Mode-division multiplexed transmission of wavelength-division multiplexing signals over a 100-km single-span orbital angular momentum fiber显示文摘We experimentally demonstrate mode-division multiplexed(MDM)transmission using eight orbital angular momentum(OAM)modes over a single span of 100-km low-attenuation and low-crosstalk ring-core fiber(RCF).Each OAM mode channel carries 10 wavelength-division multiplexing(WDM)signal channels in the C band, with each WDM channel in turn transmitting 16-GBaud quadrature phase-shift keying signal. An aggregate capacity of 2.56 Tbit/s and an overall spectral efficiency of 10.24 bit/(s·Hz)are realized. The capacity-distance product of 256(Tbit/s)·km is the largest reported so far for OAM fiber communications systems to the best of our knowledge.Exploiting the low crosstalk between the OAM mode groups in the RCF,the scheme only requires the use of modular 4×4 multiple-input multiple-output processing, and it can therefore be scaled up in the number of MDM channels without increasing the complexity of signal processing. | Junwei Zhang Junyi Liu Lei Shen Lei Zhang Jie Luo Jie Liu Siyuan Yu | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,7: | 8
The active-to-passive oxidation transition mechanism and engineering prediction method of C/SiC composites显示文摘This paper studied the active-to-passive oxidative mechanism of C/SiC composite under high temperature and oxidative conditions. An analytic model and computational method were established based on the process of gas diffusion in boundary layer and the equilibrium relations in surface chemical reactions. Simultaneously, an engineering equation to predict the oxygen partial pressure of active-to-passive transition was derived under the specific temperature zone. The results indicated that the active-to-passive oxidation transition of C/SiC is closely related to the composition of the material. At certain temperature and oxygen partial pressure conditions, the composite with high carbon content is prone to cause active oxidation which is negative to the oxidation resistance of the material. | DENG DaiYing LUO XiaoGuang CHEN SiYuan YU JiJun AI BangCheng | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,6: | 7
Improvements on radiation-hardened performance of static induction transistor显示文摘The radiation-hardened performances of static induction transistor (SIT) have been studied in depth in this paper. The effects of radiation of electron beam on the I-V characteristics, carrier distribution and potential distribution in the channel of SIT have been represented. A large number of electron-hole pairs are generated in the depletion region of reversely biased gate-channel PN junction. The radiation-generated electrons drift towards the drain region at high positive potential, while generated holes flow into gate region biased to the lowest potential. With the accumulation of holes in gate region, the gate potential is boosted, resulting in a decrease in the height of potential barrier in channel, and an increase in drain current. I-V characteristics of SIT in the presence of radiation have been theoretically derived, and compared with experimental results. With the increase in thickness of epitaxial layer, the radiation-hardened capability of SIT is continuously improved until the optimum thickness of 26 μm is reached. The optimum matching relationship among geometric, material and technological parameters has been represented to acquire excellent radiation-hardened performances of SIT. | WANG YongShun LUO XianLiang LI HaiRong WANG ZiTing WU Rong ZHANG CaiZhen LI SiYuan | 2010 | Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,5: | 6
Searching for the Nano-Hertz Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background with the Chinese Pulsar Timing Array Data ReleaseⅠ显示文摘Observing and timing a group of millisecond pulsars with high rotational stability enables the direct detection of gravitational waves(GWs).The GW signals can be identified from the spatial correlations encoded in the times-of-arrival of widely spaced pulsar-pairs.The Chinese Pulsar Timing Array(CPTA)is a collaboration aiming at the direct GW detection with observations carried out using Chinese radio telescopes. This short article serves as a“table of contents”for a forthcoming series of papers related to the CPTA Data Release 1(CPTA DR1)which uses observations from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope. Here, after summarizing the time span and accuracy of CPTA DR1,we report the key results of our statistical inference finding a correlated signal with amplitude logA_(c)=-14.4_(-2.8)^(+1.0)for spectral index in the range ofα∈[-1.8,1.5]assuming a GW background(GWB)induced quadrupolar correlation. The search for the Hellings–Downs(HD)correlation curve is also presented, where some evidence for the HD correlation has been found that a 4.6σstatistical significance is achieved using the discrete frequency method around the frequency of 14 n Hz.We expect that the future International Pulsar Timing Array data analysis and the next CPTA data release will be more sensitive to the n Hz GWB,which could verify the current results. | Heng Xu Siyuan Chen Yanjun Guo Jinchen Jiang Bojun Wang Jiangwei Xu Zihan Xue RNicolas Caballero Jianping Yuan Yonghua Xu Jingbo Wang Longfei Hao Jingtao Luo Kejia Lee Jinlin Han Peng Jiang Zhiqiang Shen Min Wang Na Wang Renxin Xu Xiangping Wu Richard Manchester Lei Qian Xin Guan Menglin Huang Chun Sun Yan Zhu | 2023 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,7: | 3
A pulsed switching peroxi-coagulation process to control hydroxyl radical production and to enhance 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid degradation显示文摘The aim of this study was to develop a new pulsed switching peroxi-coagulation system to control hydroxyl radical(∙OH)production and to enhance 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid(2,4-D)degradation.The system was constructed with a sacrifice iron anode,a Pt anode, and a gas diffusion cathode.Production of H_(2)O_(2) and Fe^(2+)was controlled separately by time delayers with different pulsed switching frequencies.Under current densities of 5.0 mA/cm^(2)(H_(2)O_(2))and 0.5 mA/cm^(2)(Fe^(2+)),the∙OH production was optimized with the pulsed switching frequency of 1.0 s(H_(2)O_(2)):0.3 s(Fe^(2+))and the ratio of H_(2)O_(2) to Fe^(2+)molar concentrations of 6.6.Under the optimal condition,2,4-D with an initial concentration of 500 mg/L was completely removed in the system within 240 min.The energy consumption for the 2,4-D removal in the system was much lower than that in the electro-Fenton process(686 vs.13610 kWh/kg TOC).The iron consumption in the system was~20 times as low as that in the peroxi-coagulation process(19620 vs.3940400 mg/L)within 240 min.The system should be a promising peroxi-coagulation method for organic pollutants removal in wastewater. | Yaobin Lu Songli He Dantong Wang Siyuan Luo Aiping Liu Haiping Luo Guangli Liu Renduo Zhang | 2018 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2018,12,5: | 3
Synthesis of biodegradable waterborne phosphatidylcholine polyurethanes for soft tissue engineering applications显示文摘To further improve the biocompatibility of polyurethanes,a new lysine 2-(2-aminoethoxy)ethanol phosphatidylcholine(LAPC)is synthesized to use as chain extender for preparing a series of phosphatidylcholine polyurethanes(PCPUs).Poly(e-caprolactone)(PCL)and poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)are used as soft segments, and L-lysine ethyl ester diisocyanate(LDI),LAPC and L-lysine are used as hard segments. The obtained PCPUs exhibit appropriate mechanical properties with break elongation of 1000–1700%,tensile strength of 7–22 MPa,and relatively high elastic modulus of 11–18 MPa,which could admirably satisfy the requirement for soft tissue engineering scaffolds. The phosphatidylcholine structures can increase the hydrophilicity of PCPU surfaces, which effectively reduce protein adsorption and platelet adhesion while promoting the cell proliferation. In addition, the LAPC chain extender,PCPU films and ultimate degradation products of PCPUs are proved to be nontoxic in cytotoxicity test.More interestingly, the cytokine release test of macrophages manifests that both LAPC and PCPU degradation products could effectively improve the proliferation of macrophages and induce them into a wound-healing phenotype. Thus, the obtained PCPUs have greatly potential applications of soft tissue engineering scaffolds for tissue repair and wound healing. | Hongye Hao Ya Deng Yingke Wu Siyuan Liu Weiwei Lin Jiehua Li Feng Luo | 2017 | Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,2: | 3
Histones released by NETosis enhance the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 by bridging the spike protein subunit 2 and sialic acid on host cells显示文摘Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)can capture and kill viruses, such as influenza viruses, human immunodeficiency virus(HIV),and respiratory syncytial virus(RSV),thus contributing to host defense.Contrary to our expectation,we show here that the histones released by NETosis enhance the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2,as found by using live SARS-CoV-2 and two pseudovirus systems as well as a mouse model. The histone H3 or H4 selectively binds to subunit 2 of the spike(S)protein,as shown by a biochemical binding assay, surface plasmon resonance and binding energy calculation as well as the construction of a mutant S protein by replacing four acidic amino acids.Sialic acid on the host cell surface is the key molecule to which histones bridge subunit 2 of the S protein. Moreover, histones enhance cell-cell fusion. Finally, treatment with an inhibitor of NETosis, histone H3 or H4,or sialic acid notably affected the levels of sgRNA copies and the number of apoptotic cells in a mouse model. These findings suggest that SARS-CoV-2 could hijack histones from neutrophil NETosis to promote its host cell attachment and entry process and may be important in exploring pathogenesis and possible strategies to develop new effective therapies for COVID-19. | Weiqi Hong Jingyun Yang Jun Zou Zhenfei Bi Cai He Hong Lei Xuemei He Xue Li Aqu Alu Wenyan Ren Zeng Wang Xiaohua Jiang Kunhong Zhong Guowen Jia Yun Yang Wenhai Yu Qing Huang Mengli Yang Yanan Zhou Yuan Zhao Dexuan Kuang Junbin Wang Haixuan Wang Siyuan Chen Min Luo Ziqi Zhang Tiangi Lu Li Chen Haiying Que Zhiyao He Qiu Sun Wei Wang Guobo Shen Guangwen Lu Zhiwei Zhao Li Yang Jinliang Yang Zhenling Wang Jiong Li Xiangrong Song Lunzhi Dai Chong Chen Jia Geng Maling Gou Lu Chen Haohao Dong Yong Peng Canhua Huang Zhiyong Qian Wei Cheng Changfa Fan Yuquan Wei Zhaoming Su Aiping Tong Shuaiyao Lu Xiaozhong Peng Xiawei Wei | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,5: | 2
Repurposing econazole as a pharmacological autophagy inhibitor to treat pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma显示文摘Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is characterized by the highest mortality among carcinomas. The pathogenesis of PDAC requires elevated autophagy, inhibition of which using hydroxychloroquine has shown promise. However, current realization is impeded by its suboptimal use and unpredictable toxicity.Attempts to identify novel autophagy-modulating agents from already approved drugs offer a rapid and accessible approach. Here, using a patient-derived organoid model,we performed a comparative analysis of therapeutic responses among various antimalarial/fungal/parasitic/viral agents, through which econazole(ECON),an antifungal compound, emerged as the top candidate.Further testing in cell-line and xenograft models of PDAC validated this activity, which occurred as a direct consequence of dysfunctional autophagy.More specifically,ECON boosted autophagy initiation but blocked lysosome biogenesis.RNA sequencing analysis revealed that this autophagic induction was largely attributed to the altered expression of activation transcription factor 3(ATF3).Increased nuclear import of ATF3 and its transcriptional repression of inhibitor of differentiation-1(ID-1)led to inactivation of the AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)pathway, thus giving rise to autophagosome accumulation in PDAC cells. The magnitude of the increase in autophagosomes was sufficient to elicit ER stress-mediated apoptosis.Furthermore,ECON,as an autophagy inhibitor, exhibited synergistic effects with trametinib on PDAC.This study provides direct preclinical and experimental evidence for the therapeutic efficacy of ECON in PDAC treatment and reveals a mechanism whereby ECON inhibits PDAC growth. | Ningna Weng Siyuan Qin Jiayang Liu Xing Huang Jingwen Jiang Li Zhou Zhe Zhang Na Xie Kui Wang Ping Jin Maochao Luo Liyuan Peng Edouard C.Nice Ajay Goel Suxia Han Canhua Huang Qing Zhu | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,7: | 2
Biomarkers of aging显示文摘Aging biomarkers are a combination of biological parameters to(i)assess age-related changes,(ii)track the physiological aging process, and(iii)predict the transition into a pathological status.Although a broad spectrum of aging biomarkers has been developed, their potential uses and limitations remain poorly characterized. An immediate goal of biomarkers is to help us answer the following three fundamental questions in aging research:How old are we?Why do we get old?And how can we age slower? This review aims to address this need. Here,we summarize our current knowledge of biomarkers developed for cellular, organ, and organismal levels of aging, comprising six pillars:physiological characteristics, medical imaging, histological features, cellular alterations, molecular changes, and secretory factors. To fulfill all these requisites,we propose that aging biomarkers should qualify for being specific, systemic, and clinically relevant. | Aging Biomarker Consortium Hainan Bao Jiani Cao Mengting Chen Min Chen Wei Chen Xiao Chen Yanhao Chen Yu Chen Yutian Chen Zhiyang Chen Jagadish K Chhetri Yingjie Ding Junlin Feng Jun Guo Mengmeng Guo Chuting He Yujuan Jia Haiping Jiang Ying Jing Dingfeng Li Jiaming Li Jingyi Li Qinhao Liang Rui Liang Feng Liu Xiaoqian Liu Zuojun Liu Oscar Junhong Luo Jianwei Lv Jingyi Ma Kehang Mao Jiawei Nie Xinhua Qiao Xinpei Sun Xiaoqiang Tang Jianfang Wang Qiaoran Wang Siyuan Wang Xuan Wang Yaning Wang Yuhan Wang Rimo Wu Kai Xia Fu-Hui Xiao Lingyan Xu Yingying Xu Haoteng Yan Liang Yang Ruici Yang Yuanxin Yang Yilin Ying Le Zhang Weiwei Zhang Wenwan Zhang Xing Zhang Zhuo Zhang Min Zhou Rui Zhou Qingchen Zhu Zhengmao Zhu Feng Cao Zhongwei Cao Piu Chan Chang Chen Guobing Chen Hou-Zao Chen Jun Chen Weimin Ci Bi-Sen Ding Qiurong Ding Feng Gao Jing-Dong JHan Kai Huang Zhenyu Ju Qing-Peng Kong Ji Li Jian Li Xin Li Baohua Liu Feng Liu Lin Liu Qiang Liu Qiang Liu Xingguo Liu Yong Liu Xianghang Luo Shuai Ma Xinran Ma Zhiyong Mao Jing Nie Yaojin Peng Jing Qu Jie Ren Ruibao Ren Moshi Song Zhou Songyang Yi Eve Sun Yu Sun Mei Tian Shusen Wang Si Wang Xia Wang Xiaoning Wang Yan-Jiang Wang Yunfang Wang Catherine CL Wong Andy Peng Xiang Yichuan Xiao Zhengwei Xie Daichao Xu Jing Ye Rui Yue Cuntai Zhang Hongbo Zhang Liang Zhang Weiqi Zhang Yong Zhang Yun-Wu Zhang Zhuohua Zhang Tongbiao Zhao Yuzheng Zhao Dahai Zhu Weiguo Zou Gang Pei Guang-Hui Liu | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,5: | 2

Dyskinesia is Closely Associated with Synchronization of Theta Oscillatory Activity Between the Substantia Nigra Pars Reticulata and Motor Cortex in the Off L-dopa State in Rats显示文摘Excessive theta(θ)frequency oscillation and synchronization in the basal ganglia(BG)has been reported in elderly parkinsonian patients and animal models of levodopa(L-dopa)-induced dyskinesia(LID),particularly theθoscillation recorded during periods when L-dopa is withdrawn(the off L-dopa state). To gain insight into processes underlying this activity,we explored the relationship between primary motor cortex(M1)oscillatory activity and BG output in LID.We recorded local field potentials in the substantia nigra pars reticulata(SNr)and M1 of awake, inattentive resting rats before and after L-dopa priming in Sham control,Parkinson disease model, and LID model groups. We found that chronic L-dopa increasedθsynchronization and information flow between the SNr and M1 in off L-dopa state LID rats, with a SNr-to-M1 flow directionality.Compared with the on state,θoscillational activity(θsynchronization and informationflow)during the off state were more closely associated with abnormal involuntary movements. Our findings indicate thatθoscillation in M1 may be consequent to abnormal synchronous discharges in the BG and support the notion that M1θoscillation may participate in the induction of dyskinesia. | Jiazhi Chen Qiang Wang Nanxiang Li Shujie Huang Min Li Junbin Cai Yuzheng Wang Huantao Wen Siyuan Lv Ning Wang Jinyan Wang Fei Luo Wangming Zhang | 2021 | Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,3: | 1

A multifunctional optoelectronic device based on 2D material with wide bandgap显示文摘Low-dimensional materials exhibit unique quantum confinement effects and morphologies as a result of their nanoscale size in one or more dimensions, making them exhibit distinctive physical properties compared to bulk counterparts.Among all low-dimensional materials, due to their atomic level thickness,two-dimensional materials possess extremely large shape anisotropy and consequently are speculated to have large optically anisotropic absorption. In this work,we demonstrate an optoelectronic device based on the combination of two-dimensional material and carbon dot with wide bandgap.High-efficient luminescence of carbon dot and extremely large shape anisotropy(>1500)of two-dimensional material with the wide bandgap of>4 eV cooperatively endow the optoelectronic device with multi-functions of optically anisotropic blue-light emission, visible light modulation,wavelength-dependent ultraviolet-light detection as well as blue fluorescent film assemble. This research opens new avenues for constructing multi-function-integrated optoelectronic devices via the combination of nanomaterials with different dimensions. | Hongwei Xu Jingwei Liu Sheng Wei Jie Luo Rui Gong Siyuan Tian Yiqi Yang Yukun Lei Xinman Chen Jiahong Wang Gaokuo Zhong Yongbing Tang Feng Wang Hui-Ming Cheng Baofu Ding | 2023 | Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,12: | 0

Targeting PSAT1 to mitigate metastasis in tumors with p53-72Pro variant显示文摘The single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)of p53,in particular the codon 72 variants, has recently been implicated as a critical regulator in tumor progression. However, the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here we found that cancer cells carrying codon 72-Pro variant of p53 showed impaired metastatic potential upon serine supplementation.Proteome-wide mapping of p53-interacting proteins uncovered a specific interaction of the codon 72 proline variant(but not p5372R)with phosphoserine aminotransferase 1(PSAT1).Interestingly,p53^(72P)-PSAT1 interaction resulted in dissociation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γcoactivator 1α(PGC-1α)that otherwise bound to p53^(72P),leading to subsequent nuclear translocation of PGC-1αand activation of oxidative phosphorylation(OXPHOS)and tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle.Depletion of PSAT1 restored p53^(72P)-PGC-1αinteraction and impeded the OXPHOS and TCA function, resulting in mitochondrial dysfunction and metastasis suppression.Notably, pharmacological targeting the PSAT1-p53^(72P)interaction by aminooxyacetic acid(AOA)crippled the growth of liver cancer cells carrying the p53^(72P)variant in both in vitro and patient-derived xenograft models. Moreover,AOA plus regorafenib,an FDA-proved drug for hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal cancer, achieved a better anti-tumor effect on tumors carrying the p53^(72P)variant.Therefore,our findings identified a gain of function of the p53^(72P)variant on mitochondrial function and provided a promising precision strategy to treat tumors vulnerable to p53^(72P)-PSAT1 perturbation. | Jingwen Jiang Hai-Ning Chen Ping Jin Li Zhou Liyuan Peng Zhao Huang Siyuan Qin Bowen Li Hui Ming Maochao Luo Na Xie Wei Gao Edouard C.Nice Qiang Yu Canhua Huang | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,3: | 0
Extracellular vesicles from human urine-derived stem cells delay aging through the transfer of PLAU and TIMP1显示文摘Aging increases the risks of various diseases and the vulnerability to death.Cellular senescence is a hallmark of aging that contributes greatly to aging and aging-related diseases. This study demonstrates that extracellular vesicles from human urine-derived stem cells(USC-EVs)efficiently inhibit cellular senescence in vitro and in vivo. The intravenous injection of USC-EVs improves cognitive function, increases physical fitness and bone quality, and alleviates aging-related structural changes in different organs of senescence-accelerated mice and natural aging mice. The anti-aging effects of USC-EVs are not obviously affected by the USC donors’ages, genders,or health status.Proteomic analysis reveals that USC-EVs are enriched with plasminogen activator urokinase(PLAU)and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1(TIMP1).These two proteins contribute importantly to the anti-senescent effects of USC-EVs associated with the inhibition of matrix metalloproteinases,cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A(P16INK4a),and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1A(P21cip1).These findings suggest a great potential of autologous USC-EVs as a promising anti-aging agent by transferring PLAU and TIMP1 proteins. | Shanshan Rao Zehui He Zun Wang Hao Yin Xiongke Hu Yijuan Tan Tengfei Wan Hao Zhu Yi Luo Xin Wang Hongming Li Zhenxing Wang Xinyue Hu Chungu Hong Yiyi Wang Mingjie Luo Wei Du Yuxuan Qian Siyuan Tang Hui Xie Chunyuan Chen | 2024 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2024,14,3: | 0

A nonmulberry silk fibroin-based robust mandruka for rapid hemostasis treatment显示文摘Uncontrolled hemorrhage resulting from traumas causes severe health risks. There is an urgent need for expeditious hemostatic materials to treat bleeding incidents. Here,we developed a natural protein-based hemostatic sponge extracted from nonmulberry cocoons that exhibited rapid coagulation and effective absorption. We first built a degumming and dissolution system suitable for the Dictyoploca japonica cocoons to obtain regenerated silk fibroin(DSF).The DSF was then combined with carboxymethyl chitosan(CMCS)by glutaraldehyde(GA)crosslinking to ensure the structural stability of sponges. The resulting DSF–CMCS–GA exhibited remarkable hemostatic properties, displaying the highest absorption rate.It also demonstrated comparable efficacy to commercial hemostatic sponges. The blood-clotting index and hemolysis test showed that the prepared sponge possessed hemostatic activity and good hemocompatibility.Compared with mulberry silk fibroin hemostatic sponges(SF–CMCS–GA),DSF–CMCS–GA showed slightly better effects, making them a potential alternative to mulberry silk.In conclusion, our study introduces the use of Dictyoploca japonica silk fibroin for hemostasis, highlighting the exploitation of wild silkworm resources and providing an excellent silk fibroin-based hemostatic sealant for acute accident wounds and biomedical applications involving massive hemorrhage. | Hao Zhang Siyuan Luo Weili Yang Qisheng Luo Perumal Ramesh Kannan Yao Li Xiangdong Kong | 2023 | Frontiers of Materials Science2023,17,4: | 0
