12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 3ARF2 coordinates with PLETHORAs and PINs to orchestrate ABA-mediated root meristem activity in Arabidopsis显示文摘Multiple hormones, including abscisic acid(ABA) and auxin, regulate cell division and differentiation of Arabidopsis root meristems. AUXIN RESPONSE FACTOR2(ARF2) functions as a negative regulator of ABA responses, as seed germination and primary root growth of arf2 mutants are hypersensitive to ABA. In this study, we found that ABA treatment reduced the expression levels of the PIN-FORMEDs(PIN) auxin efflux carriers, PIN1, PIN3,PIN4, and PIN7, to a greater extent in the root meristems of arf2-101 mutant than in the wild type. Also, arf2-101 pin1 and arf2-101 pin4 double mutants show less ABA-induced inhibition of root meristem activity than the arf2-101 mutants. Furthermore, ARF2 positively mediates the transcripts of transcription factor PLETHORA 1(PLT1)gene but negatively mediates PLT2 at protein level in root meristems. Using a dexamethasone(DEX)-inducible transgenic line, Pro35S:PLT2-GR, we showed that PLT2 greatly promotes cell division and completely inhibits cell differentiation in root meristems of the arf2-101 mutant once PLT2 is induced by DEX, which can be partially reversed by ABA treatment, suggesting that ABA regulates root meristem activity in both ARF2-dependent and independent pathways. 5Refinement of Methodology for Cadmium Determination in Soil Micro-Arthropod Tissues显示文摘Highly precise and reliable determination of heavy metals in soil micro-arthropod tissues remains a challenge because of the small size of the animals and their typical low abundance in metal-contaminated agricultural soils. The present study sought to develop a method for cadmium(Cd) determination in soil micro-arthropods by optimizing the sample digestion procedure, reducing sample weight, modifying sample pre-treatment and validating the methodology with field samples. The optimized digestion conditions comprised a sample mass of 50–150 μg, digestion reagent of nitric acid:hydrogen peroxide(3:1), digestion temperature of 105℃,digestion period of 3 h and digestion volume of 30 μL. Defecation of the standard Collembola Folsomia candida(92 h) and the indigenous Collembola Onychiurus yodai(42 h) and ultrasonic cleaning of F. candida increased the accuracy of Cd determination.The recovery of Cd using the refined procedure was 98.9% and the limits of detection and quantification were 0.002 and 0.008 μg L^(-1), respectively. The within-batch precision values were < 3%. The Cd concentrations in the tissues of the Collembola Isotoma sp.collected from a range of metal-contaminated fields determined by the improved method were consistent with the Cd concentrations in the field soils. 6Acupuncture stimulation of Yamen(GV 15), Fengfu(GV 16), Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV 26) and Hegu(LI 4) reduces brain microglia activation in a traumatic brain injury rat model显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of acupuncture on neuroinflammation in traumatic brain injury(TBI) rats by stimulating Yamen(GV 15), Fengfu(GV16), Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV 26) and Hegu(LI 4)acupoints and to investigate the mechanism underpinning this effect.METHODS: A TBI model was induced in SpragueDawley rats using Feeney's freefall impact method.Acupuncture to stimulate the Yamen(GV 15), Fengfu(GV 16), Baihui(GV 20), Shuigou(GV 26) and Hegu(LI 4) acupoints was performed on the TBI rats. After 3 consecutive days of acupuncture treatment, we investigated signal molecules, receptors and microglia related to neuroinflammation in brain tissue of the TBI rats and analyzed the possi-ble mechanism underlying the effect of acupuncture on neuroinflammation.RESULTS: After the acupuncture treatment, ionized calcium binding adaptor molecule 1(Iba1), a protein specific to microglia, was investigated. In the cortical layer of damaged brain tissue in TBI rats,the Iba1-positive area was 3.3% ± 0.9% in the rats that received acupuncture compared with 5.2% ±1.4% in the TBI rats that did not receive acupuncture, and the microglia were smaller with more slender protrusions in the acupuncture-treated rats.This result indicates that acupuncture can significantly reduce microglia activation in TBI rats. A possible mechanism for this effect is that acupuncture reduces the expression of autotaxin and lysophosphatidic acid. Together, these constitute the autotaxin-lysophosphatidic acid axis, which induces microglial activation in the brains of TBI rats. Acupuncture treatment may downregulate the expression of Lysophosphatidic acid(LPA) receptor(LPAR) 1 and LPAR2 on the microglial cytomembrane, which affects the microglia activation process.CONCLUSION: Acupuncture stimulating the Yamen(GV 15), Fengfu(GV 16), Baihui(GV 20),Shuigou(GV 26) and Hegu(LI 4) acupoints can effectively inhibit the development of neuroinflammation after TBI. 7Facile and efficient fabrication of g-C3N4 quantum dots for fluorescent analysis of trace copper(Ⅱ) in environmental samples显示文摘The facile preparation of g-C3N4 QDs with high fluorescent performance has become an important direction in the last decade. Herein, we develop a facile, rapid approach to synthesize highly fluorescent QDs based on recrystallization and ultrasonic exfoliation. Size-controllable graphitic carbon nitride(gC3N4) QDs can be obtained from the precursor of recrystallized dicyandiamide, only 90 min is needed and the size of QDs is adjusted from 5 nm to 200 nm by controlling the ultrasonic time. Moreover, better fluorescent efficiency is also obtained comparing to traditional g-C3N4 QDs. 12Neurodevelopmental impairment induced by prenatal valproic acid exposure shown with the human cortical organoid-on-a-chip model显示文摘Prenatal exposure to environmental insults can increase the risk of developing neurodevelopmental disorders.Administration of the antiepileptic drug valproic acid(VPA)during pregnancy is tightly associated with a high risk of neurological disorders in offspring.However,the lack of an ideal human model hinders our comprehensive understanding of the impact of VPA exposure on fetal brain development,especially in early gestation.Herein,we present the first report indicating the effects of VPA on brain development at early stages using engineered cortical organoids from human induced pluripotent stem cells(hiPSCs).Cortical organoids were generated on micropillar arrays in a controlled manner,recapitulating the critical features of human brain development during early gestation.With VPA exposure,cortical organoids exhibited neurodevelopmental dysfunction characterized by increased neuron progenitors,inhibited neuronal differentiation and altered forebrain regionalization.Transcriptome analysis showed new markedly altered genes(e.g.,KLHL1,LHX9,and MGARP)and a large number of differential expression genes(DEGs),some of which are related to autism.In particular,comparison of transcriptome data via GSEA and correlation analysis revealed the high similarity between VPA-exposed organoids with the postmortem ASD brain and autism patient-derived organoids,implying the high risk of autism with prenatal VPA exposure,even in early gestation.These new findings facilitate a better understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying postnatal brain disorders(such as autism)with prenatal VPA exposure.This established cortical organoid-on-a-chip platform is valuable for probing neurodevelopmental disorders under environmental exposure and can be extended to applications in the study of diseases and drug testing.Kangli Cui Yaqing Wang Yujuan Zhu Tingting Tao Fangchao Yin Yaqiong Guo Haitao Liu Fei Li Peng Wang Yuejun Chen Jianhua Qin 2020Microsystems & Nanoengineering2020,6,1:1

16Bamboo‑Inspired Gasotransmitter Microfibres for Wound Healing显示文摘Diabetic wounds have become a major clinical problem that cannot be ignored.Gases,such as hydrogen sulphide(H_(2)S),have demonstrated value in inducing angiogenesis and accelerating wound healing,while their effective delivery is still challenging.Here,inspired by the continuous-independent hollow structure of bamboo,we propose novel gasotransmitter microfibres with septal H_(2)S bubbles using microfluidic spinning for diabetic wound healing.Benefitting from the exact control of microfluidics,gasotransmitter microfibres with different bubble sizes and morphologies could be generated successfully and continuously.Under the dual effects of drugs in the shell and gas in the core,the wound healing process could be accelerated.Furthermore,the controllable release of drugs could be achieved by adding responsive materials into the microfiber shell,which would promote continuous effects of contents on demand.Based on in vitro and in vivo stud-ies,we have proven that these gasotransmitter microfibres have a positive impact on inducing angiogenesis and promoting cell proliferation during wound healing.Thus,it is believed that the bamboo-inspired gasotransmitter microfibres will have important value in gasotransmitter research and clinical applications.Cheng Zhao Jiahui Guo Han Zhang Min Nie Caihong Yang Yujuan Zhu Yuanjin Zhao Liping Zhong 2023Advanced Fiber Materials2023,5,1:0
17Breeding and Cultivation Techniques for New Edible Orange-Fleshed Sweet Potato Variety Nanshu 012显示文摘The carotenoid in sweet potato has a high health value for the human body,and Harvest Plus has also carried out the breeding to improve the nutritional quality of sweet potatoes in order to address the health problems of people nutrient-deficient areas.Nanshu 012 is a new high-quality orange-fleshed sweet potato variety rich in carotenoid,bred by Nanchong Academy of Agricultural Sciences from the ' Boga × Sanheshu' hybrid.In the regional test of sweet potato varieties in Sichuan Province during 2009-2010,the average fresh potato yield was 24600 kg/ha,the average dry matter percentage was 29.0 % and the average preserved sweet potato yield was 7152.0 kg/ha;in the production test,the average fresh potato yield was 28410.0 kg/ha and the average preserved sweet potato yield was 8734.5 kg/ha.The multi-point sampling analysis showed that the total sugar content of fresh potato was 5.28 %,protein content was 1.43 %,vitamin C content was 28.9 mg/100 g and carotenoid content was 5.21 mg/100 g.This variety was identified by Sichuan Crop Variety Approval Committee in March 2012,with high fresh potato yield,sweetness,rich carotenoid and resistance to black spot.It is an orange-fleshed sweet potato variety suitable for eating and food processing,and it should be planted in the plot with moderate fertility or above,and should be planted and harvested as early as possible.Mingshuang TANG Lisha LIU Quanlu ZHOU Yingdong HUANG Sulan HE Sheng LI Dongbo LI Hongqing ZHU Mei WANG Yujuan ZHANG Yuming LI 2017Asian Agricultural Research2017,9,8:0
18Sensors-integrated organ-on-a-chip for biomedical applications显示文摘As a promising new micro-physiological system,organ-on-a-chip has been widely utilized for in vitro pharmaceutical study and tissues engineering based on the three-dimensional constructions of tissues/organs and delicate replication of in vivo-like microenvironment.To better observe the biological processes,a variety of sensors have been integrated to realize in-situ,realtime,and sensitive monitoring of critical signals for organs development and disease modeling.Herein,we discuss the recent research advances made with respect to sensors-integrated organ-on-a-chip in this overall review.Firstly,we briefly explore the underlying fabrication procedures of sensors within microfluidic platforms and several classifications of sensory principles.Then,emphasis is put on the highlighted applications of different types of organ-on-a-chip incorporated with various sensors.Last but not least,perspective on the remaining challenges and future development of sensors-integrated organ-on-a-chip are presented.Hanxu Chen Zhiqiang Luo Xiang Lin Yujuan Zhu Yuanjin Zhao 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
