2A distributed scheme developed for eco-hydrological modeling in the upper Heihe River显示文摘Modeling the hydrological processes at catchment scale requires a flexible distributed scheme to represent the catchment topography,river network and vegetation pattern.This study has developed a distributed scheme for eco-hydrological simulation in the upper Heihe River.Based on a 1 km×1 km grid system,the study catchment is divided into 461 sub-catchments,whose main streams form the streamflow pathway.Furthermore,a 1 km grid is represented by a number of topographically similar'hillslope-valley'systems,and the hillslope is the basic unit of the eco-hydrological simulation.This model is tested with a simplified hydrological simulation focusing on soil-water dynamics and streamflow routing.Based on a 12-year simulation from 2001 to 2012,it is found that variability in hydrological behavior is closely associated with climatic and landscape conditions especially vegetation types.The subsurface and groundwater flows dominate the total river runoff.This implies that the soil freezing and thawing process would significantly influence the runoff generation in the upper Heihe basin.Furthermore,the runoff components and water balance characteristics vary among different vegetation types,showing the importance of coupling the vegetation pattern into catchment hydrological simulation.This paper also discusses the model improvement to be done in future study.YANG DaWen GAO Bing JIAO Yang LEI Hui Min ZHANG YanLin YANG HanBo CONG ZhenTao 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,1:20
3Earthquake-induced soft-sediment deformation structures in the Mesoproterozoic Wumishan Formation,North China,and their geologic implications显示文摘Soft-sediment structures are key to defining seismites. Two soft-sediment deformation horizons, bounded by undeformed carbonate strata, have been found in the Wumishan Formation in the Jumahe region, 175 km southwest of Beijing. One is in the lowest part of Wumishan Formation; and the other is in the uppermost part of Litho-member I. The soft-sediment structures in these two horizons fall into three categories: mould-and-sag structures, hydraulic shatterings and liquefaction dikes. The mould-and-sag structures are divided into two types: one developed in tidal-flat sediments, accompa-nied by many liquefaction-related structures and characterized by autochthonous post-earthquake sediments in sags, and the other type developed in deep-water environments, is not associated with liquefaction structures, and is overlain immediately by seismogenic tsunamites. The hydraulic shat-terings are composed of pockets of fluidization conglomerate, sand intrusions, and syndepositional faults. The liquefaction dikes fall into two categories: hydraulic-fracturing dikes and lateral-spreading dikes. The former are steep, planar, and pinch out upwards. The latter are snake-like and characterized by no diapir-related drag structures in surrounding rocks. Examination of the attitudes and strati-graphic positions of these structures suggests that these soft-sediment structures are seismogenic, and consequently, are seismites. Most seismites in the Wumishan Formation are developed near the former western, margin fault of Yanliao rift. This occurrence suggests that they could be related to movements on this fault. 4Electrospun nanofibers as a wound dressing for treating diabetic foot ulcer显示文摘Diabetes is one of the most prevalent diseases in the world with high-mortality and complex complications including diabetic foot ulcer(DFU). It has been reported that the difficulties in repairing the wound related to DFU has much relationship with the wound infection,change of inflammatory responses, lack of extracellular matrix(ECM), and the failure of angiogenesis. Following the development of medical materials and pharmaceutical technology, nanofibers has been developed by electrospinning with huge porosity, excellent humidity absorption, a better oxygen exchange rate, and some antibacterial activities. That is to say, as a potential material, nanofibers must be a wonderful candidate for the DFU treatment with so many benefits. Careful selection of polymers from natural resource and synthetic resource can widen the nanofibrous application. Popular methods applied for the nanofibrous fabrication consist of uniaxial electrospinning and coaxial electrospinning. Furthermore, nanofibers loading chemical, biochemical active pharmaceutical ingredient(API)or even stem cells can be wonderful dosage forms for the treatment of DFU. 5Effects of Yishengukang decoction on expression of bone-specific alkaline phosphatase,carboxyterminal propeptide of typeⅠprocollagen,and carboxyterminal cross-linked telepeptide of typeⅠcollagen in malignant tumor patients with bone metastasis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Yishengukang decoction on the expression of the metabolic bone markers, bone-specific alkaline phosphatase(BAP), carboxyterminal propeptide of type Ⅰ procollagen(PICP), and carboxyterminal cross-linked telepeptide of type Ⅰ collagen(ICTP), in cancer patients with bone metastasis.METHODS: Patients(n = 180) were divided into three groups:(a) bone metastasis patients treated with Yishengukang and pamidronate disodium injection(treatment group, n = 60);(b) bone metastasis patients treated with pamidronate disodium injection alone(control group, n = 60);(c) cancer patients without metastatic bone lesion(non-bone metastasis group, n = 60). Serum levels of the metabolic markers BAP, PICP, and ICTP were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay pre- and post-therapy.RESULTS: A significant decrease in serum BAP level was observed in the treatment group compared with the control group. However there were no significant differences in serum levels of PICP and ICTP before or after treatment compared with the control group.CONCLUSION: Yishengukang decoction combined with pamidronate disodium injection reduced serum BAP level to a greater extent that pamidronate disodium injection alone. 6Technology for high performance TRIP steel显示文摘Thermodynamics of martensite transformation in low alloy TRIP steel was evaluated.It follows from the calculation that ε phase might be formed at above room temperature in the low Mn steel.Tested steel was therefore prepared according to the estimation result.High volume fraction of retained austenite(above 20%) containing 1.37%C was obtained in the steel after continuous annealing treatment.Tensile test showed that the ultimate strength of the steel was 1248 MPa,elongation rate 25%,the product of strength and elongation rate 31200 MPa%,reaching the grade of the third generation automobile steel.XRD detection indicated that after tensile test there existed ' martensite while TEM revealed that ε martensite also existed in the steel.Strengthening-toughening of the steel was thus raised due to the effect of transformation induced plasticity of two kinds of martensite.In addition,the phase stability of carbonitrates containing V was estimated and the complex micro-alloying effect was applied to the steel to control the size of austenite(about 1 μm) and enhance the stability of austenite.LI Lin GAO Yi ZHU NaQiong HE YanLin LIU RenDong HE ZhongPing SHI Wen ZHANG Mei 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,7:5

8Small changes in the length of diselenide bond-containing linkages exert great influences on the antitumor activity of docetaxel homodimeric prodrug nanoassemblies显示文摘Homodimeric prodrug-based self-assembled nanoparticles,with carrier-free structure and ultrahigh drug loading,is drawing more and more attentions.Homodimeric prodrugs are composed of two drug molecules and a pivotal linkage.The influence of the linkages on the self-assembly,in vivo fate and antitumor activity of homodimeric prodrugs is the focus of research.Herein,three docetaxel(DTX)homodimeric prodrugs are developed using different lengths of diselenide bond-containing linkages.Interestingly,compared with the other two linkages,the longest diselenide bond-containing linkage could facilitate the self-delivery of DTX prodrugs,thus improving the stability,circulation time and tumor targeting of prodrug nanoassemblies.Besides,the extension of linkages reduces the redox-triggered drug release and cytotoxicity of prodrug nanoassemblies in tumor cells.Although the longest diselenide bond-containing prodrug nanoassemblies possessed the lowest cytotoxicity to 4T1 cells,their stable nanostructure maintained intact during circulation and achieve the maximum accumulation of DTX in tumor cells,which finally“turned the table”.Our study illustrates the crucial role of linkages in homodimeric prodrugs,and gives valuable proposal for the development of advanced nano-DDS for cancer treatment.Lingxiao Li Shiyi Zuo Fudan Dong Tian Liu Yanlin Gao Yinxian Yang Xin Wang Jin Sun Bingjun Sun Zhonggui He 2021Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2021,16,3:3

10The Characteristics of the Indosinian Pacific-Type Ancient Continental Margin in the Qinghai-Xizang(Tibet)-Sichuan-Yunnan Region显示文摘The Qinghai-Xizang (Tibet) Plateau and the 'Sanjiang' area②, where are extensively developed theTethys-type marine Triassic sequences with Indosinian tectonic disturbance and magmatism, provide an impor-tant region for the study of the tectonic evolution and the Indosinian movement of China as well as for thestudy of the boundary between Gondwana and Laurasia and the characteristics of the time-space distributionof the Tethys oceanic crust within the territory of China. Over a long period of time in the past, quite a numberof scholars made substantial studies and discussious from various viewpoints on the geotectonie and regionalgeological evolution of this region. Based on some new data obtained recently and the field observations by theauthor, and by using the plate tectonic theory, the author considers that there developed a Pacific-type (activetype) ancient continental margin bordering the Palaeo-Tethys ocean (or North Tethys ocean) in the south inLate Permian to Triassic times in the region of south-central Qinghai, northeastern Xizang (Tibet), western andsouthwestern Sichuan, and western Yunnan. 11Magnesium-based materials in orthopaedics:material properties and animal models显示文摘As a new generation of medical metal materials,degradable magnesium-based materials have excellent mechanical properties and osteogenic promoting ability,making them promising materials for the treatment of refractory bone diseases.Animal models can be used to understand and evaluate the performance of materials in complex physiological environments,providing relevant data for preclinical evaluation of implants and laying the foundation for subsequent clinical studies.To date,many researchers have studied the biocompatibility,degradability and osteogenesis of magnesium-based materials,but there is a lack of review regarding the effects of magnesium-based materials in vivo.In view of the growing interest in these materials,this review briefly describes the properties of magnesium-based materials and focuses on the safety and efficacy of magnesium-based materials in vivo.Various animal models including rats,rabbits,dogs and pigs are covered to better understand and evaluate the progress and future of magnesium-based materials.This literature analysis reveals that the magnesium-based materials have good biocompatibility and osteogenic activity,thus causing no adverse reaction around the implants in vivo,and that they exhibit a beneficial effect in the process of bone repair.In addition,the degradation rate in vivo can also be improved by means of alloying and coating.These encouraging results show a promising future for the use of magnesium-based materials in musculoskeletal disorders.Xirui Jing Qiuyue Ding Qinxue Wu Weijie Su Keda Yu Yanlin Su Bing Ye Qing Gao Tingfang Sun Xiaodong Guo 2021Biomaterials Translational2021,2,3:1
12Structural, electronic, and optical absorption properties of TiO_2 nanotube adsorbed with Cu_n clusters显示文摘The structural,electronic,and optical absorption properties of TiO2 nanotube(TiO2NT)with Cun clusters(n=1–4)adsorbed on its surface have been investigated based on density functional theory calculations.The TiO2NT is constructed by rolling up a(101)sheet of anatase TiO2 around the[1 01]direction;the ground states of Cun/TiO2NT systems are determined by analyzing the average adsorption energies.Calculation results show that odd-even oscillations occur for the average adsorption energy,the Cu–O bond length,and the amount of transferred electrons,with the increase in Cun cluster size;and the Cun/TiO2NTs with odd n’s demonstrate stronger interaction between the Cun cluster and the TiO2NT.Also,the impurity states introduced by the Cun cluster to the band gap of TiO2NT cause an obvious redshift of the optical absorption spectrum toward the visible light region,especially for the even n cases.GAO YanLin LI XiuYan SHI XiaoFeng YANG Zhi XU LiChun LIU RuiPing 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,8:1
13The main and added effects of heat on mortality in 33 Chinese cities from 2007 to 2013显示文摘Increases in ambient temperatures and the frequency of extreme heat events constitute important burdens on global public health.However,evidence on their effects on public health is limited and inconclusive in China.In this study,data on daily deaths recorded in 33 Chinese cities from 2007 to 2013 was used to evaluate the effect of heat on mortality in China.In addition to the definition of a heatwave established by the China Meteorological Administration,we combined four city-specific relative thresholds(90th,92.5th,95th,and 97.5th percentiles)of the daily mean temperature during the study period and three durations of≽2,≽3,and≽4 days,from which 13 heatwave definitions were developed.Then,we estimated the main and added effects of heat at the city level using a quasi-Poisson generalized additive model combined with a distributed lag nonlinear model.Next,the estimates for the effects were pooled at the national level using a multivariable meta-analysis.Subgroup analysis was performed according to sex,age,educational attainment,and spatially stratified heterogeneity.The results showed that the mortality risk increased from 22.3%to 37.1%due to the effects of the different heatwave definitions.The added effects were much lower,with the highest increase of 3.9%(95%CI:1.7%–6.1%)in mortality risk.Females,the elderly,populations with low educational levels,and populations living inland in China were found to be the most vulnerable to the detrimental effects of heat.These findings have important implications for the improvement of early warning systems for heatwaves.Yanlin Niu Jun Yang Qi Zhao Yuan Gao Tao Xue Qian Yin Peng Yin Jinfeng Wang Maigeng Zhou Qiyong Liu 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,7:1

18Poly(lactic acid)-aspirin microspheres prepared via the traditional and improved solvent evaporation methods and its application performances显示文摘Drug-loaded microspheres are significant for the development of modern pharmaceutical products. It is well known that the taken of aspirin for long-term increases the risk of serious gastrointestinal complications, therefore a controllable delivery of aspirin is of importance to lighten those side effects. In this work, poly(lactic acid)(PLA) was chosen as the carrier to prepare PLA-aspirin microspheres by using the traditional and the improved solvent evaporation methods. It was found that no matter which experimental condition was, the encapsulation efficiency of aspirin was higher by using the improved method than that of the traditional method. Specifically, when the concentration of polyvinyl alcohol = 1%(mass),the polymer concentration = 1:20, the oil/water rate = 1:2.5, PLA-aspirin microspheres were obtained via the improved method with a high yield of 82.83%(mass) and an encapsulation efficiency of 44.09%. PLAaspirin microspheres were then prepared continuously using the improved method, which further enhanced the encapsulation efficiency to 54.56%. Approximate 85% aspirin released from microspheres within 7 days. Obvious degradation which was represented by reduction on hardness was observed by soaking microspheres in PBS for 60 days. 19Regulation effects of water and nitrogen on yield,water,and nitrogen use efficiency of wolfberry显示文摘Wolfberry(Lycium barbarum L.)is important for health care and ecological protection.However,it faces problems of low productivity and resource utilization during planting.Exploring reasonable models for water and nitrogen management is important for solving these problems.Based on field trials in 2021 and 2022,this study analyzed the effects of controlling soil water and nitrogen application levels on wolfberry height,stem diameter,crown width,yield,and water(WUE)and nitrogen use efficiency(NUE).The upper and lower limits of soil water were controlled by the percentage of soil water content to field water capacity(θ_(f)),and four water levels,i.e.,adequate irrigation(W0,75%-85%θ_(f)),mild water deficit(W1,65%-75%θ_(f)),moderate water deficit(W2,55%-65%θ_(f)),and severe water deficit(W3,45%-55%θ_(f))were used,and three nitrogen application levels,i.e.,no nitrogen(N0,0 kg/hm^(2)),low nitrogen(N1,150 kg/hm^(2)),medium nitrogen(N2,300 kg/hm^(2)),and high nitrogen(N3,450 kg/hm^(2))were implied.The results showed that irrigation and nitrogen application significantly affected plant height,stem diameter,and crown width of wolfberry at different growth stages(P<0.01),and their maximum values were observed in W1N2,W0N2,and W1N3 treatments.Dry weight per plant and yield of wolfberry first increased and then decreased with increasing nitrogen application under the same water treatment.Dry weight per hundred grains and dry weight percentage increased with increasing nitrogen application under W0 treatment.However,under other water treatments,the values first increased and then decreased with increasing nitrogen application.Yield and its component of wolfberry first increased and then decreased as water deficit increased under the same nitrogen treatment.Irrigation water use efficiency(IWUE,8.46 kg/(hm^(2)·mm)),WUE(6.83 kg/(hm^(2)·mm)),partial factor productivity of nitrogen(PFPN,2.56 kg/kg),and NUE(14.29 kg/kg)reached their highest values in W2N2,W1N2,W1N2,and W1N1 treatments.Results of principal component analysis(PCA)showed that yield,WUE,and NUE were better in W1N2 treatment,making it a suitable water and nitrogen management mode for the irrigation area of the Yellow River in the Gansu Province,China and similar planting areas.GAO Yalin QI Guangping MA Yanlin YIN Minhua WANG Jinghai WANG Chen TIAN Rongrong XIAO Feng LU Qiang WANG Jianjun 2024Journal of Arid Land2024,16,1:0
20Assessment of complete lymph node dissection in patients with melanoma:A systemic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background: Complete lymph node dissection(CLND) for patients with melanoma remains controversial. This meta-analysis aimed to compare the prognoses and complications between the CLND and control groups(patients who receive adjuvant treatment or observation only) in patients with sentinel lymph node(SLN)-positive melanoma.Methods: The Pub Med, Embase, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases were searched for cohort studies and randomized clinical trials(RCTs) conducted between 1964 and 2022, and the quality of the studies was assessed using the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool and Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Hazard ratios(HR) or risk ratios(RR) with 95%confidence intervals(CIs) were calculated for each outcome. Heterogeneity and sensitivity tests were also conducted, and publication bias tests were performed when the pooled number of studies was >10.Results: Fifteen studies, including 11 cohort studies and 4 RCTs, were enrolled and assessed for quality. Analysis of overall survival showed no significant difference between the CLND and control groups(HR=1.02, 95% CI:0.69–1.51, P=0.922). Similarly, recurrence-free survival(HR=0.84, 95% CI: 0.6–1.16, P=0.287), disease-free survival(HR=1.06, 95% CI: 0.65–1.72, P=0.82), and disease-specific survival(HR=0.84, 95% CI: 0.59–1.21,P=0.355) showed no difference between the two groups. CLND did not reduce the risk of recurrence(RR=0.98,95% CI: 0.8–1.2, P=0.851).Conclusion: Remarkably, patients who underwent CLND were more likely to have complications such as flap necrosis and lymphedema than the controls.
