1Washed microbiota transplantation vs.manual fecal microbiota transplantation:clinical findings, animal studies and in vitro screening显示文摘Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)by manual preparation has been applied to treat diseases for thousands of years. However, this method still endures safety risks and challenges the psychological endurance and acceptance of doctors, patients and donors.Population evidence showed the washed microbiota preparation with microfiltration based on an automatic purification system followed by repeated centrifugation plus suspension for three times significantly reduced FMT-related adverse events. This washing preparation makes delivering a precise dose of the enriched microbiota feasible, instead of using the weight of stool.Intraperitoneal injection in mice with the fecal microbiota supernatant obtained after repeated centrifugation plus suspension for three times induced less toxic reaction than that by the first centrifugation following the microfiltration. The toxic reactions that include death, the change in the level of peripheral white blood cells, and the proliferation of germinal center in secondary lymphoid follicles in spleen were noted. The metagenomic next-generation sequencing(NGS)indicated the increasing types and amount of viruses could be washed out during the washing process.Metabolomics analysis indicated metabolites with pro-inflammatory effects in the fecal microbiota supernatant such as leukotriene B4,corticosterone,and prostaglandin G2 could be removed by repeated washing.Near-infrared absorption spectroscopy could be served as a rapid detection method to control the quality of the washingprocess. In conclusion, this study for the first time provides evidence linking clinical findings and animal experiments to support that washed microbiota transplantation(WMT)is safer, more precise and more quality-controllable than the crude FMT by manual.Ting Zhang Gaochen Lu Zhe Zhao Yafei Liu Quan Shen Pan Li Yaoyao Chen Haoran Yin Huiquan Wang Cicilia Marcella Bota Cui Lei Cheng Guozhong Ji Faming Zhang 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,4:44
2Guidelines on multidisciplinary approaches for the prevention and management of diabetic foot disease(2020 edition)显示文摘In recent years,as living standards have continued to improve, the number of diabetes patients in China, along with the incidence of complications associated with the disease, has been increasing.Among these complications, diabetic foot disease is one of the main causes of disability and death in diabetic patients.Due to the differences in economy, culture, religion and level of medical care available across different regions, preventive and treatment methods and curative results for diabetic foot vary greatly. In multidisciplinary models built around diabetic foot, the timely assessment and diagnosis of wounds and appropriate methods of prevention and treatment with internal and external surgery are key to clinical practice for this pathology. In 2019,under the leadership of the Jiangsu Medical Association and Chinese Diabetes Society, the writing group for the Guidelines on multidisciplinary approaches for the prevention and management of diabetic foot disease(2020 edition)was established with the participation of scholars from the specialist areas of endocrinology, burn injury, vascular surgery, orthopedics, foot and ankle surgery and cardiology.Drawing lessons from diabetic foot guidelines from other countries, this guide analyses clinical practices for diabetic foot, queries the theoretical basis and grades and gives recommendations based on the characteristics of the pathology in China. This paper begins with assessments and diagnoses of diabetic foot, then describes treatments for diabetic foot in detail, and ends with protections for high-risk feet and the prevention of ulcers. This manuscript covers the disciplines of internal medicine, surgical, nursing and rehabilitation and describes a total of 50 recommendations that we hope will provide procedures and protocols for clinicians dealing with diabetic foot.Aiping Wang Guozhong Lv Xingbo Cheng Xianghua Ma Wei Wang Jianchao Gui JiHu Meng Lu Guoping Chu Jin’an Chen Hao Zhang Yiqiu Jiang Yuedong Chen Wengbo Yang Lin Jiang Houfa Geng Rendong Zheng Yihui Li Wei Feng Boey Johnson Wenjuan Wang Dalong Zhu Yin Hu 2020Burns & Trauma2020,8,1:34
3Consensus on the application of negative pressure wound therapy of diabetic foot wounds显示文摘Because China is becoming an aging society, the incidence of diabetes and diabetic foot have been increasing.Diabetic foot has become one of the main health-related killers due to its high disability and mortality rates.Negative pressure wound therapy(NPWT)is one of the most effective techniques for the treatment of diabetic foot wounds and great progress, both in terms of research and its clinical application, has been made in the last 20 years of its development. However, due to the complex pathogenesis and management of diabetic foot, irregular application of NPWT often leads to complications, such as infection, bleeding and necrosis, that seriously affect its treatment outcomes. In 2020,under the leadership of Burns,Trauma and Tissue Repair Committee of the Cross-Straits Medicine Exchange Association, the writing group for‘Consensus on the application of negative pressure wound therapy of diabetic foot wounds’was established with the participation of scholars from the specialized areas of burns, endocrinology, vascular surgery, orthopedics and wound repair.Drawing on evidence-based practice suggested by the latest clinical research, this consensus proposes the best clinical practice guidelines for the application and prognostic evaluation of NPWT for diabetic foot. The consensus aims to support the formation of standardized treatment schemes that clinicians can refer to when treating cases of diabetic foot.Shizhao Ji Xiaobin Liu Jie Huang Junmin Bao Zhaohong Chen Chunmao Han Daifeng Hao Jingsong Hong Dahai Hu Yufeng Jiang Shang Ju Hongye Li Zongyu Li Guangping Liang Yan Liu Gaoxing Luo Guozhong Lv Xingwu Ran Zhongmin Shi Juyu Tang Aiping Wang Guangyi Wang Jiangning Wang Xin Wang Bing Wen Jun Wu Hailin Xu Maojin Xu Xiaofei Ye Liangxi Yuan Yi Zhang Shichu Xiao Zhaofan Xia 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:17
43-year Treatment of Tenofovir Alafenamide vs.Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate for Chronic HBV Infection in China显示文摘Background and Aims:Tenofovir alafenamide(TAF)has similar efficacy to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF)but with improved renal and bone safety in chronic hepatitis B patients studied outside of China. We report 3-year results from two phase 3 studies with TAF in China(Clinicaltrials.gov:NCT02836249 and NCT02836236).Methods:Chinese hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)-positive and-negative chronic hepatitis B patients with viremia and elevated alanine aminotransferase were randomized 2:1 to TAF or TDF treatment groups and treated in a double-blind fashion for 144 weeks(3 years).Efficacy responses were assessed by individual study while safety was assessed by a pooled analysis. Results:Of the 334 patients(180 HBeAg-positive and 154 HBeAg-negative)randomized and treated, baseline characteristics were similar between groups. The overall mean age was 38 years and 73%were male. The mean HBV DNA was 6.4 log10 IU/mL.The median alanine aminotransferase was 88 U/L,and 37%had a history of antiviral use.At week 144,the proportion with HBV DNA<29 IU/mL was similar among the two groups, with TAF at 83%vs.TDF at 79%,and TAF at 93%vs.TDF at 92%for the HBeAg-positive and-negative patients, respectively. In each study, higher proportions of TAF than TDF patients showed normalized alanine aminotransferase(via the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the China criteria)and showed loss of HBsAg;meanwhile, the HBeAg seroconversion rates were similar.Treatment was well-tolerated among the TAF patients, who showed a smaller median decline in creatinine clearance(−0.4 vs.−3.2 mL/min;p=0.014)and less percentage change in bone mineral density vs.TDF at hip(−0.95%vs.−1.93%)and spine(+0.35%vs.−1.40%).Conclusions:In chronic hepatitis B patients from China,TAF treatment provided efficacy similar to TDF but with better renal and bone safety at 3 years.Jinlin Hou Qin Ning Zhongping Duan You Chen Qing Xie Fu-Sheng Wang Lunli Zhang Shanming Wu Hong Tang Jun Li Feng Lin Yongfeng Yang Guozhong Gong John FFlaherty Anuj Gaggar Shuyuan Mo Cong Cheng Gregory Camus Chengwei Chen Yan Huang Jidong Jia Mingxiang Zhang GS-US-320-0110 and GS-US-320-0108 China Investigators 2021Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,3:7
5Au-Ag alloy nanoparticles with tunable cavity for plasmon-enhanced photocatalytic H2 evolution显示文摘Au-Ag alloy nanoparticles with different cavity sizes have great potential for improving photocatalytic performance due to their tunable plasmon effect. In this study, galvanic replacement was combined with co-reduction with the reaction kinetics processes regulated to rapidly synthesize Au-Ag hollow alloy nanoparticles with tunable cavity sizes. The position of the localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)peak could be effectively adjusted between 490 nm and 713 nm by decreasing the cavity size of the Au-Ag hollow nanoparticles from 35 nm to 20 nm.The plasmon-enhanced photocatalytic H2 evolution of alloy nanoparticles with different cavity sizes was investigated.Compared with pure P25(TiO2),intact and thin-shelled Au-Ag hollow nanoparticles(HNPs)-supported photocatalyst exhibited an increase in the photocatalytic H2 evolution rate from 0.48μmol h^−1 to 4μmol h^−1 under full-spectrum irradiation. This improved photocatalytic performance was likely due to the plasmon-induced electromagnetic field effect, which caused strong photogenerated charge separation, rather than the generation of hot electrons.Xuanyu Yue Juan Hou Haifeng Zhao Pengcheng Wu Yali Guo Qin Shi Long Chen Shanglong Peng Zhiyong Liu Guozhong Cao 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,10:4
6Sulfonate group modified Ni catalyst for highly efficient liquid-phase selective hydrogenation of bio-derived furfural显示文摘The liquid-phase furfural(FAL) hydrogenation to furfuryl alcohol(FOL) and tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol(THFOL) was investigated using sulfonate group(-SO3 H) grafted activated carbon(AC) supported Ni catalyst, which was prepared and activated simultaneously by liquid phase reduction method. This functionalized nickel catalyst demonstrated an enhanced catalytic performance for selective hydrogenation of FAL, in which almost 100% FOL(<80℃) and THFOL(>100℃) selectivity with complete conversion was obtained, respectively. More importantly, the conversion of transfer hydrogenation of FAL to FOL also can reach almost 100% under optimal conditions(140℃, 4.0 h). The effect of-SO3 H was evaluated and systematically analyzed by the combination of reaction performance and physico-chemical characterizations. Cycling test proved the prepared catalyst could be recycled and reused for several times without noticeably reducing catalytic activity of hydrogenation.Wanbing Gong Chun Chen Haojie Wang Ruoyu Fan Haimin Zhang Guozhong Wang Huijun Zhao 2018Chinese Chemical Letters2018,29,11:4
7Highly dispersed Co-Mo sulfide nanoparticles on reduced graphene oxide for lithium and sodium ion storage显示文摘A novel hybrid, highly dispersed spinel Co-Mo sulfide nanoparticles on reduced graphene oxide(Co3S4/CoMo2S4@rGO),is reported as anode for lithium and sodium ion storage. The hybrid is synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method but exhibits excellent lithium and sodium storage performances. The as-synthesized Co3S4/CoMo2S4@rGO presents reversible capacity of 595.4 mA·h·g^−1 and 408.8 mA·h·g^−1 after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.2 A·g^−1 for lithium and sodium ion storages, respectively.Such superior performances are attributed to the unique composition and structure of Co3S4/CoMo2S4@rGO.The rGO provides a good electronically conductive network and ensures the formation of spinel Co3S4/CoMo2S4 nanoparticles, the Co3S4/CoMo2S4 nanoparticles provide large reaction surface for lithium and sodium intercalation/deintercalation,and the spinel structure allows fast lithium and sodium ion diffusion in three dimensions.Yuqing Liao Chun Wu Yaotang Zhong Min Chen Luyang Cai Huirong Wang Xiang Liu Guozhong Cao Weishan Li 2020Nano Research2020,13,1:4
8Three-Dimensional Self-assembled Hairball-Like VS4 as High-Capacity Anodes for Sodium-Ion Batteries显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)are considered to be attractive candidates for large-scale energy storage systems because of their rich earth abundance and consistent performance. However, there are still challenges in developing desirable anode materials that can accommodate rapid and stable insertion/extraction of Na+and can exhibit excellent electrochemical performance.Herein, the self-assembled hairball-like VS4 as anodes of SIBs exhibits high discharge capacity(660 and 589 mAh g−1 at 1 and 3 A g−1,respectively)and excellent rate property(about 100%retention at 10 and 20 A g−1 after 1000 cycles)at room temperature. Moreover, the VS4 can also exhibit 591 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1 after 600 cycles at 0°C.An unlike traditional mechanism of VS4 for Na+storage was proposed according to the dates of ex situ characterization, cyclic voltammetry, and electrochemical kinetic analysis. The capacities of the final stabilization stage are provided by the reactions of reversible transformation between Na2S and S,which were considered the reaction mechanisms of Na–S batteries. This work can provide a basis for the synthesis and application of sulfur-rich compounds in fields of batteries, semiconductor devices, and catalysts.Shuangshuang Ding Bingxin Zhou Changmiao Chen Zhao Huang Pengchao Li Shuangyin Wang Guozhong Cao Ming Zhang 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,3:3
996-Week Treatment of Tenofovir Amibufenamide and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients显示文摘Background and Aims:Tenofovir amibufenamide(TMF)is a novel phosphoramidated prodrug of tenofovir with nonin-ferior efficacy and better bone and renal safety to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF)in 48 weeks of treatment. Here,we update 96-week comparison results. Methods:Patients with chronic hepatitis B were assigned(2:1)to receive either 25 mg TMF or 300 mg TDF with matching placebo for 96 weeks. The virological suppression was defined as HBV DNA levels<20 IU/mL at week 96.Safety was evaluated thoroughly with focusing on bone, renal, and metabolic pa-rameters.Results:Virological suppression rates at week 96 were similar between TMF and TDF group in both HBeAg-positive and HBeAg-negative populations.Noninferior efficacy was maintained in the pooled population, while it was first achieved in patients with HBV DNA≥7 or 8 log10 IU/mL at baseline.Non-indexed estimated glomerular filtration rate for renal safety assessment was adopted, while a smaller decline of which was seen in the TMF group than in the TDF group(p=0.01).For bone mineral density, patients receiv-ing TMF displayed significantly lower reduction levels in the densities of spine, hip, and femur neck at week 96 than those receiving TDF.In addition, the lipid parameters were stable after week 48 in all groups while weight change still showed the opposite trend. Conclusions:TMF maintained similar efficacy at week 96 compared with TDF with continued superior bone and renal safety profiles(NCT03903796).Zhihong Liu Qinglong Jin Yuexin Zhang Guozhong Gong Guicheng Wu Lvfeng Yao Xiaofeng Wen Zhiliang Gao Yan Huang Daokun Yang Enqiang Chen Qing Mao Shide Lin Jia Shang Huanyu Gong Lihua Zhong Huafa Yin Fengmei Wang Peng Hu Qiong Wu Chao Pan Wen Jia Chuan Li Chang’an Sun Junqi Niu Jinlin Hou TMF Study Group 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,3:3
10Synergistic catalysis of cluster and atomic copper induced by copper-silica interface in transfer-hydrogenation显示文摘To data, using strong metal-support interaction(SMSI)effect to improve the catalytic performance of metal catalysts is an important strategy for heterogeneous catalysis, and this effect is basically achieved by using reducible metal oxides. However, the formation of SMSI between metal and inert-support has been so little coverage and remains challenge. In this work, the SMSI effect can be effectively extended to the inert support-metal catalysis system to fabricate a Cu^(0)/Cu-doped SiO_(2) catalyst with high dispersion and loading(38.5 wt.%)through the interfacial effect of inert silica. In the catalyst, subnanometric composite of Cu cluster and atomic copper(in the configuration of Cu-O-Si)can be consciously formed on the silica interface, and verified by extended X-ray absorption fine structure(EXAFS),in situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and high-angle annular dark field-scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADF-STEM)characterization.The promoting activity in transfer-hydrogenation by the SMSI effect of Cu-silica interface and the synergistic active roles of cluster and atomic Cu have also been revealed from surface interface structure, catalytic activity, and density functional theory(DFT)theoretical calculation at an atomic level. The subnanometric composite of cluster and atomic copper species can be derived from a facile synthesis strategy of metal-inert support SMSI effect and the realistic active site of Cu-based catalyst can also been identified accurately, thus it will help to expand the application of subnanometric materials in industrial catalysis.Ruoyu Fan Yange Zhang Zhi Hu Chun Chen Tongfei Shi Lirong Zheng Haimin Zhang Junfa Zhu Huijun Zhao Guozhong Wang 2021Nano Research2021,14,12:3
11Converting Co^(2+)-impregnated g-C_(3)N_(4) into N-doped CNTs-confined Co nanoparticles for efficient hydrogenation rearrangement reactions of furanic aldehydes显示文摘The cyclopentanone and derivatives are a class of crucial fine chemicals for various industries and currently produced by conventional petrochemical synthetic routes. Here,we demonstrated a new synthetic approach to directly fabricate N-doped carbon nanotube(N-CNTs)networks with confined Co nanoparticles from Co^(2+)-impregnated bulk g-C_(3)N_(4) as high performance hydrogenation rearrangement(HR)catalyst to efficiently convert a wide spectrum of biomass-derived furanic aldehydes to the corresponding cyclopentanones in water under a record-low H2 pressure of 0.5 MPa and mild temperature. We unveiled a Co-catalysed bulk g-C_(3)N_(4) decomposition/carbonisation CNTs formation mechanism.A new HR pathway was also unveiled.Dongdong Wang Mohammad Al-Mamun Wanbing Gong Yang Lv Chun Chen Yue Lin Guozhong Wang Haimin Zhang Huijun Zhao 2021Nano Research2021,14,8:2
12Redox-responsive biocompatible nanocarriers based on novel heparosan polysaccharides for intracellular anticancer drug delivery显示文摘Heparosan is a natural precursor of heparin biosynthesis in mammals. It is stable in blood circulation but can be degraded in lysosomes, showing good biocompatibility and long circulation features. So heparosan can be designed as anticancer drug carriers to increase tumor selectivity and improve the therapeutic effect. A novel redox-sensitive heparosancystamine-vitamin E succinate(KSV) micelle system was constructed for intracellular delivery of doxorubicin(DOX). Simultaneously, the redox-insensitive heparosan-adipic acid dihydrazide-vitamin E succinate copolymer(KV) was synthesized as control. DOX-loaded micelles(DOX/KSV) with an average particle size of 90–120 nm had good serum stability and redox-triggered depolymerization. In vitro drug release test showed that DOX/KSV micelles presented obvious redox-triggered release behavior compared with DOX/KV. Cytotoxicity and cell uptake were investigated using MGC80-3 tumor cells and COS7 fibroblast-like cells. The cell survival rate of blank micelles was more than 90%, and the cytotoxicity of DOX/KSV in MGC80-3 cells was higher than in COS7 cells, indicating that the carrier has better biocompatibility and less toxicity side effect. The cytotoxicity of DOX/KSV against MGC80-3 cells was significantly greater than that of free DOX and DOX/KV. Furthermore, compared with DOX/KV in MGC80-3 cells, DOX/KSV micelles uptook more anticancer drugs and then released DOX faster into the cell nucleus. The micelles were endocytosed by multiple pathways, but clathrin-mediated endocytosis was the main pathway. Therefore, heparosan polysaccharide could be a potential option as anticancer carrier for enhancing efficacy and mitigating toxicity.Lipeng Qiu Lu Ge Miaomiao Long Jing Mao Kamel SAhmed Xiaotian Shan Huijie Zhang Li Qin Guozhong Lv Jinghua Chen 2020Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2020,15,1:2
13An exploratory study of multimodal interaction modeling based on neural computation显示文摘Multimodal interaction serves an important role in human-computer interaction. In this paper we propose a multimodal interaction model based on the latest cognitive research findings. The proposed model combines two proven neural computations, and helps to reveal the enhancement or depression influence of multimodal presentation upon the corresponding interaction task performance. A set of experiments is designed and conducted within the constraints of the model, which demonstrates the observed performance enhancement and depression effects. Our exploration and the experimental results help to further solve the question about how tactile feedback signal contribute the multimodal interaction efficiency which could provide guidelines for designing the tactile feedback in multimodal interaction.Lu LU Fei LYU Feng TIAN Yineng CHEN Guozhong DAI Hongan WANG 2016Science China(Information Sciences)2016,59,9:2
14The dichotomous and incomplete adaptive immunity in COVID-19 patients with different disease severity显示文摘The adaptive immunity that protects patients from coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),is not well characterized. In particular, the asymptomatic patients have been found to induce weak and transient SARS-CoV-2 antibody responses, but the underlying mechanisms remain unknown;meanwhile, the protective immunity that guide the recovery of these asymptomatic patients is elusive. Here,we characterized SARS-CoV-2-specific B-cell and T-cell responses in 10 asymptomatic patients and 64 patients with other disease severity(mild,n=10,moderate,n=32,severe,n=12)and found that asymptomatic or mild symptomatic patients failed to mount virus-specific germinal center(GC)B cell responses that result in robust and prolonged humoral immunity, assessed by GC response indicators including follicular helper T(TFH)cell and memory B cell responses as well as serum CXCL13 levels.Alternatively, these patients mounted potent virus-specific TH1 and CD8+T cell responses. In sharp contrast, patients of moderate or severe disease induced vigorous virus-specific GC B cell responses and associated TFH responses;however, the virus-specific TH1 and CD8+T cells were minimally induced in these patients. These results, therefore, uncovered the protective immunity in asymptomatic patients and also revealed the strikingly dichotomous and incomplete humoral and cellular immune responses in COVID-19 patients with different disease severity, providing important insights into rational design of effective COVID-19 vaccines.Leiqiong Gao Jing Zhou Sen Yang Lisha Wang Xiangyu Chen Yang Yang Ren Li Zhiwei Pan Jing Zhao Zhirong Li Qizhao Huang Jianfang Tang Li Hu Pinghuang Liu Guozhong Zhang Yaokai Chen Lilin Ye 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,4:2

19Disease severity dictates SARS-CoV-2-specific neutralizing antibody responses in COVID-19显示文摘COVID-19 patients exhibit differential disease severity after SARS-CoV-2 infection. It is currently unknown as to the correlation between the magnitude of neutralizing antibody(NAb)responses and the disease severity in COVID-19 patients. In a cohort of 59 recovered patients with disease severity including severe, moderate, mild, and asymptomatic,we observed the positive correlation between serum neutralizing capacity and disease severity,in particular, the highest NAb capacity in sera from the patients with severe disease, while a lack of ability of asymptomatic patients to mount competent NAbs.Furthermore, the compositions of NAb subtypes were also different between recovered patients with severe symptoms and with mild-tomoderate symptoms. These results reveal the tremendous heterogeneity of SARS-CoV-2-specific NAb responses and their correlations to disease severity, highlighting the needs of future vaccination in COVID-19 patients recovered from asymptomatic or mild illness.Xiangyu Chen Zhiwei Pan Shuai Yue Fei Yu Junsong Zhang Yang Yang Ren Li Bingfeng Liu Xiaofan Yang Leiqiong Gao Zhirong Li Yao Lin Qizhao Huang Lifan Xu Jianfang Tang Li Hu Jing Zhao Pinghuang Liu Guozhong Zhang Yaokai Chen Kai Deng Lilin Ye 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:1
