1Dietary garcinol supplementation improves diarrhea and intestinal barrier function associated with its modulation of gut microbiota in weaned piglets显示文摘Background:The effects of dietary garcinol on diarrhea and intestinal barrier function associated with its modulation of gut microbiota in weaned piglets were investigated.Method:One hundred forty four weaned piglets(Duroc×Yorkshire×Landrace)from 16 pens(9 piglets per pen)were randomly divided into four treatment groups:controls(CON)or those supplemented with 200 mg/kg(LOW),400 mg/kg(MID),or 600 mg/kg(HIGH)diet garcinol.After 14-day trial,three piglets per pen were chosen to collect plasma,intestinal tissue and colonic digesta samples.Results:We demonstrated for the first time that garcinol promoted growth performance,as increased average daily feed intake(ADFI)and decreased feed/gain ratio(F/G);and reduced diarrhea incidence(P<0.05);and strengthened antioxidant capacity,as an increased antioxidative index(P<0.05).Additionally,garcinol ameliorated intestinal barrier dysfunction,as an increased villus height to crypt depth ratio,increased zonula occludens protein 1(ZO-1),occludin and claudin-1 expression in the jejunum and ileum(P<0.05),and decreased intestinal permeability(P<0.05);and reduced inflammation,as decreased cytokine interleukin(IL)-6,IL-10,IL-1βand tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)levels in the mucosa of the jejunum and ileum,and NF-κB p65 translocation(P<0.05).Moreover,garcinol inhibited the growth of most harmful bacteria in the gut,especially Escherichia coli,and increased the growth of the beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus.Conclusion:This work provides a fundamental basis for the future development of garcinol-functional food use for improving diarrhea and intestinal barrier function in weaned piglets and for understanding the biological effects of garcinol and its potential as a functional feed additive.Tongxin Wang Weilei Yao Juan Li Yafei Shao Qiongyu He Jun Xia Feiruo Huang 2020Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2020,11,3:8
2A review of rockburst:Experiments,theories,and simulations显示文摘Rockburst is becoming a huge challenge for the utilization of deep underground space.Extensive efforts have been devoted to investigating the rockburst behavior and mechanism experimentally,theoretically,and numerically.The aim of this review is to discuss the novel development and the state-of-the-art in experimental techniques,theories,and numerical approaches proposed for rockburst.The definition and classification of rockburst are first summarized with an in-depth comparison among them.Then,the available laboratory experimental technologies for rockburst are reviewed in terms of indirect and direct approaches,with the highlight of monitoring technologies and data analysis methods.Some key rockburst influencing factors(i.e.size and shape,rock types,stress state,water content,and temperature)are analyzed and discussed based on collected data.After that,rockburst theories and mechanisms are discussed and evaluated,as well as the microscopic observation.The simulation approaches of rockburst are also summarized with the highlight of optional novel numerical methods.The accuracy,stability,and reliability of different experimental,theoretical and numerical approaches are also compared and assessed in each part.Finally,a summary and some aspects of prospective research are presented.Manchao He Tai Cheng Yafei Qiao Hongru Li 2023Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2023,15,5:6
3Discrimination of False Negative Results in RT-PCR Detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNAs in Clinical Specimens by Using an Internal Reference显示文摘Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)is an essential method for specific diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.Unfortunately,false negative test results are often reported.In this study,we attempted to determine the principal causes leading to false negative results of RT-PCR detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNAs in respiratory tract specimens.Multiple sputum and throat swab specimens from 161 confirmed COVID-19 patients were tested with a commercialfluorescent RT-PCR kit targeting the ORF1 ab and N regions of SARS-CoV-2 genome.The RNA level of a cellular housekeeping gene ribonuclease P/MRP subunit p30(RPP30)in these specimens was also assessed by RT-PCR.Data for a total of 1052 samples were retrospectively re-analyzed and a strong association between positive results in SARS-CoV-2 RNA tests and high level of RPP30 RNA in respiratory tract specimens was revealed.By using the ROC-AUC analysis,we identified Ct cutoff values for RPP30 RT-PCR which predicted false negative results for SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR with high sensitivity(95.03%–95.26%)and specificity(83.72%–98.55%)for respective combination of specimen type and ampli-fication reaction.Using these Ct cutoff values,false negative results could be reliably identified.Therefore,the presence of cellular materials,likely infected host cells,are essential for correct SARS-CoV-2 RNA detection by RT-PCR in patient specimens.RPP30 could serve as an indicator for cellular content,or a surrogate indicator for specimen quality.In addition,our results demonstrated that false negativity accounted for a vast majority of contradicting results in SARS-CoV-2 RNA test by RT-PCR.Yafei Zhang Changtai Wang Mingfeng Han Jun Ye Yong Gao Zhongping Liu Tengfei He Tuantuan Li Mengyuan Xu Luping Zhou Guizhou Zou Mengji Lu Zhenhua Zhang 2020Virologica Sinica2020,35,6:5

5STABC-IR:An air target intention recognition method based on bidirectional gated recurrent unit and conditional random field with space-time attention mechanism显示文摘The battlefield environment is changing rapidly,and fast and accurate identification of the tactical intention of enemy targets is an important condition for gaining a decision-making advantage.The current Intention Recognition(IR)method for air targets has shortcomings in temporality,interpretability and back-and-forth dependency of intentions.To address these problems,this paper designs a novel air target intention recognition method named STABC-IR,which is based on Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit(Bi GRU)and Conditional Random Field(CRF)with Space-Time Attention mechanism(STA).First,the problem of intention recognition of air targets is described and analyzed in detail.Then,a temporal network based on Bi GRU is constructed to achieve the temporal requirement.Subsequently,STA is proposed to focus on the key parts of the features and timing information to meet certain interpretability requirements while strengthening the timing requirements.Finally,an intention transformation network based on CRF is proposed to solve the back-and-forth dependency and transformation problem by jointly modeling the tactical intention of the target at each moment.The experimental results show that the recognition accuracy of the jointly trained STABC-IR model can reach 95.7%,which is higher than other latest intention recognition methods.STABC-IR solves the problem of intention transformation for the first time and considers both temporality and interpretability,which is important for improving the tactical intention recognition capability and has reference value for the construction of command and control auxiliary decision-making system.Siyuan WANG Gang WANG Qiang FU Yafei SONG Jiayi LIU Sheng HE 2023Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,3:4

7Assessment of Changes in the Cesarean Scar and Uterus Between One and Two Years after Cesarean Section Using 3D T2w SPACE MRI显示文摘Objective Io evaluate changes in morphology of the cesarean scar and uterus between one and two years after cesarean section using high-resolution,three dimensional T2-weighted sampling perfection with application optimized contrast using diflerent flip angle evolutions Magnetic Resonance Imaging(3DT2w SPACE MRI).Methods This prospective study was performed to investigate morphological changes in the cesarean scars and uterus from one to two years after cesarean section using high-resolution,3D T2w SPACE MRI.The healthy volunteers having no childbearing history were recruited as the controls.All data were measured by two experienced radiologists.All data with normal distribution between the one-year and two-year groups were compared using a paired-sample t test or independent t test.Results Finally,46 women took a pelvic MR examination one year after cesarean section,and a subset of 15 completed the same examination again after two years of cesarean section.Both the uterine length and the anterior wall thickness after two years of cesarean section(5.75±0.46 and 1.45±0.35 cm)were significantly greater than those measured at one year(5.33±0.59 and 1.25±0.27 cm)(t=-2.363 and-2.175,P=0.033 and 0.048).No significant difference was shown in myometrial thickness two years after cesarean section(1.45±0.35 cm)with respect to the control group(1.58±0.21 cm,P=0.170).Nine women who underwent MRI twice were considered to have scar diverticula one year after cesarean section,and still had diverticula two years after cesarean section.The thickness,height,and width of the uterine scar showed no significant change from one to two years(all P>0.05).Conclusions 3D T2w SPACE MRI provides overall morphologic details and shows dynamic changes in the scar and the uterus between one and two years after cesarean section.Scar morphology after cesarean section reached relatively stable one year after cesarean section,and uterine morphology was closer to normal two years after cesarean section.Yafei Qi Yonglan He Ning Ding Liangkun Ma Tianyi Qian Yuan Li Huadan Xue Zhengyu Jin 2022Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2022,37,2:3

9Selective electrochemical production of hydrogen peroxide at zigzag edges of exfoliated molybdenum telluride nanoflakes显示文摘The two-electron reduction of molecular oxygen represents an effective strategy to enable the green,mild and on-demand synthesis of hydrogen peroxide.Its practical viability,however,hinges on the development of advanced electrocatalysts,preferably composed of non-precious elements,to selectively expedite this reaction,particularly in acidic medium.Our study here introduces 2H-MoTe2 for the first time as the efficient non-precious-metal-based electrocatalyst for the electrochemical production ofhydrogen peroxide in acids.We show that exfoliated 2H-MoTe2 nanoflakes have high activity(onset overpotential〜140 mV and large mass activity of 27 A g^-1 at 0.4 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode),great selectivity(H2O2 percentage up to 93%)and decent stability in 0.5 M H2SO4.Theoretical simulations evidence that the high activity and selectivity of 2H-MoTe2 arise from the proper binding energies of HOO*and O*at its zigzag edges that jointly favor the two-electron reduction instead of the four-electron reduction of molecular oxygen.Xuan Zhao Yu Wang Yunli Da Xinxia Wang Tingting Wang Mingquan Xu Xiaoyun He Wu Zhou Yafei Li Jonathan NColeman Yanguang Li 2020National Science Review2020,7,8:3
10Structural Damage Recognition Based on Perturbations of Curvature Mode Shape and Frequency显示文摘A new method for structural damage identification is presented based on perturbations of curvature mode shape and frequency.Firstly,the structure's mass and stiffness matrices are expressed as functions of its elements'physical parameters,which reflect their damage states. According to differences in the curvature mode shape of the structure in undamaged and damaged states,possible damage equations and determined damage equations are established and used to solve for the elements'damage parameters.Then,to ensure the accuracy of the recognition result,a reasonable solution is substituted into a damage-checking equation based on the change of frequency of the damaged structure.Numerical examples are used to show that,to identify the damage,only one order mode needs to be tested.When the degree of damage is low, first-order perturbation equations can be used to recognize the damage with sufficient accuracy. 13Longitudinal mechanical response of tunnels under active normal faulting显示文摘This paper aims to clarify the mechanism of the longitudinal response of a tunnel under normal faulting via a comprehensive analysis of available experimental data and numerical simulations.Four 1 g condition model tests were reviewed and reanalysed to highlight the key characteristics of the tunnel response under normal faulting:S-shaped deformation and inverted S-shaped bending strain distribution in the longitudinal direction;the main affected zone of faulting is approximately six times the tunnel diameter to the fault plane.A threedimensional finite element model was also established and verified,followed by a sensitivity analysis of key parameters,including the fault dislocation,dip angle,tunnel rigidity and relative stiffness between the hanging wall and footwall.All results reveal that the longitudinal mechanical response under normal faulting is dominated by a combination of bending,tension,and shearing.Bending and shearing are induced by the large unbalanced rock pressure at the vault in the hanging wall and the inverted arch in the footwall;the value of unbalanced rock pressure is directly proportional to the dislocation but negatively correlated with the dip angle.Although the main part of the tunnel stays in tension,axial compressive strain exists around the fault plane when the dip angle is greater than 70 °,which may be related to the ovaling effect of the tunnel.Such an ovaling effect is caused by the compression at the cross-section of the tunnel and may lead to more complicated internal strain.Yafei Qiao Jie Tang Guozhao Liu Manchao He 2022Underground Space2022,7,4:2

19Whole-genome resequencing of the wheat A subgenome progenitor Triticum urartu provides insights into its demographic history and geographic adaptation显示文摘Triticum urartu is the progenitor of the A subgenome in tetraploid and hexaploid wheat.Uncovering the landscape of genetic variations in T.urartu will help us understand the evolutionary and polyploid characteristics of wheat.Here,we investigated the population genomics of T.urartu by genome-wide sequencing of 59 representative accessions collected around the world.A total of 42.2 million highquality single-nucleotide polymorphisms and 3 million insertions and deletions were obtained by mapping reads to the reference genome.The ancient T.urartu population experienced a significant reduction in effective population size(Ne)from3000000 to140000 and subsequently split into eastern Mediterranean coastal and Mesopotamian-Transcaucasian populations during the Younger Dryas period.A map of allelic drift paths displayed splits and mixtures between different geographic groups,and a strong genetic drift towards hexaploid wheat was also observed,indicating that the direct donor of the A subgenome originated from northwestern Syria.Genetic changes were revealed between the eastern Mediterranean coastal and Mesopotamian-Transcaucasian populations in genes orthologous to those regulating plant development and stress responses.A genome-wide association study identified two single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the exonic regions of the SEMI-DWARF 37 ortholog that corresponded to the different T.urartu ecotype groups.Our study provides novel insights into the origin and genetic legacy of the A subgenome in polyploid wheat and contributes a gene repertoire for genomicsenabled improvements in wheat breeding.Xin Wang Yafei Hu Weiming He Kang Yu Chi Zhang Yiwen Li Wenlong Yang Jiazhu Sun Xin Li Fengya Zheng Shengjun Zhou Lingrang Kong Hongqing Ling Shancen Zhao Dongcheng Liu Aimin Zhang 2022Plant Communications2022,3,5:1
