1One-year clinical study of NeuroR egen scaffold implantation following scar resection in complete chronic spinal cord injury patients显示文摘The objective of this clinical study was to assess the safety and feasibility of the collagen scaffold, Neuro Regen scaffold, one year after scar tissue resection and implantation. Scar tissue is a physical and chemical barrier that prevents neural regeneration. However, identification of scar tissue is still a major challenge. In this study, the nerve electrophysiology method was used to distinguish scar tissue from normal neural tissue, and then different lengths of scars ranging from 0.5–4.5 cm were surgically resected in five complete chronic spinal cord injury(SCI) patients. The NeuroR egen scaffold along with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMMCs), which have been proven to promote neural regeneration and SCI recovery in animal models, were transplanted into the gap in the spinal cord following scar tissue resection. No obvious adverse effects related to scar resection or Neuro Regen scaffold transplantation were observed immediately after surgery or at the 12-month follow-up. In addition, patients showed partially autonomic nervous function improvement, and the recovery of somatosensory evoked potentials(SSEP) from the lower limbs was also detected. 2Human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells loaded on linear ordered collagen scaffold improves functional recovery after completely transected spinal cord injury in canine显示文摘Traumatic spinal cord injury(SCI) is a major challenge in the clinic. In this study, we sought to examine the synergistic effects of linear ordered collagen scaffold(LOCS) and human placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells(hPMSCs) when transplanted into completely transected beagle dogs. After 36 weeks observation, we found that LOCS+hPMSCs implants promoted better hindlimb locomotor recovery than was observed in the non-treatment(control) group and LOCS group. Histological analysis showed that the regenerated tissue after treatment was well integrated with the host tissue, and dramatically reduced the volume of cystic and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans(CSPGs) expression. Furthermore, the LOCS+hPMSCs group also showed more neuron-specific βIII-tubulin(Tuj-1)-and NeuN-positive neurons in the lesion area, as well as axonal regeneration, remyelination and synapse formation in the lesion site. Additionally, dogs in the LOCS+hPMSCs group experienced enhanced sprouting of both ascending(CGRP-positive) sensory fibers and descending(5-HT-and TH-positive) motor fibers at the lesion area. All these data together suggested that the combined treatment had beneficial effects on neuronal regeneration and functional improvement in a canine complete transection model. 3Efficient Protocols for the General Millionaires' Problem显示文摘Secure multiparty computation(SMC) is a research focusing in the international cryptographic community. The protocols used to address the millionaires' problem are the basic building blocks of most SMC protocols and their efficiency dominates that of many other SMC protocols. To the best of our knowledge, almost all protocols used to address the millionaires' problem are based on integers, which means that their applications are limited. In this study, we propose precise and efficient protocols for rational numbers based on additively homomorphic encryptions. One of our protocols is inspired by computational geometry and it reduces the millionaires' problem to computing the area of a triangle formed by three private points. This approach can determine whether the relationship between two private inputs is greater than, equal to or less than, and it has a much lower computational complexity compared with existing methods. We proved that these protocols are secure using simulation paradigm. 5A micro-sphere catalyst complex with nano CaCO_3 precursor for hydrogen production used in ReSER process显示文摘This paper describes the preparation and evaluation of a micro-sphere catalytic complex for the hydrogen production in a Reactive Sorption Enhanced Reforming (ReSER) process. The catalytic complex made by a spray technique has a dual function containing Ni as a catalytic material and CaO as an adsorption material used in the ReSER process. The attrition characteristics of the catalytic complex are acceptable for the commercial used. The nano CaCO3 material used as a precursor of CaO showed a desirable durability with a CO2 sorption capacity of 0.6 mol CO2/kg after 10 repeating cycles under the carbonation temperature of 600 ℃, a CO2 partial pressure of 0.02 MPa, and a calcination temperature of 750 ℃ in N2 measured by a thermal gravimetric analyzer. The testing of the catalytic complex for ReSER showed a hydrogen yield of over 95 % (v/v) in the laboratory fixed fluidized bed reactor. 6Simultaneous determination of 15 pesticide residues in Chinese cabbage and cucumber by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry utilizing online turbulent flow chromatography显示文摘In this experiment,a liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method was built to determine 15 pesticide residues in Chinese cabbage and cucumber samples based on online turbulent flow chromatography purification.After modified quick,easy,cheap,effective,rugged,and safe(QuEChERS)extraction,extracts were directly injected to the TLX(TurboFlow Liquid Xcalibur)system and brought to TurboFlow™columns for on-line purification and then transferred to analytical column for further separation and analysis.TurboFlow™columns types,transfer flow rate,and transfer time were optimized.Limits of detection and limits of quantification of the method obtained for 15 pesticide residues were ranged between 0.2–1.0μg/kg and 0.5–2.0μg/kg in Chinese cabbage and cucumber samples.Recoveries of pesticide residues were in range of 75.3%–103.7%.Matrix effects for 15 pesticides were in range of 5.6%–106.6%.The developed method has been successfully used for the determination of 15 pesticide residues in real samples.Sufang Fan Junmei Ma Meirong Cao Juan Wang Leilei Zhang Yan Zhang Qiang Li Jia Chen 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,1:5
7In vitro assessment of thyroid hormone receptor activity of four organophosphate esters显示文摘Previous animal experiments have implied that organophosphate esters(OPEs) have a disruption effect on the thyroid endocrine system. However, knowledge of the toxicological mechanism remains limited. In this study, the activities of four OPEs have been characterized against the thyroid hormone(TH) nuclear receptor(TR) using two in vitro models, with the aim of evaluating their toxicity mechanisms towards the TR. The results of a TH-dependent cell proliferation assay showed that tris(2-chloro-1-(chloromethyl)ethyl)phosphate(TDCPP) could induce cell growth, while the other three OPEs had no effect. The results of a luciferase reporter gene assay revealed that all four of the OPEs tested in the current study showed agonistic activity towards TRβ, with TDCPP being the most potent one. Moreover, molecular docking revealed that all the tested OPEs could fit into the ligand binding pocket of TRβ, with TDCPP binding more effectively than the other three OPEs. 8The temporal dynamics of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella enterica and predominant serovars in China显示文摘Salmonella enterica is one of the most common bacterial pathogens in humans and animals.Systematic studies on the trends and geographical distribution of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella and dominant serovars have been well studied in European and American countries while not in China.Here,taking the One-Health strategy,we used>35000 Salmonella enterica isolates to explore the temporal and spatial dynamics of dominant serovars in China.We found that Salmonella Typhimurium was the dominant serovar causing human infection in China,which was consistent with Australia but inconsistent with North American and European countries.The proportion of Salmonella serovars Typhimurium,London,Rissen,Corvallis,Meleagridis,Kentucky,and Goldcoast showed an increasing trend during 2006-2019.We randomly selected 1962 isolates for comparative genomics and antimicrobial resistance studies and found that the number of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)per isolate increased 1.84 and 2.69 times of human and non-human origins,respectively,spanning 14 years.The proportion of antimicrobial-resistant Salmonella isolates had an increasing trend during 2006-2019,especially beta-lactam,quinolone,tetracycline,and rifampicin resistance.Moreover,we found that higher diversity of sequence types(STs)in S.Typhimurium than in other serovars,ST34 from pig and ST 19 from chicken origin,were mainly associated with isolates causing child and adult gastro-infection,respectively.Our results fill in the data gap on the trends of dominant serovars and antimicrobial resistance of Salmonella enterica in China.These data provide useful information for public health decision-makers prioritizing interventions for foodborne diseases and food safety.Yanan Wang Yue Liu Na Lyu Zhiyuan Li Sufang Ma Demin Cao Yuanlong Pan Yongfei Hu Hua Huang George F.Gao Xuebin Xu Baoli Zhu 2023National Science Review2023,10,3:4
9Spatial pattern dynamics among co-dominant populations in early secondary forests in Southwest China显示文摘The canopy of subtropical natural forests usually consists of several co-dominant populations(CDPs),which play a crucial role in forest structure,formation of the forest environment,and ecological function.However,little attention has been given to changes in spatial patterns in CDPs during natural succession.Cyclobalanopsis glauca(Thunb.)Oerst.,Quercus variabilis Blume,and Pinus yunnanensis var.tenuifolia W.C.Cheng & Y.W.Law are canopy species that form CDPs in zonal forests along the Nanpan River in southwest China.We used the g(r) function and its bivariate distribution model,g_(12)(r),which is based on distances between pairs of points,to explore the dynamics of the three CDP species with respect to distribution patterns and spatial correlations in two secondary forests(one 30-year-old forest [30-YF] and one 57-year-old forest [57-YF]).The following key results were obtained:(1) there was a clumped pattern in the 30-YF,but the intensity of aggregation varied among populations and life stages.The distribution pattern gradually shifted to become random with longer succes sion time(i.e.,30-YF vs.57-YF),expansion of the observation scale(r=0-20 m),and at later life stages.(2) Aside from the mid-sized C.glauca trees and large P.yunnanensis trees,the trees repulsed each other at certain scales(r=0-2,5-6,11-12,14-16 m) in the 30-YF.Almost all of the life stages in the CDPs were independently correlated.This independent correlation was exacerbated by a longer succession time.(3) An increase in life stages and longer succession also promoted independent changes in intraspecific correlations.(4) Intraspecific correlations were stronger than interspecific correlations.Our results showed that reducing exclusive competition is essential to coexistence in CDPs.Inter-and intra-specific repulsion may occur at the same time,but intraspecific repulsion was the main driving force behind the random distributions and independent correlations.Yuanfa Li Minghui Li Angang Ming Hongxiang Wang Sufang Yu Shaoming Ye 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,4:3
10Synthesis of stable 2-sulfoniophenolate显示文摘A series of novel stable 2-sulfoniophenolates (5a-5e, 7a, 7b) were synthesized for the first time by the reactions of 3,7-dinitrodibenzobromolium bisulfate (3) with some sulfoxides and the reactions of 3,7-dinitrodibenzocycloiodonium salts (6a, 6b) with dimethyl sulfoxide under basic condition. Their structures were established by elemental analysis, NMR, MS, IR, etc. The role of the amine (or other basic compounds, such as NaOH, Na2CO3, etc.) in the reactions was discussed. 11Research on protoplast preparation and culture in Gladiolus hybridus Hort显示文摘Protoplasts prepared from the aseptic leaves of Rose Supreme in Gladiolus hybridus Hort. were cultured. The yield of protoplasts with vigour was the highest under the following conditions: 1.5% cellulase Onzuka RS, 0.5% pectinase Y-23, 0.6 mol· L^(-1) mannitol, pH 5.8, digestion time 2 h, and temperature 27℃. After isolation and purification, protoplasts were cultured in solid and liquid combined medium, which included KM8P, 0.6 mol· L^(-1) mannitol, 1.0 mg· L^(-1) 2, 4-D, 0.2 mg· L^(-1) NAA and 0.2 mg· L^(-1) KT. 12Moderate papain addition improves the physicochemical,microbiological,flavor and sensorial properties of Chouguiyu,traditional Chinese fermented fish显示文摘The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of papain on the physicochemical and microbiological properties,volatile compound profiles,and sensorial attributes of Chouguiyu.Papain was applied at a dose of 10,50,200,400 U/g fish.Results showed that papain addition improved the release of free amino acids,essential amino acids,eicosapentaenoi acid(EPA,C20:5n3),and docosapentenoic acid(DPA,C22:5n6),respectively.Lower biogenic amines content,higher the volatile compound concentrations and relative abundance of Lactobacillales were also observed.Further results showed that the papain dose group decreased the fermentation time from 10 to 7 days while good organoleptic quality was remained,especially in the 200 U/g dose group.The redundancy analysis(RDA)showed a high correlation between Lactobacillus and the key volatile compounds in the 200 U/g and 400 U/g groups,which indicated that Lactobacillus could contribute to the fatty flavor.In summary,proper papain addition(i.e.200 U/g or 400 U/g)could reduce biogenic amines contents and maintain acceptable sensorial properties of Chouguiyu in a shorter fermentation time.Wenhuan Xu Cuicui Jiang Aoxue Liu Ruiqi Bao Wenqing Wang Zuoli Zhang Chaofan Ji Huipeng Liang Sufang Zhang Xinping Lin 2022Food Bioscience2022,46,2:2
13Antrodia cinnamomea exerts an anti-hepatoma effect by targeting PI3K/AKT-mediated cell cycle progression in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Antrodia cinnamomea is extensively used as a traditional medicine to prevention and treatment of liver cancer.However,its comprehensive chemical fingerprint is uncertain,and the mechanisms,especially the potential therapeutic target for anti-hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)are still unclear.Using UPLC-Q-TOF/MS,139 chemical components were identified in A.cinnamomea dropping pills(ACDPs).Based on these chemical components,network pharmacology demonstrated that the targets of active components were significantly enriched in the pathways in cancer,which were closely related with cell proliferation regulation.Next,HCC data was downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus database(GEO).The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and Dis Ge NET were analyzed by bioinformatics,and 79 biomarkers were obtained.Furtherly,nine targets of ACDP active components were revealed,and they were significantly enriched in PI3 K/AKT and cell cycle signaling pathways.The affinity between these targets and their corresponding active ingredients was predicted by molecular docking.Finally,in vivo and in vitro experiments showed that ACDPs could reduce the activity of PI3 K/AKT signaling pathway and downregulate the expression of cell cycle-related proteins,contributing to the decreased growth of liver cancer.Altogether,PI3 K/AKT-cell cycle appears as the significant central node in anti-liver cancer of A.Cinnamomea.Yan Zhang Pin Lv Junmei Ma Ning Chen Huishan Guo Yan Chen Xiaoruo Gan Rong Wang Xuqiang Liu Sufang Fan Bin Cong Wenyi Kang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:2
14Expression of Pseudorabies Virus gE Core Epitopes in Escherichia coli Strain BL21 and Utilization of Indirect PRV gE-ELISA显示文摘Pseudorabies virus glycoprotein E( PRV gE) has been recognized as a suitable diagnostic antigen for pseudorabies. In order to produce gE antigen in large quantities and at low cost,a gene fragment encoding PRV gE core epitopes was expressed in E. coli BL21 expression system. SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting revealed that the expression product in culture supernatant of E. coli BL21 was a recombinant protein,approximately 51. 8 Kd. At 5 h post-induction,protein concentration assay showed that the expression product amounted to 1. 65 mg /ml,accounting for 24. 17% of total proteins in the culture supernatant. An indirect PRV gE-ELISA was established by using the recombinant expression product as a coating antigen. Cross-reactivity assay showed that this antigen was PRV specific. In addition,the assay was consistently reproducible. 15Synergistic effects of phosphoric acid modified hydrochar and coal gangue-based zeolite on bioavailability and accumulation of cadmium and lead in contaminated soil显示文摘In this paper,a novel compound was developed by mixing H_(3)PO_(4)-modified cauliflower leaves hydrochar(CLH)and coal gangue-based Na-X zeolite(ZL).An alkaline soil contaminated with cadmium(Cd)and lead(Pb)was amended through the individual and synergistic application of CLH and ZL(1%CLH,2%CLH,1%ZL,2%ZL and 1%CLH+1%ZL),and Chinese cabbage was grown on it.Individual application of CLH was superior to ZL on decreasing the pH of alkaline soil and increasing soil available phosphorus(Olsen-P)and soil organic matter(SOM).In contrast,their combined application significantly improved the soil cation exchange capacity(CEC).Besides,the 1%CLH+1%ZL was the most efficient treatment in decreasing diethylenetriamine pentaacetate(DTPA)-extractable Cd/Pb and concentrations of these two metals in cabbage root and shoot.Their synergistic application could better increase Cd and Pb immobilization and cabbage yield than their alone application.Furthermore,the immobilization of Pb for all treatments was higher than that of Cd.The synergistic immobilization mechanism of CLH and ZL reflected that the CLH precipitated and complexed with these two metals,which may block the pores of hydrochar or wrap on the surface of hydrochar.So the continuous adsorption and complexation were prevented.Nevertheless,ZL could probably alleviate this obstacle.This finding provides helpful information about using CLH combined with ZL as a soil stabilizer to immobilize heavy metals in contaminated alkaline soil.Qilong Ge Qi Tian Sufang Wang Fang Zhu 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,6:1

17Melittin inhibited glycolysis and induced cell apoptosis in cisplatinresistant lung adenocarcinoma cells via TRIM8显示文摘Chemotherapy is widely used for non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients at a late stage;however,NSCLC patients often acquire resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs,thus limiting the therapy efficacy.Melittin,a major component of bee venom,possesses anti-tumor activity in various cancer cells.Here,we examined the effects of melittin on A549/DDP cisplatin-resistant lung adenocarcinoma cells and xenografts formed from this cell line and investigated the possible target of melittin.Treatment with melittin resulted in the induction of cell apoptosis,glycolysis inhibition,and reduction of phosphorylated AKT(p-AKT)in A549/DDP cells.We also identified that tripartite motif-containing 8(TRIM8)was a potential target of melittin.Moreover,we found that TRIM8 mRNA expression was elevated in NSCLC specimens as compared to adjacent normal tissues(N=25)and that patients with high expression of TRIM8 had a poor prognosis for lung adenocarcinoma.The knockdown of TRIM8 had a similar effect of melittin,while overexpression of TRIM8 reversed the effects of melittin in A549/DDP cells.More importantly,we revealed that melittin enhanced cisplatin sensitivity in A549/DDP cells and tumor growth in vivo using a xenograft model of A549/DDP cells.In conclusion,melittin appears to be a potential chemotherapy sensitization agent in NSCLC.SUFANG ZHANG XIANG LV LI LI YINGBIN LUO HUINAN XIANG LIXIN WANG YAN LI 2021BIOCELL2021,45,1:1
