Acupuncture at Waiguan(SJ5) and sham points influences activation of functional brain areas of ischemic stroke patients: a functional magnetic resonance imaging study显示文摘Most studies addressing the specificity of meridians and acupuncture points have focused mainly on the different neural effects of acupuncture at different points in healthy individuals. This study examined the effects of acupuncture on brain function in a pathological context. Sixteen patients with ischemic stroke were randomly assigned to true point group(true acupuncture at right Waiguan(SJ5)) and sham point group(sham acupuncture). Results of functional magnetic resonance imaging revealed activation in right parietal lobe(Brodmann areas 7 and 19), the right temporal lobe(Brodmann area 39), the right limbic lobe(Brodmann area 23) and bilateral occipital lobes(Brodmann area 18). Furthermore, inhibition of bilateral frontal lobes(Brodmann area 4, 6, and 45), right parietal lobe(Brodmann areas 1 and 5) and left temporal lobe(Brodmann area 21) were observed in the true point group. Activation in the precuneus of right parietal lobe(Brodmann area 7) and inhibition of the left superior frontal gyrus(Brodmann area 10) was observed in the sham group. Compared with sham acupuncture, acupuncture at Waiguan in stroke patients inhibited Brodmann area 5 on the healthy side. Results indicated that the altered specificity of sensation-associated cortex(Brodmann area 5) is possibly associated with a central mechanism of acupuncture at Waiguan for stroke patients.Ji Qi Junqi Chen Yong Huang Xinsheng Lai Chunzhi Tang Junjun Yang Hua Chen Shanshan Qu 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,3:19

Combined and interactive effects of interference fit and preloads on composite joints显示文摘The combined and interactive effects of the bolt-hole fit conditions and the preloads of the fasteners on the load carrying capacity of single-lap composite-to-titanium bolted joints have been investigated both experimentally and numerically. Quasi-static tests of the hybrid joints with different fit conditions are implemented, and a three dimensional finite element progressive failure analysis model is proposed to predict the influences of the bolt-hole fit conditions and fastener's preloads on the mechanical behaviors of the joints. Based on the experimental validated simulation method, a multi-factor, mixed levels orthogonal design table and the analysis of variance method are used to arrange the simulation conditions and to further study the interactive effects of preloads and fit conditions. Through the analysis of the results, for the researched double bolt, single-lap composite-titanium joints, it is found that: the effects of both the interference fit and the preloads change from positive into negative mode with the increase of the interference fit values or preload values; appropriate bolt-hole fit conditions and preloads can improve the bolt-hole contact conditions of the loaded joints, and then retard the fiber failures around the fastener holes, and increase the load carrying capacity of the joints eventually; the interactive effect of the bolt-hole interference fit conditions and preloads cannot be ignored and the parameters need to be considered together and synthetically as the joints are being optimized.Liu Longquan Zhang Junqi Chen Kunkun Wang Hai 2014Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2014,27,3:13

Field investigation on severely damaged aseismic buildings in 2014 Ludian earthquake显示文摘The 2014 magnitude 6.5 Ludian earthquake caused a death toll of 617, many landslides and tens of thousands of collapsed buildings. A field investigation to evaluate the damage to buildings was carried out immediately after the occurrence of the earthquake. Severely damaged aseismic buildings, which were basically observed in the downtown of Longtoushan Town, were carefully examined one by one with the aim to improve design codes. This paper summarizes the damage observed to the investigated aseismic buildings in both the structural and local levels. A common failure mode was observed that most of the aseismic buildings, such as RC frame structures and confined masonry structures, were similarly destroyed by severe damage or complete collapse of the first story. The related strong ground motion, which was recorded at the nearby station, had a short duration of less than 20 s but a very large PGA up to 1.0 g. The RC frames based on the new design codes still failed to achieve the design target for 'strong column, weak beam'. Typical local failure details, which were related to the interaction between RC columns and infill walls and between constructional columns and masonry walls, are summarized with preliminary analyses.Lin Xuchuan Zhang Haoyu Chen Hongfu Chen Hao Lin Junqi 2015Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2015,14,1:12
Early filiform needle acupuncture for poststroke depression: a meta-analysis of 17 randomized controlled clinical trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of filiform needle acupuncture for poststroke depression, and to compare acupuncture with the therapeutic efficacy of antidepressant drugs. DATA RETRIEVAL: We retrieved data from the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure(1979–2012), Wanfang(1980–2012), VIP(1989–2012), Chinese Biomedical Literature(1975–2012), PubMed(1966–2012), Ovid Lww(–2012), and Cochrane Library(–2012) Database using the internet. SELECTION CRITERIA: Randomized controlled trials on filiform needle acupuncture versus antidepressant drugs for treatment of poststroke depression were included. Moreover, the included articles scored at least 4 points on the Jadad scale. Exclusion criteria: other acupuncture therapies as treatment group, not stroke-induced depression patients, score < 4 points, non-randomized controlled trials, or animal trials. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: These were the Hamilton Depression Scale scores, clinical effective rate, Self-Rating Depression Scale scores, Side Effect Rating Scale scores, and incidence of adverse reaction and events. RESULTS: A total of 17 randomized controlled clinical trials were included. Meta-analysis results displayed that after 4 weeks of treatment, clinical effective rate was better in patients treated with filiform needle acupuncture than those treated with simple antidepressant drugs [relative risk = 1.11, 95% confidence interval(CI): 1.03–1.21, P = 0.01]. At 6 weeks, clinical effective rate was similar between filiform needle acupuncture and antidepressant drug groups. At 2 weeks after filiform needle acupuncture, Hamilton Depression Scale(17 items) scores were lower than in the antidepressant drug group(mean difference =-2.34, 95%CI:-3.46 to-1.22, P < 0.000,1). At 4 weeks, Hamilton Depression Scale(24 items) scores were similar between filiform needle acupuncture and antidepressant drug groups. Self-Rating Depression Scale scores were lower in filiform needle acupuncture group than in the antidepressant drug group. Side Effect Rating Scale was used in only two articles, and no meta-analysis was conducted. Safety evaluation of the 17 articles showed that gastrointestinal tract reactions such as nausea and vomiting were very common in the antidepressant drug group. Incidence of adverse reaction and events was very low in the filiform needle acupuncture group. CONCLUSION: Early filiform needle acupuncture for poststroke depression can perfectly control depression. Filiform needle acupuncture is safe and reliable. Therapeutic effects of filiform needle acupuncture were better than those of antidepressant drugs.Jiping Zhang Jing Chen Junqi Chen Xiaohui Li Xueyan Lai Shaoqun Zhang Shengxu Wang 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,7:11
Estimate of influence of U-Th-K radiogenic heat on cooling process of granitic melt and its geological implications显示文摘The U-Th-^(40)K concentrations of granite are on 1―2 orders of magnitude greater than those of basal- tic-ultrabasic rocks. Radiogenic heat of a granitic melt has significant influence on the cool- ing-crystallization period of the melt. In this paper we derived a formula to calculate prolongation period (tA) of cooling-crystallization of a granitic melt caused by radiogenic heat. Calculation using this for- mula and radioactive element concentrations (U=5.31×10-6; Th=23.1×10-6; K=4.55%) for the biotite adamellite of the Jinjiling batholith shows that the tA of the adamellite is 1.4 times of the cooling period of the granitic melt without considering radiogenic heat from the initial temperature (Tm=960℃) to crystallization temperature (Tc=600℃) of the melt. It has been demonstrated that the radiogenic heat produced in a granitic melt is a key factor influencing the cooling-crystallization process of the granitic melt, and is likely one of the reasons for inconsistence between emplacement ages and crystallization ages of many Meso-Cenozoic granitoids.ZHANG BangTong WU JunQi LING HongFei CHEN PeiRong 2007Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,5:9
Allele-aware chromosome-level genome assembly of Artemisia annua reveals the correlation between ADS expansion and artemisinin yield显示文摘Artemisia annua is the major natural source of artemisinin,an anti-malarial medicine commonly used worldwide. Here,we present chromosome-level haploid maps for two A.annua strains with different artemisinin contents to explore the relationships between genomic organization and artemisinin production.High-fidelity sequencing, optical mapping, and chromatin conformation capture sequencing were used to assemble the heterogeneous and repetitive genome and resolve the haplotypes of A.annua.Approximately 5o,ooo genes were annotated for each haplotype genome, and a triplication event that occurred approximately 58.12million years ago was examined for the first time in this species.A total of 3,903,467-5,193,414 variants(SNPs,indels, and structural variants)were identified in the 1.5-Gb genome during pairwise comparison between haplotypes, consistent with the high heterozygosity of this species.Genomic analyses revealed a correlation between artemisinin concents and the copy number of amorpha-4,11-dienes ynthasegenes. This correlation was further confirmed by resequencing of 36A.annua samples with varied artemisinin contents.Circular consensus sequencing of transcripts facilitated the detection of paralog expression.Collectively, our study provides chromosome-level allele-aware genome assemblies for two A.annua strains and new insights into the biosynthesis of artemisinin and its regulation, which will contribute to conquering malaria worldwide.Baosheng Liao Xiaofeng Shen Li Xiang Shuai Guo Shiyu Chen Ying Meng Yu Liang Dandan Ding Junqi Bai Dong Zhang Tomasz Czechowski Yi Li Hui Yao Tingyu Mai Caroline Howard Chao Sun Haitao Liu Jiushi Liu Jin Pei Jihai Gao Jigang Wang Xiaohui Qiu Zhihai Huang Hongyi Li Ling Yuan Jianhe Wei lan Graham Jiang Xu Boli Zhang Shilin Chen 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,8:9
Acupuncture at Waiguan (TE5) influences activation/deactivation of functional brain areas in ischemic stroke patients and healthy people A functional MRI study显示文摘In the present study, 10 patients with ischemic stroke in the left hemisphere and six healthy controls were subjected to acupuncture at right Waiguan (TE5). In ischemic stroke subjects, functional MRI showed enhanced activation in Broadmann areas 5, 6, 7, 18, 19, 24, 32, the hypothalamic inferior lobe, the mamillary body, and the ventral posterolateral nucleus of the left hemisphere, and Broadmann areas 4, 6, 7, 18, 19 and 32 of the right hemisphere, but attenuated activation of Broadmann area 13, the hypothalamic inferior lobe, the posterior lobe of the tonsil of cerebellum, and the culmen of the anterior lobe of hypophysis, in the left hemisphere and Broadmann area 13 in the right hemisphere. In ischemic stroke subjects, a number of deactivated brain areas were enhanced, including Broadmann areas 6, 11, 20, 22, 37, and 47, the culmen of the anterior lobe of hypophysis, alae lingulae cerebella, and the posterior lobe of the tonsil of cerebellum of the left hemisphere, and Broadmann areas 8, 37, 45 and 47, the culmen of the anterior lobe of hypophysis, pars tuberalis adenohypophyseos, inferior border of lentiform nucleus, lateral globus pallidus, inferior temporal gyrus, and the parahippocampal gyrus of the right hemisphere. These subjects also exhibited attenuation of a number of deactivated brain areas, including Broadmann area 7. These data suggest that acupuncture at Waiguan specifically alters brain function in regions associated with sensation, vision, and motion in ischemic stroke patients. By contrast, in normal individuals, acupuncture at Waiguan generally activates brain areas associated with insomnia and other functions.Junqi Chen Yong Huang Xinsheng Lai Chunzhi Tang Junjun Yang Hua Chen Tongjun Zeng Junxian Wu Shanshan Qu 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,3:8

Expert consensus on regenerative endodontic procedures显示文摘Regenerative endodontic procedures(REPs)is a biologic-based treatment modality for immature permanent teeth diagnosed with pulp necrosis. The ultimate objective of REPs is to regenerate the pulp-dentin complex, extend the tooth longevity and restore the normal function.Scientific evidence has demonstrated the efficacy of REPs in promotion of root development through case reports, case series, cohort studies, and randomized controlled studies. However, variations in clinical protocols for REPs exist due to the empirical nature of the original protocols and rapid advancements in the research field of regenerative endodontics. The heterogeneity in protocols may cause confusion among dental practitioners, thus guidelines and considerations of REPs should be explicated. This expert consensus mainly discusses the biological foundation, the available clinical protocols and current status of REPs in treating immature teeth with pulp necrosis,as well as the main complications of this treatment, aiming at refining the clinical management of REPs in accordance with the progress of basic researches and clinical studies, suggesting REPs may become a more consistently evidence-based option in dental treatment.Xi Wei Maobin Yang Lin Yue Dingming Huang Xuedong Zhou Xiaoyan Wang Qi Zhang Lihong Qiu Zhengwei Huang Hanguo Wang Liuyan Meng Hong Li Wenxia Chen Xiaoying Zou Junqi Ling 2022International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,4:5

Abrogation of Hn RNP L enhances anti-PD-1 therapy efficacy via diminishing PD-L1 and promoting CD8^(+) T cell-mediated ferroptosis in castration-resistant prostate cancer显示文摘Owing to incurable castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC)ultimately developing after treating with androgen deprivation therapy(ADT),it is vital to devise new therapeutic strategies to treat CRPC.Treatments that target programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)and programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1)have been approved for human cancers with clinical benefit. However, many patients, especially prostate cancer, fail to respond to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatment,so it is an urgent need to seek a support strategy for improving the traditional PD-1/PD-L1 targeting immunotherapy. In the present study, analyzing the data from our prostate cancer tissue microarray,we found that PD-L1 expression was positively correlated with the expression of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L(Hn RNP L).Hence,we further investigated the potential role of Hn RNP L on the PD-L1 expression, the sensitivity of cancer cells to T-cell killing and the synergistic effect with anti-PD-1 therapy in CRPC.Indeed,Hn RNP L knockdown effectively decreased PD-L1 expression and recovered the sensitivity of cancer cells to T-cell killing in vitro and in vivo,on the contrary,Hn RNP L overexpression led to the opposite effect in CRPC cells. In addition, consistent with the previous study,we revealed that ferroptosis played a critical role in T-cell-induced cancer cell death, and Hn RNP L promoted the cancer immune escape partly through targeting YY1/PD-L1 axis and inhibiting ferroptosis in CRPC cells.Furthermore,Hn RNP L knockdown enhanced antitumor immunity by recruiting infiltrating CD8^(+)T cells and synergized with anti-PD-1 therapy in CRPC tumors. This study provided biological evidence that Hn RNP L knockdown might be a novel therapeutic agent in PD-L1/PD-1 blockade strategy that enhanced anti-tumor immune response in CRPC.Xumin Zhou Libin Zou Hangyu Liao Junqi Luo Taowei Yang Jun Wu Wenbin Chen Kaihui Wu Shengren Cen Daojun Lv Fangpeng Shu Yu Yang Chun Li Bingkun Li Xiangming Mao 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:4
Acupuncture/electroacupuncture enhances antidepressant effect of Seroxat:the Symptom Checklist-90 scores显示文摘One hundred and five patients with primary unipolar depression were randomly divided into three groups: drug group(Seroxat administration), acupuncture group(Seroxat plus acupuncture), and electroacupuncture group(Seroxat plus acupuncture plus electroacupuncture). Patients' symptoms were evaluated using a psychometric questionnaire, the Symptom Checklist-90, before intervention and after 2, 4, 6 and 10 weeks of treatment. The individual factor scores and the total score from the Symptom Checklist-90 reduced in all three groups as treatment progressed. In the acupuncture and electroacupuncture groups, the total score and the factor scores for obsessive-compulsive symptoms, depression, and anxiety were significantly lower than those in the drug group. There was no significant difference in the factor scores or total scores between the acupuncture and electroacupuncture groups. Some factor scores in the electroacupuncture group, such as somatization, depression, hostility, and phobic anxiety, were increased at 10 weeks compared with the respective score immediately after the course of electroacupuncture at 6 weeks. Our findings indicate that administration of Seroxat alone or in combination with acupuncture/electroacupuncture can produce a significant effect in patients with primary unipolar depression. Furthermore, acupuncture/electroacupuncture has a rapid onset of therapeutic effect and produces a noticeable improvement in obsessive-compulsive, depressive and anxiety symptoms.Junqi Chen Weirong Lin Shengxu Wang Chongqi Wang Ganlong Li Shanshan Qu Yong Huang Zhangjin Zhang Wei Xiao 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,2:4
Facile synthesis of nanoceria by a molten hydroxide method and its photocatalytic properties显示文摘Ceria nanoparticles were facilely synthesized by a molten NaOH-KOH hydroxide flux method with the precursor of Ce(NO3)3·6H2O under different conditions in alumina crucibles or Teflon-lined stainless steel autoclave. The XRD patterns and TEM images show that both the crystal and particle sizes of synthesized nanoceria are around 10 nm.XPS results reveal that the nanoceria obtained in alumina crucible has a Ce3+fraction of 17.1%which is higher than that of ceria synthesized in the Teflon vessel, the FTIR spectra of nanoceria prepared in alumina crucible show a stronger intensity of O-H stretching mode.UV-DRS and PL spectra results show that the nanoceria synthesized in alumina crucible with a calculated band gap of 2.9 eV has a wider responding light wavelength and a lower photogene rated electron-hole recombination rate, due to a higher concentration of oxygen vacancies(Ce^3+%).The photocatalytic results show that the degradation ratio and rate of the Rhodamine B(RhB)solution with the nanoceria synthesized in alumina crucible are 98.39%and 0.02919 min-1,both of which are larger than those of the ceria obtained from Teflon vessel. This method proves to be a simple and scalable way to synthesize nanoceria with rich oxygen vacancies and high photocatalytic activity.Xuewen Xia Yuanpei Lan Junqi Li Chaoyi Chen Benjun Xu Xian Luo Xisong Mao 2020Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,9:4
Rapid generation of ACE2 humanized inbred mouse model for COVID-19 with tetraploid complementation显示文摘Although monkeys and pigs can be infected with SARS-Co V-2,they generally have a long growth cycle and a large size that is difficult to handle in large quantities. However, the readily available rats and mice are not susceptible to SARSCo V-2 because of differences in ACE2(angiotensin-converting enzyme 2),the receptor mediating cell entry of SARSCo V-2[1].Thus,the key to establishing a mouse model of COVID-19 is to make the mice express human ACE2 protein, and therefore become SARS-Co V-2 susceptible.Recently reported COVID-19 mouse models using a random insertion transgene approach[2,3]or adenoviral approach to express h ACE2[4],lack the tissue-specificity of h ACE2 expression and might not replicate COVID-19 precisely, limiting their applications in certain studies.Feng-Liang Liu Kaixin Wu Jiaoyang Sun Zilei Duan Xiongzhi Quan Junqi Kuang Shilong Chu Wei Pang Han Gao Ling Xu Ying-Chang Li Hai-Lin Zhang Xue-Hui ang Rong-Hua Luo Xiao-Li Feng Hans RScholer Xinwen Chen Duanqing Pei Guangming Wu Yong-Tang Zheng Jiekai Chen 2021National Science Review2021,8,2:3
Improvement in quality of life in depressed patients following verum acupuncture or electroacupuncture plus paroxetine:A randomized controlled study of 157 cases显示文摘Depressed patients with scores of 17 or more on the 17 items of the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale were treated with the antidepressant drug paroxetine. They also underwent verum acupuncture or electroacupuncture at Baihui (GV20) and Yintang (GV29). The World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale Brief Version showed a significant increase in the total scores of patients who underwent verum acupuncture and electroacupuncture for 6 weeks compared with those who were given paroxetine only; significantly increased physical domain and social relationship scores in verum acupuncture patients compared with paroxetine only; and significantly elevated psychological domain scores with electroacupuncture compared with paroxetine only. These results indicate that both verum acupuncture and electroacupuncture can improve quality of life in depressed patients undergoing paroxetine treatment.Shenghui Ma Shanshan Qu Yong Huang Junqi Chen Renyong Lin Chongqi Wang Ganlong Li Canghuan Zhao Shenchang Guo Zhangjin Zhang 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,27:3
-Week Treatment of Tenofovir Amibufenamide and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients显示文摘Background and Aims:Tenofovir amibufenamide(TMF)is a novel phosphoramidated prodrug of tenofovir with nonin-ferior efficacy and better bone and renal safety to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF)in 48 weeks of treatment. Here,we update 96-week comparison results. Methods:Patients with chronic hepatitis B were assigned(2:1)to receive either 25 mg TMF or 300 mg TDF with matching placebo for 96 weeks. The virological suppression was defined as HBV DNA levels<20 IU/mL at week 96.Safety was evaluated thoroughly with focusing on bone, renal, and metabolic pa-rameters.Results:Virological suppression rates at week 96 were similar between TMF and TDF group in both HBeAg-positive and HBeAg-negative populations.Noninferior efficacy was maintained in the pooled population, while it was first achieved in patients with HBV DNA≥7 or 8 log10 IU/mL at baseline.Non-indexed estimated glomerular filtration rate for renal safety assessment was adopted, while a smaller decline of which was seen in the TMF group than in the TDF group(p=0.01).For bone mineral density, patients receiv-ing TMF displayed significantly lower reduction levels in the densities of spine, hip, and femur neck at week 96 than those receiving TDF.In addition, the lipid parameters were stable after week 48 in all groups while weight change still showed the opposite trend. Conclusions:TMF maintained similar efficacy at week 96 compared with TDF with continued superior bone and renal safety profiles(NCT03903796).Zhihong Liu Qinglong Jin Yuexin Zhang Guozhong Gong Guicheng Wu Lvfeng Yao Xiaofeng Wen Zhiliang Gao Yan Huang Daokun Yang Enqiang Chen Qing Mao Shide Lin Jia Shang Huanyu Gong Lihua Zhong Huafa Yin Fengmei Wang Peng Hu Qiong Wu Chao Pan Wen Jia Chuan Li Chang’an Sun Junqi Niu Jinlin Hou TMF Study Group 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,3:3
