1Sleep and Cognitive Abnormalities in Acute Minor Thalamic Infarction显示文摘In order to characterize sleep and the cognitive patterns in patients with acute minor thalamic infarction(AMTI), we enrolled 27 patients with AMTI and 12 matched healthy individuals. Questionnaires about sleep and cognition as well as polysomnography(PSG) were performed on days 14 and 90 post-stroke. Compared to healthy controls, in patients with AMTI, hyposomnia was more prevalent; sleep architecture was disrupted as indicated by decreased sleep efficiency, increased sleep latency, and decreased non-rapid eye movement sleep stages 2 and 3;more sleep-related breathing disorders occurred; and cognitive functions were worse, especially memory. While sleep apnea and long-delay memory recovered to a large extent in the patients, other sleep and cognitive function deficit often persisted. Patients with AMTI are at an increased risk for hyposomnia, sleep structure disturbance,sleep apnea, and memory deficits. 2A 2-kb Mycovirus Converts a Pathogenic Fungus into a Beneficial Endophyte for Brassica Protection and Yield Enhancement显示文摘Mycoviruses are viruses that infect fungi,and hypovirulence-associated mycoviruses have the potential to control fungal diseases.However,it is unclear how mycovirus-mediated hypovirulent strains live and survive in the field,and no mycovirus has been applied for field crop protection.In this study,we found that a previously identified small DNA mycovirus(SsHADV-1)can convert its host,Sclerotinia sclerotiorum,from a typical necrotrophic pathogen to a beneficial endophytic fungus.SsHADV-1 downregulates the expression of key pathogenicity factor genes in S.sclerotiorum during infection.When growing in rapeseed,the SsHADV-1-infected strain DT-8 significantly regulates the expression of rapeseed genes involved in defense,hormone signaling,and circadian rhythm pathways.As a result,plant growth is promoted and disease resistance is enhanced.Field experiments showed that spraying DT-8 at the early flowering stage can reduce the disease severity of rapeseed stem rot by 67.6%and improve yield by 14.9%.Moreover,we discovered that SsHADV-1 could also infect other S.sclerotiorum strains on DT-8-inoculated plants and that DT-8 could be recovered from dead plants.These findings suggest that the mycoviruses may have the ability to shape the origin of endophytism.Our discoveries suggest that mycoviruses may influence the origin of endophytism and may also offer a novel strategy for disease control in which mycovirus-infected strains are used to improve crop health and release mycoviruses into the field.Hongxiang Zhang Jiatao Xie Yanping Fu Jiasen Cheng Zheng Qu Zhenzhen Zhao Shufen Cheng Tao Chen Bo Li Qianqian Wang Xinqiang Liu Binnian Tian David B.Collinge Daohong Jiang 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,10:9

5Label-free fiber nanograting sensor for real-time in situ early monitoring of cellular apoptosis显示文摘The achievement of functional nanomodules for subcellular label-free measurement has long been pursued in order to fully understand cellular functions.Here,a compact label-free nanosensor based on a fiber taper and zinc oxide nanogratings is designed and applied for the early monitoring of apoptosis in individual living cells.Because of its nanoscale dimensions,mechanical flexibility,and minimal cytotoxicity to cells,the sensing module can be loaded in cells for long term in situ tracking with high sensitivity.A gradual increase in the nuclear refractive index during the apoptosis process is observed,revealing the increase in molecular density and the decrease in cell volume.The strategy used in our study not only contributes to the understanding of internal environmental variations during cellular apoptosis but also provides a new platform for nonfluorescent fiber devices for investigation of cellular events and understanding fundamental cell biochemical engineering.Danran Li Nina Wang Tianyang Zhang Guangxing Wu Yifeng Xiong Qianqian Du Yunfei Tian Weiwei Zhao Jiandong Ye Shulin Gu Yanqing Lu Dechen Jiang Fei Xu 2022Advanced Photonics2022,4,1:5

8Impacts of exercise intervention on various diseases in rats显示文摘Background:Exercise is considered as an important intervention for treatment and prevention of several diseases,such as osteoarthritis,obesity,hypertension,and Alzheimer's disease.This review summarizes decadal exercise intervention studies with various rat models across 6 major systems to provide a better understanding of the mechanisms behind the effects that exercise brought.Methods:PubMed was utilized as the data source.To collect research articles,we used the following terms to create the search:(exercise[Title]OR physical activity[Title]OR training[Title])AND(rats[Title/Abstract]OR rat[Title/Abstract]OR rattus[Title/Abstract]).To best cover targeted studies,publication dates were limited to'within 11 years.'The exercise intervention methods used for different diseases were sorted according to the mode,frequency,and intensity of exercise.Results:The collected articles were categorized into studies related to 6 systems or disease types:motor system(17 articles),metabolic system(110 articles),cardiocerebral vascular system(171 articles),nervous system(71 articles),urinary system(2 articles),and cancer(21 articles).Our review found that,for different diseases,exercise intervention mostly had a positive effect.However,the most powerful effect was achieved by using a specific mode of exercise that addressed the characteristics of the disease.Conclusion:As a model animal,rats not only provide a convenient resource for studying human diseases but also provide the possibility for exploring the molecular mechanisms of exercise intervention on diseases.This review also aims to provide exercise intervention frameworks and optimal exercise dose recommendations for further human exercise intervention research.Ruwen Wang Haili Tian Dandan Guo Qianqian Tian Ting Yao Xingxing Kong 2020Journal of Sport and Health Science2020,9,3:3
9The coloring mechanism of a novel golden variety in Populus deltoides based on the RGB color mode显示文摘Compared to flower color and red leaf mutants,the mechanism of yellow leaf formation in woody plants is more complicated and less understood.Poplars are common and widely distributed perennial trees.Here,we obtained a golden leaf mutant poplar variety(JHY)and compared it with its original green leaf poplar(Populus sp.Linn.‘2025’)in terms of phenotype,pigment content,the transcriptomes and metabolomes.Through transcriptome sequencing,we found that the chlorophyll degradation genes,and the genes in anthocyanin metabolism in JHY were up-regulated compared to L2025 and the carotenoid synthesis genes were down-regulated.Further based on HPLC-ESI-MS/MS technology,16 differentially expressed anthocyanins were identified,14 reddish anthocyanins of which were significantly up-regulated.According to these results,we proposed a coloring mechanism of JHY based on the RGB color mode.The yellow color of carotenoids and the red color of anthocyanins overlay each other,combined with a reduction in chlorophyll,turning the leaves golden.This study systematic analyzes the causes of golden leaf formation through the omics integration approach,which will provide reference for the breeding of golden leaf trees.Yuru Tian Shupei Rao Qianqian Li Meng Xu Aike Wang Hechen Zhang Jinhuan Chen 2021Forestry Research2021,1,1:2
10Therapeutic effects of epigallocatechin and epigallocatechin gallate on the allergic reaction ofα_(s1)-casein sensitized mice显示文摘To investigate the anti-α_(s1)-casein allergy mechanism of two tea-derived polyphenols,epigallocatechin(EGC)and epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG),BALB/c mice were sensitized and challenged withα_(s1)-casein and nutritional intervention was given by EGC and EGCG during the sensitization provocation phase.The main evaluation indexes used were levels of mast cell proteases,histamine,and specific antibody immunoglobulin E(IgE),as well as cytokine secretion and pathological observation.The results showed that both EGC and EGCG significantly reduced levels of mast cell protease,histamine,specific IgE antibodies,and Th2 cytokines in allergic mice.The histopathology results showed that both EGC and EGCG markedly reduced the degree of lesions in the intestine,thymus,spleen,and lung.The conclusions from this study can provide a theoretical basis for the mechanism by which tea polyphenols regulate food allergens.Qianqian Zhang Xiaofeng Yu Linghan Tian Yanjun Cong Linfeng Li 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,3:1
11Impact of Survival Rate and Safety Analysis of Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy in Patients with Recurrent Cervical Cancer显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effect of concurrent chemoradiotherapy on the survival rate and safety of patients with recurrent cervical cancer.Methods:A total of 107 patients with recurrent cervical cancer who were treated in our hospital from March 2016 to January 2019 were retrospectively analyzed and randomly divided into the control group(n=53)and the observation group(n=54)and treated conventionally.On this basis,the control group was treated with radiotherapy,and the observation group was treated with concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy.The clinical efficacy,cellular immune index,survival rate and rate of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:Compared with the total effective rate of 79.25%in the control group,the observation group was 94.44%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of NK,CD3+,and CD4+in the two groups were higher than before the treatment,and the observation group was higher than the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the adverse reaction rate of 18.87%in the control group,the observation group was 11.11%,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Concurrent chemoradiotherapy for patients with recurrent cervical cancer has a significant effect,which not only can effectively improve the cellular immune index and the survival rate of patients,but also have high safety.Guohua Liang Yajun Zhu Qianqian Yu Wangsheng Tian 2019Proceedings of Anticancer Research2019,3,6:1

15Burch colposuspension for stress urinary incontinence: a 14-year prospective follow-up显示文摘We aimed to evaluate the long-term effectiveness and safety of Burch colposuspension(BC) for stress urinary incontinence(SUI). In this prospective cohort study, 84 patients with SUI undergoing BC were enrolled from February 2004 to January 2010.Data on long-term subjective success and postoperative complications were collected at clinic visits and by telephone follow-up.During a mean follow-up period of 14.2 years, 68%(57/84) patients completed the follow-up. A total of 68.4% of patients(39/57) reported absence of SUI symptoms, 73.6%(42/57) were subjectively satisfied according to the Patient Global Impression of Improvement, and 68.4%(39/57) reported subjective success regarding urinary symptoms via the Urinary Distress Inventory Short Form. However, 28.1%(16/57) suffered at least one long-term postoperative complication and incident. Specifically, 1 in25(4.0%) sexually active patients reported dyspareunia, 3 patients(5.3%) had de novo overactive bladder, and 6 patients(10.5%)reported voiding dysfunction. Four patients(7.0%) reported new onset prolapse symptoms, and 3 patients(5.3%) underwent secondary urinary incontinence surgery. Our study indicated that Burch colposuspension is an effective procedure for SUI, and the cure effect was largely maintained for the 14-year follow-up period, with relatively low complication rates. 16Spectrum-dependent photonic synapses based on 2D imine polymers for power-efficient neuromorphic computing显示文摘2D polymers(2DPs)have attracted increasing interests in sensors,catalysis,and gas storage applications.Furthermore,2DPs with unique band structure and tunable photophysical properties also have immense potential for application in photonic neuromorphic computing.Here,photonic synaptic transistors based on 2DPs as the light-tunable charge-trapping medium are developed for the first time.The resulted organic transistors can successfully emulate common synaptic functions,including excitatory postsynaptic current,pair-pulse facilitation,the transition of short-term memory to long-term memory,and dynamic filtering.Benefitting from the high photosensitivity of the 2DP,the devices can be operated under a low operating voltage of0.1 V,and achieve an ultralow energy consumption of~0.29 pJ per event.In addition,the heterostructure formed between the 2DP and organic semiconductor enables spectrum-dependent synaptic responses,which facilitates the simulation of visual learning and memory processes in distinct emotional states.The underlying mechanism of spectrum-dependent synaptic-like behaviors is systematically validated with in situ atomic force microscopy based electrical techniques.The spectrum-enabled tunability of synaptic behaviors further promotes the realization of optical logic functions and associative learning.This work inspires the new application of 2DPs in photonic synapses for future neuromorphic computing.Junyao Zhang Qianqian Shi Ruizhi Wang Xuan Zhang Li Li Jianhua Zhang Li Tian Lize Xiong Jia Huang 2021InfoMat2021,3,8:1
17Covalent stabilization of DNA nanostructures on cell membranes for efficient surface receptor-mediated labeling and function regulations显示文摘One major challenge of using DNA nanostructures for cellular and in vivo applications is their insufficiently structural integrity that stems from the non-covalent base pairing and stacking in complex cellular and physiological environment. The establishment of covalent bonds in DNA nanostructures can link individual strands more stably and therefore should improve the performance of DNA nanostructures in different scenarios where structural integrity is required. Here, we developed a convenient and effective method for constructing covalently stabilized DNA nanostructures by chemically inserting photo-crosslinker(^(CNV)K) in DNA sequences. These covalently linked DNA nanostructures were found to be more resistant to external interference, such as low cation concentrations and unspecific displacement on cell membranes. 18Molecular Characterization and Antibacterial Activity of a G-Type Lysozyme in Yellow Drum(Nibea albiflora)显示文摘Lysozyme(EC3.2.1.17)plays an important role in the immune response;as a nonspecific immune factor,it can resist causative agents.Lysozyme can be divided into c-type and g-type in fish.In a previous study,through genome-wide association analysis,the g-type lysozyme gene,which is named NaLyg in yellow drum(Nibea albiflora),was found to be a key candidate gene for disease resistance in response to Vibrio harveyi infection.The cDNA of NaLyg was 1025 bp,including four exons and three introns,and its open reading frame(ORF)had a full-length of 582 bp,encoding 193 amino acids.NaLyg was found to be conserved during evolution through bioinformatic analyses.The NaLyg protein possessed a sugar binding domain and three catalytic sites,including Glu71,Asp84 and Asp101.Quantitative qRT-PCR results confirmed that NaLyg gene mRNA was visibly increased after V.harveyi infection.The NaLyg protein purified by prokaryotic expression killed some gram-negative bacterial pathogens by inducing cell wall destruction,including V.harveyi,Aeromonas hydrophila and Edwardsiella tarda.Moreover,the NaLyg protein killed two gram-positive bacteria,Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus.Taken together,the experimental results suggested that the NaLyg protein of N.albiflora played an important role in fighting bacterial infections.XIAO Yao LI Jiacheng TIAN Qianqian WU Baolan HAN Fang 2024Journal of Ocean University of China2024,23,2:0

20Study on the Management of Chronic Diseases in American and British Community Pharmacy显示文摘Objective To provide a reference for promoting the construction of chronic disease management in community pharmacies in China.Methods Literature research and comparative research methods were used to analyze the management of chronic disease carried out by community pharmacies in the United States and the United Kingdom.Results and Conclusion The management of chronic diseases in American and British community pharmacies has formed retail health clinic and online chronic disease mode.It is recommended that Chinese government should issue measures and supporting guidelines for the management of chronic diseases in community pharmacies as soon as possible.Community pharmacies should be encouraged to carry out chronic disease management with the concept of prudent inclusion and gradual progression.Meanwhile,the concentration of drug retail industry should be improved to carry out the systematic construction of chronic disease management and build a standardized chronic disease service process.Besides,community pharmacies should make full use of new technologies such as the Internet,cloud computing and big data,smart wearable devices,and chronic disease management Apps to explore and carry out online professional chronic disease management mode.Chen Qianqian Tian Lijuan 2023Asian Journal of Social Pharmacy2023,18,2:0
