1Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 2Reuse of Fenton sludge as an iron source for NiFe_2O_4 synthesis and its application in the Fenton-based process显示文摘The potentially hazardous iron-containing sludge from the Fenton process requires proper treatment and disposal, which often results in high treatment cost. In this study, a novel method for the reuse of Fenton sludge as an iron source for the synthesis of nickel ferrite particles(NiFe_2O_4) is proposed. Through a co-precipitation method followed by sintering at 800°C, magnetic NiFe_2O_4 particles were successfully synthesized, which was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electronic microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopy. The synthesized NiFe_2O_4 could be used as an efficient catalyst in the heterogeneous Fenton process. In phenol degradation with H_2O_2 or NiFe_2O_4 alone, the phenol removal efficiencies within the reaction time of 330 min were as low as 5.9% ± 0.1% and 13.5% ±0.4%, respectively. However, in the presence of both NiFe_2O_4 and H_2O_2, phenol removal efficiency as high as 95% ± 3.4% could be achieved, indicating the excellent catalytic performance of NiFe_2O_4 in the heterogeneous Fenton process. Notably, a rapid electron exchange between_Ni II and_Fe III ions in the NiFe_2O_4 structure could be beneficial for the Fenton reaction. 3Stems and leaves of Aconitum carmichaelii Debx.as potential herbal resources for treating rheumatoid arthritis: Chemical analysis,toxicity and activity evaluation显示文摘According to folk usage of Aconitum carmichaelii Debx., the present study was designed to determine the feasibility of the stems and leaves of Aconitum carmichaelii Debx. as a new medicinal resource. Fourteen alkaloids in mother roots, fibrous roots, stems, and leaves of Aconitum carmichaelii Debx. were measured by HPLC-MS/MS. And multivariate analysis methods, such as clustering analysis and principal component analysis, were applied to analyze the difference among various parts. In addition, the acute toxicity, analgesia, and anti-inflammatory tests were carried out. The results suggested that the contents of alkaloids in mother roots and fibrous roots were approximate, but those of leaves and stems were different from mother roots and fibrous roots. The results of the acute toxicity testing demonstrated the toxicity of fibrous root was strongest, and mother roots were slightly less toxic than fibrous roots. The stems and leaves were far less toxic than mother and fibrous roots. In addition, the analgesia and inflammatory tests showed the effects of the various tissues had no difference each other. These results provided a basis for developing new complementary and alternative treatments for rheumatoid arthritis patients. 6Effect of Fe, Si and Cooling Rate on the Formation of Fe-and Mn-rich Intermetallics in Al–5Mg–0.8Mn Alloy显示文摘The Fe-and Mn-rich intermetallics are of great effect on the mechanical properties of the AA5083 type alloy(Al–5Mg–0.8Mn). The effect of Fe, Si and cooling rate on the formation of the intermetallics were investigated by analyzing the microstructures of the alloys with different Fe and Si contents. The results indicated that increasing the Fe content resulted in the increase of the Al_6(Fe,Mn) phase in both amount and size. In the alloys with high Fe content, the platelet-like Al_6(Fe,Mn) compounds lined up and formed a band. Increasing the content of Si resulted in the increase of the Mg_2 Si phase which formed a network structure. Increasing the cooling rate significantly refined the intermetallics. However, increasing the cooling rate did not change the characteristic of the intermetallic compounds in the alloys with low or medium Si contents. For the alloys with high contents of Fe and Si under the condition of near-rapid cooling, the Fe- and Mn-rich intermetallic compound changed to the quaternary (Al)_15(Fe,Mn)_3Si phase and displayed a fine fish bone or Chinese script structure. 8Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Lung Cancer Patients显示文摘The prevalence of malnutrition is high among oncology patients in China. Although the Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is widely recognized as an important nutritional assessment tool, it has not been validated for Chinese cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of nutrition screening and assessment data to validate the Chinese version of the PG-SGA in Chinese patients with lung cancer. This was an observational, cross-sectional study of 2,000 consecutive adult patients with lung cancer treated at several tertiary hospitals in China. Anthropometric and patient descriptive data were collected. The PG-SGA generated a score for the nutritional risk and a global rating for the nutritional status. The internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity were evaluated, and a known-groups comparison and principal component analyses were conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PG-SGA. The known-groups comparison demonstrated the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate lung cancer patients of different nutritional and body mass index (BMI) groups. A confirmatory factor analysis supported the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. In terms of the internal and external consistency, the PG-SGA demonstrated intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) up to 0.987. Alternative form validity was also demonstrated between Box 4 of the PG-SGA and the Karnofsky Performance Status score, with excellent external consistency (r = 0.972, P < 0.001). The construct validity was supported, and selected questionnaire dimensions were evident in the principal component analysis. Significant Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were demonstrated. The Chinese version of the PG-SGA demonstrated significant reliability and sufficient exploratory properties to support its validity. It seems to be a valid tool that can be used to access the nutritional status of Chinese lung cancer patients. 10Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Gastric Cancer Patients显示文摘Purpose Malnutrition is severe among gastric cancer patients in China. While the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is a widely used nutritional assessment tool, the validation for Chinese patients with gastric cancer has not been performed yet. The aim of this research is to validate the Chinese version of the PGSGA in Chinese gastric cancer patients by conducting analyses of nutrition screening and assessment data. Methods Two thousand consecutive adult patients with gastric cancer were included in this observational, cross-sectional study in several tertiary hospitals in China. A survey was made among those patients, which included several questionnaires and some anthropometric parameters. We calculated the parameters to validate the use of PG-SGA categorizing the nutritional status of gastric cancer patients. Then we performed statistical analysis to evaluate the internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity. Results This study verified the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate gastric cancer patients into different nutritional groups. The confirmatory factor analysis verified the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. The internal and external consistency was measured by a concordance analysis which showed an intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) of 0.987. The correlations of the Box 4 score with the Karnofsky performance status score demonstrated alternative form validity with good external consistency (Pearson, r = 0.643, P < 0.001). All three anthropometric dimensions of the PG-SGA were supported by principal component analysis. Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were significant in the majority of tests. 11Novel fibrin-fibronectin matrix accelerates mice skin wound healing显示文摘Plasma fibrinogen(F1)and fibronectin(pFN)polymerize to form a fibrin clot that is both a hemostatic and provisional matrix for wound healing.About 90%of plasma F1 has a homodimeric pair ofγchains(γγF1),and 10%has a heterodimeric pair ofγand more acidicγ′chains(γγ′F1).We have synthesized a novel fibrin matrix exclusively from a 1:1(molar ratio)complex ofγγ′F1 and pFN in the presence of highly active thrombin and recombinant Factor XIII(rFXIIIa).In this matrix,the fibrin nanofibers were decorated with pFN nanoclusters(termedγγ′F1:pFN fibrin).In contrast,fibrin made from 1:1 mixture ofγγF1 and pFN formed a sporadic distribution of“pFN droplets”(termedγγF1+pFN fibrin).Theγγ′F1:pFN fibrin enhanced the adhesion of primary human umbilical vein endothelium cells(HUVECs)relative to theγγF1+FN fibrin.Three dimensional(3D)culturing showed that theγγ′F1:pFN complex fibrin matrix enhanced the proliferation of both HUVECs and primary human fibroblasts.HUVECs in the 3Dγγ′F1:pFN fibrin exhibited a starkly enhanced vascular morphogenesis while an apoptotic growth profile was observed in theγγF1+pFN fibrin.Relative toγγF1+pFN fibrin,mouse dermal wounds that were sealed byγγ′F1:pFN fibrin exhibited accelerated and enhanced healing.This study suggests that a 3D pFN presentation on a fibrin matrix promotes wound healing.Carlos Poblete Jara Ou Wang Thais Paulino do Prado Ayman Ismail Frank Marco Fabian Han Li Licio A.Velloso Mark A.Carlson William Burgess Yuguo Lei William H.Velander Eliana P.Araújo 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,4:5
12Lipid Distribution in Marine Sediments from the Northern South China Sea and Association with Gas Hydrate显示文摘The distributions of lipids in surface and subsurface sediments from the northern South China Sea were determined. The n-alkanes were in bimodal distribution that is characterized by a centre at n-C16 –n-C20 with maximum at C18(or C19) and n-C27 –n-C31 as well as at C29(or C31). The short-chain alkanes suffered from significant losses due to their slow deposition in the water column, and their presence with a slight even carbon predominance in shallow seafloor sediments was ascribed mainly to the direct input from the benthos. The long-chain alkanes with odd predominance indicate transportion of terrigenous organic matter. Immature hopanoid biomarkers reflect the intense microbial activity for bacteria–derived organic matter and the gradual increase of maturity with burial depth. Abundant n-fatty acid methyl esters(n-FAMEs) that are in distributions coincident with fatty acids were detected in all samples. We proposed that the observed FAMEs originated from the methyl esterification of fatty acids; methanol production by methanotrophs and methanogenic archaea related to the anaerobic oxidation of methane, and sulfate reduction provided an O–methyl donor for methylation of fatty acids. 14Dampness in dwellings and its associations with asthma and allergies among children in Chongqing: A cross-sectional study显示文摘The city of Chongqing has high outdoor temperatures and humidity throughout the year and consequently a high risk of dampness and mold problems in dwellings.As part of the China,Children,Homes,Health(CCHH),associations between home characteristics and children’s asthma,allergies,and related symptoms were investigated in Chongqing,China.A cross-sectional questionnaire survey on home characteristics including dampness and symptoms of asthma and allergies in 5299 children was performed.Data for 4754 children(3–6 years)and their homes were analyzed.Results showed that 35.1%of homes were reported to have'damp bedding',14.3%'condensation on window panes(higher than 5 cm)',11.6%'mouldy odor',9.3%'water leakage',8.3%'damp stains'and 5.3%'visible mould'.Wheezing and rhinitis ever were reported for 27.0%and 51.1%children respectively,and rhinitis,wheezing,cough at night and eczema in the last 12 months were reported for 38.1%,20.5%,18.9%and 13.2%respectively.Doctor-diagnosed asthma was reported for 8.3%of children,and doctor-diagnosed rhinitis for 6.2%.Dampness in homes was generally strongly associated with asthma and allergies among Chongqing children.The strongest association was found between'visible mould'and doctor-diagnosed rhinitis,and the adjusted Odds Ratio(ORA)was 2.27(95%CI:1.48,3.49).'Damp bedding'was significantly associated with all asthma and allergic symptoms,but doctor-diagnosed asthma and rhinitis.The behavior of'putting bedding to sunshine'could effectively reduce the prevalence of asthma and allergic symptoms,and the risk of bedding affected with damp was reduced significantly when bedding was put to sunshine frequently.WANG Han LI BaiZhan YANG Qin YU Wei WANG Juan LIU YiLong OU YangJin SUNDELL Jan 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,34:4
15Efficiency of Slit Dam Prevention against Non-Viscous Debris Flow显示文摘This paper describes an experimental work in order to assess the efficiency of slit dam on non-viscous debris flow. Some results have been acquired as follows: ① there are three kinds of blocking type: Total-blocking, opening and part-blocking. The blocking conditions of slit dam are closely link to b/d_ max (the ratio of slit width to maximum diameter of solid matter), as b/d_ max is less than 0.739, the slit dam is total- blocking; and b/d_ max is more than 1.478, the slit dam will be opening; whereas b/d_ max ranges from 0.739 to 1.478, the slit dam is part-blocking. ② Variation of the mean density passing through slit dam is the most obvious as b/d_ max ranges from 0.739 to 1.232. ③ According to experimental results, slit dams have been shown to be effective in reducing debris flow density while slit density ∑b/B (B is slit dam width) ranges from 0.2 to 0.5.HAN Wenbing OU Guoqiang 2006Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2006,11,4:4

17Reductive transformation and detoxification mechanism of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene in combined zero valent iron and anaerobic-aerobic process显示文摘A combined zero valent iron (ZVI) and anaerobic-aerobic process was adopted for the treatment of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB)-containing wastewater. The transformation pathway, reduction of acute toxicity and enhancement of biodegradability were investigated. After pretreatment by ZVI, DNCB in wastewater could be completely converted into 2,4-diaminochlorobenzene (DACB). The ratio of BOD5/COD increased from 0.005±0.001 to 0.168±0.007, while EC 50, 48 hr (V/V) increased from 0.65% to 5.20%, indicating the enhancement of biodegradability and reduction of acute toxicity with the pretreatment by ZVI. DACB was further dechlorinated to m-phenylenediamine during the anaerobic process using methanol as electron donor, with EC50, 48 hr increasing from 5.20% to 48.2%. After the subsequent anaerobic-aerobic process, m-phenylenediamine was degraded completely, with effluent COD of 67.5±10.8 mg/L. This effluent of the subsequent anaerobic-aerobic process was not toxic to zebrafish. 19Morphological and electrophysiological properties of single myocardial cells from Koch triangle of rabbit heart显示文摘Background The morphological and electrophysiological characteristics of cardiac cells in Koch triangle are still disputed.We studied the appearance and electrical properties of these diverse myocytes to elucidate their complex electrophysiological phenomena.Methods Experiments were conducted using cooled charge coupling device(CCD) system and whole cell,patch clamp technique to determine the morphology,action potential and sodium current density of single viable myocytes enzymatically isolated from the Koch triangle of rabbit hearts.Results Morphologically,cardiac cells in shape of spider,tiny spindle,slender spindle,rod and strip were observed in percentage of 3.0±0.3,35.0±5.0,15.0±2.0,40.0±5.0 and 6.0±0.7 respectively.The cellular dimensions and capacitance gradually increased in the above order(all P<0.05).Electrophysiologically,action potential configurations recorded from them were similar respectively to nodal(N),atrial nodal(AN),nodal Hisian(NH),atrial(A) and Hisian like potentials obtained from the intact atrioventricular nodal preparations.Diastolic depolarization appeared in all myocytes except for rod cells.Sodium current density increased in the order of tiny spindle,strip,rod,slender spindle cell(all P<0.05),but could not be detected in spider-shaped cells.Linear regression analysis revealed that membrane capacitance was correlated negatively to the rate of diastolic depolarization r=-0.70,P<0.001,but positively to maximum depolarization potential,amplitude of action potential,upstroke velocity and maximum peak value of sodium current density r=0.84,0.80,0.87 and 0.75,respectively;all P<0.001.Conclusions The results demonstrated that spider-shaped,spindle,rod and strip cells in Koch triangle might correspond to pacemaking,transitional,atrial and Purkinje like cells,respectively.Furthermore,tiny spindle and slender spindle cells were referred to transitional cell α(TCα) and β(TCβ) accordingly considering their distinctive electrical properties.Different myocytes with diverse electrical properties constituted the infrastructure of sophisticated electrophysiological phenomena in Koch triangle.In view of the prominent percentage and electrical properties,tiny spindle and slender spindle cells were presumed to play important roles.REN Fu-xian NIU Xiao-lin OU Yan HAN Zhen-hua LING Feng-dong ZHOU Shi-sheng LI Ya-jie 2006Chinese Medical Journal2006,,24:3
20High performance of a unique mesoporous polystyrene-based adsorbent for blood purification显示文摘A multi-functional polystyrene based adsorbent(NKU-9)with a unique mesoporous and a high surface area was prepared by suspension polymerization for removal of therapeutic toxins in blood purification.The adsorbent produced had an almost equal amount of mesopore distribution in the range from 2 to 50 nm.The adsorption of serum toxins with different molecular weights were examined by in vitro adsorption assays and compared with some clinical currently used adsorbents such as HA-330,Cytosorb and BL-300 which are produced by China,America and Japan,respectively.Test results indicated that the adsorption rate for pentobarbital by NKU-9 was 81.24%which is nearly as high as HA-330(81.44%).The latter adsorbent is currently used for acute detoxification treatment in China.To reach adsorption equilibrium,NKU-9 was faster than HA-330,which implies short treatment time.For the removal of middle molecular toxins such as b2-microglobulin(98.88%),NKU-9 performed better adsorptive selectivity than Cytosorb(92.80%).In addition,NKU-9 showed high performance for the removal of albumin-bound toxins(e.g.,bilirubin),and its adsorption rate for total bilirubin(80.79%)in plasma was 8.4%higher than that of anion exchange resin BL-300 which is currently used to eliminate bilirubin in clinic.Therefore,our results indicate that the newly developed adsorbent with a wide distribution and almost equal amount of mesopores is a multifunctional adsorbent for high efficient removal of serum toxins with different molecular weights which might be an excellent blood purification adsorbent especially to treat diseases that conventional medical methods are low or not efficient.Jian Chen Wenyan Han Jie Chen Wenhui Zong Weichao Wang Yue Wang Guanghui Cheng Chunran Li Lailiang Ou Yaoting Yu 2017Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,1:3
