Complete chloroplast genome sequence of Magnolia grandiflora and comparative analysis with related species显示文摘Magnolia grandiflora is an important medicinal, ornamental and horticultural plant species. The chloroplast(cp) genome of M.grandiflora was sequenced using a 454 sequencing platform and the genome structure was compared with other related species. The complete cp genome of M.grandiflora was 159623 bp in length and contained a pair of inverted repeats(IR) of 26563 bp separated by large and small single copy(LSC,SSC) regions of 87757 and 18740 bp,respectively.A total of 129 genes were successfully annotated,18 of which included introns. The identity, number and GC content of M.grandiflora cp genes were similar to those of other Magnoliaceae species genomes.Analysis revealed 218 simple sequence repeat(SSR) loci, most composed of A or T,contributing to a bias in base composition. The types and abundances of repeat units in Magnoliaceae species were relatively conserved and these loci will be useful for developing M.grandiflora cp genome vectors. In addition, results indicated that the cp genome size in Magnoliaceae species and the position of the IR border were closely related to the length of the ycf1 gene.Phylogenetic analyses based on 66 shared genes from 30 species using maximum parsimony(MP) and maximum likelihood(ML) methods provided strong support for the phylogenetic position of Magnolia. The availability of the complete cp genome sequence of M.grandiflora provides valuable information for breeding of desirable varieties,cp genetic engineering, developing useful molecular markers and phylogenetic analyses in Magnoliaceae.LI XiWen GAO HuanHuan WANG YiTao SONG JingYuan HENRY Robert WU HeZhen HU ZhiGang YAO Hui LUO HongMei LUO Kun PAN HongLin CHEN ShiLin 2013Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,2:17
Impact of an innovative tuberculosis financing and payment model on health service utilization by tuberculosis patients in China:do the poor fare better than the rich?显示文摘Background:Tuberculosis(TB)prevalence is closely associated with poverty in China, and poor patients face more barriers to treatment.Using an insurance-based approach, the China-Gates TB program Phase II was implemented between 2012 and 2014 in three cities in China to improve access to TB care and reduce the financial burden on patients, particularly among the poor. This study aims to assess the program effects on service use,and its equity impact across different income groups. Methods:Data from 788 and 775 patients at baseline and final evaluation were available for analysis respectively.Inpatient and outpatient service utilization, treatment adherence, and patient satisfaction were assessed before and after the program, across different income groups(extreme poverty, moderate poverty and non-poverty),and in various program cities, using descriptive statistics and multi-variate regression models.Key stakeholder interviews were conducted to qualitatively evaluate program implementation and impacts. Results:After program implementation, the hospital admission rate increased more for the extreme poverty group(48.5 to 70.7%)and moderate poverty group(45.0 to 68.1%),compared to the non-poverty group(52.9 to 643%).The largest increase in the number of outpatient visits was also for the extreme poverty group(4.6 to 5.7).The proportion of patients with good medication adherence increased by 15 percentage points in the extreme poverty group and by ten percentage points in the other groups.Satisfaction rates were high in all groups.Qualitative feedback from stakeholders also suggested that increased reimbursement rates, easier reimbursement procedures, and allowance improved patients'service utilization.Implementation of case-based payment made service provision more compliant to clinical pathways. Conclusion:Patients in extreme or moderate poverty benefited more from the program compared to a non-poverty group, indicating improved equity in TB service access. The pro-poor design of the program provides important丨essons to other TB programs in China and other countries to better address TB care for the poor.Di Dong Wei-Xi Jiang Qian Long Fei Huang Hui Zhang Jia-Ying Chen Li Xiang Qiang Li Sheng-Lan Tang Henry Lucas 2019Infectious Diseases of Poverty2019,8,3:8
Disparity in reimbursement for tuberculosis care among different health insurance schemes: evidence from three counties in central China显示文摘Background:Health inequity is an important issue all around the world. The Chinese basic medical security system comprises three major insurance schemes, namely the Urban Employee Basic Medical Insurance(UEBMI),the Urban Resident Basic Medical Insurance(URBMI),and the New Cooperative Medical Scheme(NCMS).Little research has been conducted to look into the disparity in payments among the health insurance schemes in China. In this study,we aimed to evaluate the disparity in reimbursements for tuberculosis(TB)care among the abovementioned health insurance schemes. Methods:This study uses a World Health Organization(WHO)framework to analyze the disparities and equity relating to the three dimensions of health insurance:population coverage, the range of services covered, and the extent to which costs are covered. Each of the health insurance scheme’s policies were categorized and analyzed. An analysis of the claims database of all hospitalizations reimbursed from 2010 to 2012 in three counties of Yichang city(YC),which included 1506 discharges, was conducted to identify the differences in reimbursement rates and out-of-pocket(OOP)expenses among the health insurance schemes. Results:Tuberculosis patients had various inpatient expenses depending on which scheme they were covered by(TB patients covered by the NCMS have less inpatient expenses than those who were covered by the URBMI,who have less inpatient expenses than those covered by the UEBMI).We found a significant horizontal inequity of healthcare utilization among the lower socioeconomic groups. In terms of financial inequity,TB patients who earned less paid more. The NCMS provides modest financial protection, based on income.Overall,TB patients from lower socioeconomic groups were the most vulnerable. Conclusion:There are large disparities in reimbursement for TB care among the three health insurance schemes and this,in turn, hampers TB control.Reducing the gap in health outcomes between the three health insurance schemes in China should be a focus of TB care and control.Achieving equity through integrated policies that avoid discrimination is likely to be effective.Yao Pan Shanquan Chen Manli Chen Pei Zhang Qian Long Li Xiang Henry Lucas 2016Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1:7
Are free anti-tuberculosis drugs enough? An empirical study from three cities in China显示文摘Background:Tuberculosis(TB)patients in China still face a number of barriers in seeking diagnosis and treatment. There is evidence that the economic burden on TB patients and their households discourages treatment compliance. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted in three cities of China.Patients were selected using probability proportional to size(PPS)cluster sampling of rural townships or urban streets, followed by list sampling from a patient register.Data were collected using a questionnaire survey, key informant interviews and focus group discussions with TB patients to gain an understanding of the economic burden of TB and implications of this burden for treatment compliance. Results:A total of 797 TB patients were surveyed,of which 60 were interviewed in-depth following the survey.More than half had catastrophic health expenditure.TB patients with higher household incomes were less likely to report non-compliance(OR 0.355,95%CI 0.140–0.830)and patients who felt that the economic burden relating to TB treatment was high more likely to report non-compliance(OR 3.650,95%CI 1.278–12.346).Those who had high costs for transportation, lodging and food were also more likely to report non-compliance(OR 4.150,95%CI 1.804–21.999).The findings from the qualitative studies supported those from the survey. Conclusion:The economic burden associated with seeking diagnosis and treatment remains a barrier for TB patients in China.Reducing the cost of treatment and giving patients subsidies for transportation, lodging and food is likely to improve treatment compliance.Improving doctors’salary system to cut off the revenue-oriented incentive, and expanding current insurance’s coverage can be helpful to reduce patients’actual burden or anticipated burden.Future research on this issue is needed.Shanquan Chen Hui Zhang Yao Pan Qian Long Li Xiang Lan Yao Henry Lucas 2015Infectious Diseases of Poverty2015,4,1:7
Factors that determine catastrophic expenditure for tuberculosis care: a patient survey in China显示文摘Background:Tuberculosis(TB)often causes catastrophic economic effects on both the individual suffering the disease and their households.A number of studies have analyzed patient and household expenditure on TB care, but there does not appear to be any that have assessed the incidence, intensity and determinants of catastrophic health expenditure(CHE)relating to TB care in China. That will be the objective of this paper. Methods:The data used for this study were derived from the baseline survey of the China Government–Gates Foundation TB Phase Ⅱ program. Our analysis included 747 TB cases.Catastrophic health expenditure for TB care was estimated using two approaches, with households defined as experiencing CHE if their annual expenditure on TB care:(a)exceeded 10%of total household income;and(b)exceeded 40%of their non-food expenditure(capacity to pay).Chi-square tests were used to identify associated factors and logistic regression analysis to identify the determinants of CHE.Results:The incidence of CHE was 66.8%using the household income measure and 54.7%using non-food expenditure(capacity to pay).An inverse association was observed between CHE rates and household income level.Significant determinants of CHE were:age, household size, employment status, health insurance status, patient income as a percentage of total household income, hospitalization and status as a minimum living security household.Factors including gender, marital status and type of TB case had no significant associations with CHE.Conclusions:Catastrophic health expenditure incidence from TB care is high in China. An integrated policy expanding the free treatment package and ensuring universal coverage, especially the height of UHC for TB patients,is needed.Financial and social protection interventions are essential for identified at-risk groups.Chengchao Zhou Qian Long Jiaying Chen Li Xiang Qiang Li Shenglan Tang Fei Huang Qiang Sun Henry Lucas 2016Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1:6
Inferring the Tree of Life of the order Cypriniformes, the earth's most diverse clade of freshwater fishes: Implications of varied taxon and character sampling显示文摘The phylogenetic relationships of species are fundamental to any biological investigation, including all evolutionary studies. Accurate inferences of sister group relationships provide the researcher with an historical framework within which the attributes or geographic origin of species (or supraspecific groups) evolved. Taken out of this phylogenetic context, interpretations of evolutionary processes or origins, geographic distributions, or speciation rates and mechanisms, are subject to nothing less than a biological experiment without controls. Cypriniformes is the most diverse clade of freshwater fishes with estimates of diversity of nearly 3,500 species. These fishes display an amazing array of morphological, ecological, behavioral, and geographic diversity and offer a tremendous opportunity to enhance our understanding of the biotic and abiotic factors associated with diversification and adaptation to environments. Given the nearly global distribution of these fishes, they serve as an important model group for a plethora of biological investigations, including indicator species for future cli-matic changes. The occurrence of the zebrafish, Danio rerio, in this order makes this clade a critical component in understanding and predicting the relationship between mutagenesis and phenotypic expressions in vertebrates, including humans. With the tremendous diversity in Cypriniformes, our understanding of their phylogenetic relationships has not proceeded at an acceptable rate, despite a plethora of morphological and more recent mo-lecular studies. Most studies are pre-Hennigian in origin or include relatively small numbers of taxa. Given that analyses of small numbers of taxa for molecular characters can be compromised by peculiarities of long-branch attraction and nodal-density effect, it is critical that significant progress in our understanding of the relationships of these important fishes occurs with increasing sampling of species to mitigate these potential problems. The recent Cypriniformes Tree of Life initiative is an effort to achieve this goal with morphological and molecular (mitochondrial and nuclear) data. In this early synthesis of our understanding of the phylogenetic relationships of these fishes, all types of data have contributed historically to improving our understanding, but not all analyses are complementary in taxon sampling, thus precluding direct understanding of the impact of taxon sampling on achieving accurate phylogenetic inferences. However, recent molecular studies do provide some insight and in some instances taxon sampling can be implicated as a variable that can influence sister group relationships. Other instances may also exist but without inclusion of more taxa for both mitochondrial and nuclear genes, one cannot distinguish between inferences being dictated by taxon sampling or the origins of the molecular data.Richard L. 7Study on cosmogenic activation in germanium detectors for future tonne-scale CDEX experiment显示文摘A study on cosmogenic activation in germanium was carried out to evaluate the cosmogenic background level of natural and ^(70)Ge depleted germanium detectors. The production rates of long-lived radionuclides were calculated with Geant4 and CRY.Results were validated by comparing the simulated and experimental spectra of CDEX-1B detector. Based on the validated codes, the cosmogenic background level was predicted for further tonne-scale CDEX experiment. The suppression of cosmogenic background level could be achieved by underground germanium crystal growth and high-purity germanium detector fabrication to reach the sensitivity requirement for direct detection of dark matter. With the low cosmogenic background, new physics channels, such as solar neutrino research and neutrinoless double-beta decay experiments, were opened and the corresponding simulations and evaluations were carried out.JingLu Ma Qian Yue ShinTed Lin Henry Tsz-King Wong JinWei Hu LiPing Jia Hao Jiang Jin Li ShuKui Liu ZhongZhi Liu Hao Ma WeiYou Tang Yang Tian Li Wang Qing Wang Yi Wang LiTao Yang Zhi Zeng 2019Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,1:5
Confirming nonthermal plasmonic effects enhance CO2 methanation on Rh/TiO2 catalysts显示文摘In some cases, illumination of traditional thermal catalysts and tailored plasmonic photocatalysts may synergistically combine thermal and nonthermal mechanisms to enhance reaction rates and improve product selectivity at reduced temperatures. To understand how these attributes are achieved in plasmon-driven catalysis, these intertwined thermal and nonthermal effects must be untangled. Here, we show how a novel indirect illumination technique, in conjunction with precisely monitored thermal profiles of the catalyst, can confirm and clarify the role of nonthermal effects in plasmon-enhanced carbon dioxide methanation on a Rh/TiO2 photocatalyst. We find that the extracted nonthermal methane production rate has a linear dependence on the top surface temperature, distinctly different from an exponential dependence for thermal catalysis. We also find that the apparent quantum efficiency from the nonthermal contribution has no dependence on light intensity but maintains a linear dependence on top surface temperatures between 200 and 350℃. The clear exposition of nonthermal effects in the Rh/TiO2 plasmonic photocatalyst illustrates how this methodology may be applied for the quantitative evaluation of thermal and nonthermal light effects in other plasmon-enhanced catalytic reactions.Xueqian Li Henry O. 9Impact of an innovative financing and payment model on tuberculosis patients'financial burden:is tuberculosis care more affordable for the poor?显示文摘Background:In response to the high financial burden of health services facing tuberculosis(TB)patients in China, the China-Gates TB project,PhaseⅡ,has implemented a new financing and payment model as an important component of the overall project in three cities in eastern, central and western China. The model focuses on increasing the reimbursement rate for TB patients and reforming provider payment methods by replacing fee-for-service with a case-based payment approach. This study investigated changes in out-of-pocket(OOP)health expenditure and the financial burden on TB patients before and after the interventions, with a focus on potential differential impacts on patients from different income groups. Methods:Three sample counties in each of the three prefectures:Zhenjiang,Yichang and Hanzhong were chosen as study sites.TB patients who started and completed treatment before, and during the intervention period, were randomly sampled and surveyed at the baseline in 2013 and final evaluation in 2015 respectively.OOP health expenditure and percentage of patients incurring catastrophic health expenditure(CHE)were calculated for different income groups.OLS regression and Iogit regression were conducted to explore the intervention's impacts on patient OOP health expenditure and financial burden after adjusting for other covariates.Key-informant interviews and focus group discussions were conducted to understand the reasons for any observed changes. Results:Data from 738(baseline)and 735(evaluation)patients were available for analysis.Patient mean OOP health expenditure increased from RMB 3576 to RMB 5791,and the percentage of patients incurring CHE also increased after intervention. The percentage increase in OOP health expenditure and the likelihood of incurring CHE were significantly lower for patients from the highest income group as compared to the lowest.Qualitative findings indicated that increased use of health services not covered by the standard package of the model was likely to have caused the increase in financial burden. Conclusions:The implementation of the new financing and payment model did not protect patients, especially those from the lowest income group, from financial difficulty, due partly to their increased use of health service.More financial resources should be mobilized to increase financial protection, particularly for poor patients, while cost containment strategies need to be developed and effectively implemented to improve the effective coverage of essential healthcare in China.Wei-Xi Jiang Qian Long Henry Lucas Di Dong Jia-Ying Chen Li Xiang Qiang Li Fei Huang Hong Wang Chris Elbers Frank Cobelens Sheng-Lan Tang 2019Infectious Diseases of Poverty2019,8,2:4

First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. We for the first time extended the limit to the m_(χ)<6 GeV/c^(2) region.Yi Wang Zhi Zeng Qian Yue LiTao Yang KeJun Kang YuanJing Li Mehment Agartioglu HaiPeng An JianPing Chang JingHan Chen YunHua Chen JianPing Cheng Cheng Yi Chiang WenHan Dai Zhi Deng ChangHao Fang XinPing Geng Hui Gong QiuJu Guo XuYuan Guo HongJian He Li He ShengMing He JinWei Hu TuChen Huang HanXiong Huang HaiTao Jia LiPing Jia Xi Jiang HauBin Li JianMin Li Jin Li MingXuan Li RenMingJie Li Xia Li YuLan Li Bin Liao FongKay Lin ShinTed Lin ShuKui Liu YanDong Liu Yu Liu YuanYuan Liu ZhongZhi Liu Hao Ma YuCai Mao QiYuan Nie JinHua Ning Hui Pan NingChun Qi Jie Ren XiChao Ruan ChangSong Shang Vivek Sharma Ze She Lakhwinder Singh Monoj Kumar Singh TianXi Sun ChangJian Tang WeiYou Tang Yang Tian GuangFu Wang Li Wang Qing Wang Yu Chen Wang YunXiang Wang Zhen Wang Henry Tsz-King Wong ShiYong Wu YuCheng Wu HaoYang Xing Yin Xu Tao Xue YuLu Yan Nan Yi ChunXu Yu HaiJun Yu JianFeng Yue Ming Zeng BingTao Zhang Lei Zhang FengShou Zhang ZhenYu Zhang KangKang Zhao MingGang Zhao JiFang Zhou ZuYing Zhou JingJun Zhu 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,8:3
Additive Effect of Zfhx3/Atbf1 and Pten Deletion on Mouse Prostatic Tumorigenesis显示文摘The phosphatase and tensin homolog(PTEN) and the zinc finger homeobox 3(ZFHX3)/AT-motif binding factor 1(ATBF1) genes have been established as tumor suppressor genes in prostate cancer by their frequent deletions and mutations in human prostate cancer and by the formation of mouse prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia(mPIN) or tumor by their deletions in mouse prostates. However, whether ZFHX3/ATBF1 deletion together with PTEN deletion facilitates prostatic tumorigenesis is unknown. In this study,we simultaneously deleted both genes in mouse prostatic epithelia and performed histological and molecular analyses. While deletion of one Pten allele alone caused low-grade(LG) mPIN as previously reported, concurrent deletion of 2fla3/Atbf1 promoted the progression to high-grade(HG)mPIN or early carcinoma.Zfhx3/Atbf1 and Pten deletions together increased cell proliferation, disrupted the smooth muscle layer between epithelium and stroma, and increased the number of apoptotic cells.Deletion of both genes also accelerated the activation of Akt and Erk1/2 oncoproteins. These results suggest an additive effect of ZFHX3/ATBF1 and PTEN deletions on the development and progression of prostate neoplasia.Xiaodong Sun Changsheng Xing Xiaoying Fu Jie Li Baotong Zhang Henry F.Frierson Jr. Jin-Tang Dong 2015Journal of Genetics and Genomics2015,42,7:3
First results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment显示文摘We report the first results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment(CDEX).A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994 g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg d has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500 keV to 3 MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039 MeV energy range. The half-life of ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is T^(0ν)1/2>6.4×10^(22) yr(90% C.L.). 14Squeeze casting of aluminum alloy A380: Microstructure and tensile behavior显示文摘A380 alloy with a relatively thick cross-section of 25 mm was squeeze cast using a hydraulic press with an applied pressure of 90 MPa. Microstructure and tensile properties of the squeeze cast A380 were characterized and evaluated in comparison with the die cast counterpart. Results show that the squeeze cast A380 possesses a porosity level much lower than the die cast alloy, which is disclosed by both optical microscopy and the density measurement technique. The results of tensile testing indicate the improved tensile properties, specifically ultimate tensile strength(UTS: 215.9 MPa) and elongation(Ef: 5.4%), for the squeeze cast samples over those of the conventional high-pressure die cast part(UTS: 173.7 MPa, Ef: 1.0%). The analysis of tensile behavior shows that the squeeze cast A380 exhibits a high tensile toughness(8.5 MJ·m-3) and resilience(179.3 k J·m-3) compared with the die cast alloy(toughness: 1.4 MJ·m-3, resilience: 140.6 k J·m-3), despite that, during the onset of plastic deformation, the strain-hardening rate of the die cast specimen is higher than that of the squeeze cast specimens. The microstructure analyzed by the scanning electron microscopy(SEM) shows that both the squeeze and die cast specimens contain the primary α-Al, Al2 Cu, Al5 Fe Si phase and the eutectic Si phase. But, the Al2 Cu phase present in the squeeze cast alloy is relatively large in size and quantity. The SEM fractography evidently reveals the ductile fracture features of the squeeze cast A380 alloy.Li Fang Xue-zhi Zhang Bo-jun Xiong Henry Hu Xue-yuan Nie Jimi Tjong 2015China Foundry2015,12,5:3
Acetytation of ACAP4 regutates CCL18-elicited breast cancer cell migration and invasion显示文摘Tumor metastasis represents the main causes of cancer-related death. Our recent study showed that chemokine CCL18 secreted from tumor-associated macrophages regulates breast tumor metastasis, but the underlying mechanisms remain less clear. Here, we show that ARF6 GTPase-activating protein ACAP4 regulates CCL18-elicited breast cancer cell migration via the acetyltransferase PCAF-mediated acetylation.CCL18 stimulation elicited breast cancer cell migration and invasion via PCAF-dependent acetylation.ACAP4 physically interacts with PCAF and is a cognate substrate of PCAF during CCL18 stimulation. The acetylation site of ACAP4 by PCAF was mapped to Lys311 by mass spectrometric analyses.Importantly, dynamic acetylation of ACAP4 is essential for CCL18-induced breast cancer cell migration and invasion,as overexpression of the persistent acetylation-mimicking or nonacetylatable ACAP4 mutant blocked CCL18-elicited cell migration and invasion.Mechanistically, the acetylation of ACAP4 at Lys311 reduced the lipid-binding activity of ACAP4 to ensure a robust and dynamic cycling of ARF6-ACAP4 complex with plasma membrane in response to CCL18 stimulation. Thus, these results present a previously undefined mechanism by which CCL18-elicited acetylation of the PH domain controls dynamic interaction between ACAP4 and plasma membrane during breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Xiaoyu Song Wei Liu Xiao Yuan Jiying Jiang Wanjuan Wang McKay Mullen Xuannv Zhao Yin Zhang Fusheng Liu Shihao Du Adeel Rehman Ruijun Tian Jian Li Andra Frost Zhenwei Song Hadiyah-Nicole Green Calmour Henry Xing Liu Xia Ding Dongmei Wang Xuebiao Yao 2018Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2018,10,6:3
The impact of increased reimbursement rates under the new cooperative medical scheme on the financial burden of tuberculosis patients显示文摘Background:Tuberculosis(TB)is still a major public health problem in China. To scale up TB control,an innovative programme entitled the'China-Gates Foundation Collaboration on TB Control in China was initiated in 2009.During the second phase of the project,a policy of increased reimbursement rates under the New Cooperative Medical Scheme(NCMS)was implemented. In this paper,we aim to explore how this reform affects the financial burden on TB patients through comparison with baseline data. Methods:In two cross-sectional surveys, quantitative data were collected before(January 2010 to December 2012)and after(April 2014 to June 2015)the intervention in the existing NCMS routine data system.Information on all 313 TB inpatients, among which 117 inpatients in the project was collected.Qualitative data collection included 11 focus group discussions.Three main indicators,non-reimbursable expenses rate(NER),effective reimbursement rate(ERR),and out-of-pocket payment(OOP)as a percentage of per capita household income, were used to measure the impact of intervention by comprising post-intervention data with baseline data. The quantitative data were analysed by descriptive analysis and non-parametric tests(Mann-Whitney U test)using SPSS 22.0,and qualitative data were subjected to thematic framework analysis using NvivolO.Results:The nominal reimbursement rates for inpatient care were no less than 80%for services within the package.Total inpatient expenses greatly increased, with an average growth rate of 11.3%.For all TB inpatients, the ERR for inpatient care increased from 52 to 66%.Compared with inpatients outside the project, for inpatients covered by the new policy, the ERR was higher(78%),and OOP showed a sharper decline. In addition, their financial burden decreased significantly. Conclusions:Although the nominal reimbursement rates for inpatient care of TB patients greatly increased under the new reimbursement policy, inpatient OOP expenditure was still a major financial problem for patients.Limited diagnosis and treatment options in county general hospitals and inadequate implementation of the new policy resulted in higher inpatient expenditures and limited reimbursement.Comprehensive control models are needed to effeaively decrease the financial burden on all TB patients.Yan-Jiao Xin Li Xiang Jun-Nan Jiang Henry Lucas Sheng-Lan Tang Fei Huang 2019Infectious Diseases of Poverty2019,8,4:3

Hydro-mechanical analysis of rainfall-induced fines migration process within unsaturated soils显示文摘Seepage-induced fines migration under rainfall infiltration is a main cause leading to shallow failures in loose colluvial slopes. To describe the full process of fines migration within unsaturated soils during rainfall infiltration and the associated hydromechanical behaviors, a seepage-erosion-deformation coupled formulation is proposed in this paper. The governing equations proposed are implemented into a finite element code and used to investigate the influences of skeleton deformation on the rainfall infiltration process through unsaturated soil columns. The numerical results were presented in detail for a better understanding of the rainfall-induced fines migration process within unsaturated soils. Further, the obtained results are integrated into an infinite slope model for slope stability analysis. The results show that, the skeleton deformation will affect the rainfall infiltration rate and hence the timing of slope failures; meanwhile their influences are more evident if the fines deposition process is taken into account. Moreover, the slope stability could be reduced gradually due to the soil strength loss along with loss of fine particles. Therefore, particular attentions should be paid to analyzing the stability of soil slopes susceptible to internal erosion.LEI Xiao-qin YANG Zong-ji HE Si-ming LIU En-long WONG Henry LI Xin-po 2017Journal of Mountain Science2017,14,12:2
