| 1 | High-precision relocation of the aftershock sequence of the January 8,2022,M_(S)6.9 Menyuan earthquake显示文摘The 2022 Menyuan M_(S)6.9 earthquake,which occurred on January 8,is the most destructive earthquake to occur near the Lenglongling(LLL)fault since the 2016 Menyuan M_(S)6.4 earthquake.We relocated the mainshock and aftershocks with phase arrival time observations for three days after the mainshock from the Qinghai Seismic Network using the double-difference method.The total length and width of the aftershock sequence are approximately 32 km and 5 km,respectively,and the aftershocks are mainly concentrated at a depth of 7-12 km.The relocated sequence can be divided into 18 km west and 13 km east segments with a boundary approximately 5 km east of the mainshock,where aftershocks are sparse.The east and west fault structures revealed by aftershock locations differ significantly.The west fault strikes EW and inclines to the south at a 71°-90°angle,whereas the east fault strikes 133°and has a smaller dip angle.Elastic strain accumulates at conjunctions of faults with different slip rates where it is prone to large earthquakes.Based on surface traces of faults,the distribution of relocated earthquake sequence and surface ruptures,the mainshock was determined to have occurred at the conjunction of the Tuolaishan(TLS)fault and LLL fault,and the west and east segments of the aftershock sequence were on the TLS fault and LLL fault,respectively.Aftershocks migrate in the early and late stages of the earthquake sequence.In the first 1.5 h after the mainshock,aftershocks expand westward from the mainshock.In the late stage,seismicity on the northeast side of the east fault is higher than that in other regions.The migration rate of the west segment of the aftershock sequence is approximately 4.5 km/decade and the afterslip may exist in the source region. | Liping Fan Boren Li Shirong Liao Ce Jiang Lihua Fang | 2022 | Earthquake Science2022,35,2: | 14 |
| 2 | Watering techniques and zero-valent iron biochar pH effects on As and Cd concentrations in rice rhizosphere soils,tissues and yield显示文摘Zero-valent iron amended biochar(ZVIB)has been proposed as a promising material in immobilizing heavy metals in paddy fields.In this study,the impacts of p H of ZVIB(p H 6.3 and p H 9.7)and watering management techniques(watering amount in the order of CON(control,5/72)>3/72>1-3/72>3/100>1/72,with 5/72,for example,representing irrigation given to 5 cm above soil surface in 72 hr regular interval)on As and Cd bioavailability for rice and its grain yield(Yield BR)were investigated in a pot experiment.Brown rice As(As BR)content was irrelative to the watering treatments,while significantly decreased(>50%)with the addition of both ZVIB materials.The diminutions of brown rice Cd(Cd BR)content as well as the Yield BR were highly dependent on both the soil amendment materials’p H and watering amount.Among all the watering treatments,3/72 treatment(15%less irrigation water than the CON)with ZVIB 6.3 amendment was the optimum fit for simultaneous reduction of As BR(50%)and Cd BR contents(19%)as well as for significant increment(12%)of the Yield BR.Although high pH(9.7)ZVIB application could also efficiently decrease As and Cd contents in brown rice,it might risk grain yield lost if appropriate(e.g.3/72 in our study)watering management technique was not chosen.Therefore,ZVIB would be an environmentally friendly option as an amendment material with proper selection of watering management technique to utilize As and Cd co-contaminated arable soils safely for paddy cultivation. | Md Shafiqul Islam Yali Chen Liping Weng Jie Ma Zulqarnain Haider Khan Zhongbin Liao Abdoul Salam Issiaka Abdoul Magid Yongtao Li | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2: | 9 |

| 4 | Surface plasmons interference nanogratings:wafer-scale laser direct structuring in seconds显示文摘It is always a great challenge to bridge the nano-and macro-worlds in nanoscience,for instance,manufacturing uniform nanogratings on a whole wafer in seconds instead of hours even days.Here,we demonstrate a single-step while extremely high-throughput femtosecond laser scanning technique to obtain wafer-scale,highly regular nanogratings on semiconductor-on-metal thin films.Our technique takes advantage of long-range surface plasmons-laser interference,which is regulated by a self-initiated seed.By controlling the scanning speed,two types of nanogratings are readily manufactured,which are produced by either oxidation or ablation.We achieve a record manufacturing speed(>1 cm^(2)s^(-1)),with tunable periodicity of∧<1μm.The fractional variation of their periodicity is evaluated to be as low as△∧/∧≈0.5%.Furthermore,by utilizing the semiconductor-on-metal film-endowed interference effects,an extremely high energy efficiency is achieved via suppressing light reflection during femtosecond laser nano-processing.As the fabricated nanogratings exhibit multi-functionality,we exemplify their practical applications in highly sensitive refractive index sensing,vivid structural colors,and durable superhydrophilicity. | liao Geng Wei Yan Liping Shi Min Qiu | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,7: | 8 |

In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. | 13 | A potent PGK1 antagonist reveals PGK1 regulates the production of IL-1βand IL-6显示文摘Glycolytic metabolism enzymes have been implicated in the immunometabolism field through changes in metabolic status. PGK1 is a catalytic enzyme in the glycolytic pathway. Here, we set up a high-throughput screen platform to identify PGK1 inhibitors. DC-PGKI is an ATPcompetitive inhibitor of PGK1 with an affinity of Kd= 99.08 nmol/L. DC-PGKI stabilizes PGK1in vitro and in vivo, and suppresses both glycolytic activity and the kinase function of PGK1. In addition,DC-PGKI unveils that PGK1 regulates production of IL-1β and IL-6 in LPS-stimulated macrophages.Mechanistically, inhibition of PGK1 with DC-PGKI results in NRF2(nuclear factor-erythroid factor 2-related factor 2, NFE2L2) accumulation, then NRF2 translocates to the nucleus and binds to the proximity region of Il-1β and Il-6 genes, and inhibits LPS-induced expression of these genes. DC-PGKI ameliorates colitis in the dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced colitis mouse model. | 15 | Puerarin@Chitosan composite for infected bone repair through mimicking the bio-functions of antimicrobial peptides显示文摘It is important to eliminate lipopolysaccharide(LPS)along with killing bacteria in periprosthetic joint infection(PJI)therapy for promoting bone repair due to its effect to regulate macrophages response.Although natural antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)offer a good solution,the unknown toxicity,high cost and exogenetic immune response hamper their applications in clinic.In this work,we fabricated a nanowire-like composite material,named P@C,by combining chitosan and puerarin via solid-phase reaction,which can finely mimic the bio-functions of AMPs.Chitosan,serving as the bacteria membrane puncture agent,and puerarin,serving as the LPS target agent,synergistically destroy the bacterial membrane structure and inhibit its recovery,thus endowing P@C with good antibacterial property.In addition,P@C possesses good osteoimmunomodulation due to its ability of LPS elimination and macrophage differentiation modulation.The in vivo results show that P@C can inhibit the LPS induced bone destruction in the Escherichia coli infected rat.P@C exhibits superior bone regeneration in Escherichia coli infected rat due to the comprehensive functions of its superior antibacterial property,and its ability of LPS elimination and immunomodulation.P@C can well mimic the functions of AMPs,which provides a novel and effective method for treating the PJI in clinic. | Liping Ouyang Baohui Chen Xingdan Liu Donghui Wang Yang Li Yun Liao Kelvin W.K.Yeung Xuanyong Liu | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,3: | 1 |
