8.22 ±0.42 vs 9.76 ± 0.45, P < 0.01), pulmonary histological scores (7.1 ± 0.7 vs 8.4 ± 1.1, P < 0.01), serum AST (667 ± 103 vs 1 368 ± 271, P < 0.01), ALT (446 ± 91 vs 653 ± 98, P < 0.01) and Cr (1.2 ± 0.3 vs 1.8 ± 0.3, P < 0.01) levels. SAP rats had a median survival time of 44 h. Delayed EP treatment signifi cantly prolonged median survival time to 72 h (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Delayed EP therapy protects against distant organ injury and prolongs survival time via reduced serum HMGB1levels in rats with experimental SAP. 6Effect of dietary soy oil, glucose, and glutamine on growth performance, amino acid profile, blood profile, immunity, and antioxidant capacity in weaned piglets显示文摘Weaning stress results in gastrointestinal dysfunction and depressed performance in pigs. This study aimed to investigate the effect of soy oil, glucose, and glutamine on the growth and health of weaned piglets. Compared with those in the glutamine group, piglets in the glucose and soy oil groups had greater average daily gain, average daily feed intake, and gain: feed ratio from day 0 to 14, and gain: feed ratio for the overall period. There were no differences with regard to serum amino acids among the three groups on day 14, except glycine and threonine. The serum concentration of histidine, serine, threonine, proline, and cysteine was the highest in the glutamine group, while the content of glycine and lysine in the soy oil group on day 28 was the highest among all groups. Piglets fed with glutamine had greater serum glucose and creatinine on day 14, high-density lipoprotein on day 28, and serum IgG and IgM on day 28. Piglets in the glutamine group demonstrated lower serum total superoxide dismutase on day 14 and 28; however, they demonstrated higher total superoxide dismutase and total antioxidant capacity in the duodenum and ileum on day 14. 7T cell–associated immunoregulation and antiviral effect of oxymatrine in hydrodynamic injection HBV mouse model显示文摘Although oxymatrine(OMT) has been shown to directly inhibit the replication of hepatitis B virus(HBV) in vitro, limited research has been done with this drug in vivo. In the present study, the antiviral effect of OMT was investigated in an immunocompetent mouse model of chronic HBV infection.The infection was achieved by tail vein injection of a large volume of DNA solution. OMT(2.2, 6.7 and20 mg/kg) was administered by daily intraperitoneal injection for 6 weeks. The efficacy of OMT was evaluated by the levels of HBV DNA, hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag), hepatitis B e antigen(HBe Ag)and hepatitis B core antigen(HBc Ag). The immunoregulatory activity of OMT was evaluated by serum ELISA and flow cytometry. Results shows that OMT at 20 mg/kg inhibited HBV replication, and it was more efficient than entecavir(ETV) in the elimination of serum HBs Ag and intrahepatic HBc Ag. Inaddition, OMT accelerated the production of interferon-γ(IFN-γ) in a dose-dependent manner in CD4^+T cells. Our findings demonstrate the beneficial effects of OMT on the enhancement of immunological function and in the control of HBV antigens. 8Severity of acute gastrointestinal injury grade is a good predictor of mortality in critically ill patients with acute pancreatitis显示文摘BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal(GI)dysfunction is a common and important complication of acute pancreatitis(AP),especially in patients with severe AP.Despite this,there is no consensus means of obtaining a precise assessment of GI function.AIM To determine the association between acute gastrointestinal injury(AGI)grade and clinical outcomes in critically ill patients with AP.METHODS Patients with AP admitted to our pancreatic intensive care unit from May 2017 to May 2019 were enrolled.GI function was assessed according to the AGI grade proposed by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine in 2012,which is mainly based on GI symptoms,intra-abdominal pressure,and feeding intolerance in the first week of admission to the intensive care unit.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to assess the association between AGI grade and clinical outcomes in critically ill patients with AP.RESULTS Among the 286 patients included,the distribution of patients with various AGI grades was 34.62%with grade I,22.03%with grade II,32.52%with grade III,and 10.84%with grade IV.The distribution of mortality was 0%among those with grade I,6.35%among those with grade II,30.11%among those with grade III,and 61.29%among those with grade IV,and AGI grade was positively correlated with mortality(χ2=31.511,P<0.0001).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age,serum calcium level,AGI grade,persistent renal failure,and persistent circulatory failure were independently associated with mortality.Compared with the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II score(area under the curve:0.739 vs 0.854;P<0.05)and Ranson score(area under the curve:0.72 vs 0.854;P<0.01),the AGI grade was more useful for predicting mortality.CONCLUSION AGI grade is useful for identifying the severity of GI dysfunction and can be used as a predictor of mortality in critically ill patients with AP.Ling Ding Hong-Yan Chen Jin-Yun Wang Hui-Fang Xiong Wen-Hua He Liang Xia Nong-Hua Lu Yin Zhu 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,5:20

12Ureaplasma urealyticum infection and apoptosis of spermatogenic cells显示文摘Aim: To study the relationship between ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) infection and apoptosis of human spennato-genie cells. Methods: Spermatogenic cells were observed under light microscope with Wright-Giemsa staining andby means of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated deoxyuridine triphosphate (dUTP)-biotin nick-end labeling(TUNEL) technique. Results: Apoptotic rate of UU-infected males ( 15.5%±6.8% ) was significantly higherthan that of controls (5.2%±2.3 % ). 14Series-parallel Hybrid Vehicle Control Strategy Design and Optimization Using Real-valued Genetic Algorithm显示文摘Despite the series-parallel hybrid electric vehicle inherits the performance advantages from both series and parallel hybrid electric vehicle, few researches about the series-parallel hybrid electric vehicle have been revealed because of its complex construction and control strategy. In this paper, a series-parallel hybrid electric bus as well as its control strategy is revealed, and a control parameter optimization approach using the real-valued genetic algorithm is proposed. The optimization objective is to minimize the fuel consumption while sustain the battery state of charge, a tangent penalty function of state of charge(SOC) is embodied in the objective function to recast this multi-objective nonlinear optimization problem as a single linear optimization problem. For this strategy, the vehicle operating mode is switched based on the vehicle speed, and an 'optimal line' typed strategy is designed for the parallel control. The optimization parameters include the speed threshold for mode switching, the highest state of charge allowed, the lowest state of charge allowed and the scale factor of the engine optimal torque to the engine maximum torque at a rotational speed. They are optimized through numerical experiments based on real-value genes, arithmetic crossover and mutation operators. The hybrid bus has been evaluated at the Chinese Transit Bus City Driving Cycle via road test, in which a control area network-based monitor system was used to trace the driving schedule. The test result shows that this approach is feasible for the control parameter optimization. 16Studies on photo-electro-chemical catalytic degradation of acid scarlet 3R dye显示文摘A new type of photo-electro-chemical catalytic reactor was designed.Cathode and anode of the new reactor were made of high-purity graphite and titanium dioxide electrode re-spectively.A saturated calomel electrode (SCE) was used as the reference electrode.Under the condition of ultraviolet radiation and anodic bias-voltage,acid scarlet 3R was degraded by the process of photoelectrocatalysis with titanium dioxide electrode in anodic compartment,while it was degraded by electrogenerated Fenton’s reagent and hydrogen peroxide through reducing dissolved oxygen with graphite electrode in catholyte.The new reactor made the best use of photogenerated holes and photogenerated charge on the anode of the new reactor,which achieved the purpose of degrading acid scarlet 3R in the cathodic and anodic compartments simultaneously,i.e.“two electrodes and double effect”.The experimental results showed that,compared with other photoelectrocatalysis reactors (“two electrodes and single effect” reactor),the new reactor has obviously enhanced the degradation of acid scarlet 3R dye.With the con-centration of the dye being 30 mg·L?1 in water,under the operating conditions that when the inert supporting electrolyte concentration was 0.02 mol·L?1 sodium sulfate,initial solution pH = 3,and cathodic potential ?Ec = 0.66 V,the highest decolorizing efficiency of 92% was accomplished in cathodic compartment,and that of 60% in anodic compartment.LI Mingyu1,XIONG Lin1,CHEN Yunyun2,ZHANG Na1,ZHANG Yuanming2 & YIN Hua1 1.Department of Environmental Engineering,Jinan University,Guangzhou 510630,China 2.Department of Chemistry,Jinan University,Guangzhou 510630,China 2005Science China Chemistry2005,48,4:13
17Cloning and characterization of a potato StAN11 gene involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis regulation显示文摘Anthocyanins are a class of products of plant secondary metabolism and are responsible for tubers color in potato.The biosynthesis of anthocyanins is a complex Researchbiological process,in which multiple genes are involved including structural genes and regulatory genes.In this study,StAN11,a WD40-repeat gene,was cloned from potato cultivar Chieftain(Solanum tuberosum L.).StAN11(HQ599506)contained no intron and its open reading frame(ORF)was 1,029 bp long,encoding a putative protein of 342 amino acids.In order to verify its role in anthocyanin biosynthesis,StAN11 was inserted behind the CaMV-35S promoter of pCMBIA1304 and the recombination vector was introduced into the potato cultivar Désirée plants by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation.The color of transgenic tuber skin was significantly deepened,compared to the wild-type control,which was highly consistent with the accumulation of anthocyanin and expression of StAN11 in transgenic lines tuber skin.Further analysis on the expression of Flavonone-3-hydroxylase(F3H),Dihydroflavonol reductase(DFR),Anthocyanidin synthase(ANS),and Flavonoid 3-O-glucosyl transferase(3GT)in transgenic plants revealed that only DFR was upregulated.This result suggested that StAN11 regulated anthocyanin biosynthesis in potato by controlling DFR expression and accumulation of anthocyanin could be increased through overexpression of StAN11 in the tubers with the genetic background of anthocyanin biosynthesis.Wang Li Bing Wang Man Wang Min Chen Jing-Ming Yin Ghullam Murtaza Kaleri Rui-Jie Zhang Tie-Niu Zuo Xiong You Qing Yang 2014Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2014,56,4:13
18Reproductive management through integration of PGD and MPS-based noninvasive prenatal screening/diagnosis for a family with GJB2-associated hearing impairment显示文摘A couple with a proband child of GJB2(encoding the gap junction protein connexin 26)-associated hearing impairment and a previous pregnancy miscarriage sought for a reproductive solution to bear a healthy child. Our study aimed to develop a customized preconception-to-neonate care trajectory to fulfill this clinical demand by integrating preimplantation genetic diagnosis(PGD), noninvasive prenatal testing(NIPT), and noninvasive prenatal diagnosis(NIPD) into the strategy. Auditory and genetic diagnosis of the proband child was carried out to identify the disease causative mutations. The couple then received in-vitro-fertilization treatment, and eight embryos were obtained for day 5 biopsy. PGD was performed by short-tandem-repeat linkage analysis and Sanger sequencing of GJB2 gene. Transfer of a GJB2 c.235del C heterozygous embryo resulted in a singleton pregnancy. At the 13 th week of gestation, genomic DNA(g DNA) from the trio family and cell-free DNA(cf DNA) from maternal plasma were obtained for assessment of fetal chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2 mutations. NIPT and NIPD showed the absence of chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2-associated disease in the fetus, which was later confirmed by invasive procedures and postnatal genetic/auditory diagnosis. 19Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 20Damage of nasal mucociliary movement after intensity-modulated radiation therapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Background and Objective:Radiation usually results in paranasal sinusitis in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), which influences patients' quality of life.This study aimed to determine the relationships between dose distribution in the nasal cavity and nasal mucous injury in patients with NPC treated by intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and to find the tolerable radiation dose for the nasal mucous.Methods:Sixty-six patients with NPC treated by IMRT between October 2006 and November 2008 were enrolled.The irradiation dose in the nasal cavity was determined by the computer with the IMRT work platform.Mucociliary transport rate (MTR) was detected by modified saccharine test before IMRT, at the end of IMRT, and at 3, 6, and 12 months after IMRT.Results:The data were available for 129 nasal cavities.The cavities receiving a mean dose below or equal to 37 Gy showed substantial preservation of nasal mucous after IMRT.The MRT decreased to (62.82±38.59)%, (56.78±37.79)%, (64.05±39.37)%, and (71.13±39.55)% of pre-IMRT value at 4 time points after IMRT, with significant differences among the data (P<0.05).In contrast, when the cavities received a mean dose higher than 37 Gy, no significant differences in MTR among the time points were observed.At 3 months after IMRT, the MTR was the lowest (38.27% of pre-RT value).Conclusions:A mean radiation dose of ≤37 Gy for the nasal cavity is an optimal dose to protect the nasal cavity function.Gen-Di Yin Guan-Xia Xiong Chong Zhao Yuan-Yuan Chen 2010Chinese Journal of Cancer2010,29,9:10
