1The action of medicinal animal horns on Escherichia coli growth investigated by microcalorimetry and chemometric analysis显示文摘The action of Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum (CCP), Cornu Cervi (CC) and Cornu Saigae Tataricae (CST) on Escherichia coli growth were investigated using microcalorimetry to find the heat change regularity of microbial growth. The similarity of thermogenic curves and thermodynamics parameters were investigated as evaluation index, such as the growth rate constant in the first expo- nential phase (k1), maximum power in the first exponential phase (P1), maximum power in the secondary exponential phase (P2), peak time in the first exponential phase (T1), peak time in the stationary phase (T2) and the total heat production in stage 1 (Q1), and the total heat production in stage 2 (Q2). Chemometric analysis was used as a reference for the bioactivity evaluation of medicinal animal horns. The results indicated that the similarity between CST and the control was smaller than that between CCP, CC and the control. Both CCP and CC could increase the heat in the microbial growth, whereas CST decreased it. 2Remineralization of enamel caries by an amelogenin-derived peptide and fluoride in vitro显示文摘Dental caries is one of the most common oral diseases in the world.This study was tantamount to investigate the combinatory effects of an amelogenin-derived peptide(called QP5)and fluoride on the remineralization of artificial enamel caries.The peptide QP5 was synthesized and characterized,and the binding capability of the peptide on hydroxyapatite(HA)and demineralized tooth enamel surface was analysed.Then,the mineralization function of the peptide and fluoride was studied through the spontaneous mineralization testing and remineralization on enamel caries in vitro.First,the novel peptide QP5 could bind on the hydroxyapatite and demineralized tooth enamel surfaces.Second,QP5 can transitorily stabilize the formation of amorphous calcium phosphate and direct the transformation into hydroxyapatite crystals alone and in combination with fluoride.In addition,compared to blocks treated by peptide QP5 alone or fluoride,the sample blocks showed significantly higher surface microhardness,lower mineral loss and shallower lesion depth after treatment with a combination of QP5 and fluoride at high or low concentrations.The peptide QP5 could control the crystallization of hydroxyapatite,and combinatory application of peptide QP5 and fluoride had a potential synergistic effect on the remineralization of enamel caries.Longjiang Ding Sili Han Kun Wang Sainan Zheng Wenyue Zheng Xiu Peng Yumei Niu Wei Li Linglin Zhang 2020Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,3:6
3Proteolytic processing of SDF-1α by matrix metalloproteinase-2 impairs CXCR4 signaling and reduces neural progenitor cell migration显示文摘Neural stem cells and neural progenitor cells(NPCs)exist throughout life and are mobilized to replace neurons,astrocytes and oligodendrocytes after injury.Str-omal cell-derived factor 1(SDF-1,now named CXCL12)and its receptor CXCR4,an α-chemokine receptor,are critical for NPC migration into damaged areas of the brain.Our previous studies demonstrated that immune activated and/or HIV-1-infected human monocyte-derived-macrophages(MDMs)induced a substantial increase of SDF-1 production by human astrocytes.However,matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-2,a protein up-regulated in HIV-1-infected macrophages,is able to cleave four amino acids from the N-terminus of SDF-1,resulting in a truncated SDF-1(5-67).In this study,we investigate the diverse signaling and function induced by SDF-1α and SDF-1(5-67)in human cortical NPCs.SDF-1(5-67)was generated by incubating human recombinant SDF-1α with MMP-2 followed by protein determination via mass spectrometry,Western blotting and ELISA.SDF-1α induced time-dependent phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases(ERK)1/2,Akt-1,and diminished cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP).In contrast,SDF-1(5-67)failed to induce these signaling.SDF-1α activation of CXCR4 induced migration of NPCs,an effect that is dependent on ERK1/2 and Akt-1 pathways;whereas SDF-1(5-67)failed to induce NPC migration.This observation provides evidence that MMP-2 may affect NPC migration through post-translational processing of SDF-1α.Hui Peng Yumei Wu Zhiyuan Duan Pawel Ciborowski Jialin C.Zheng 2012Protein & Cell2012,3,11:3
4Cobalt(Ⅱ)coordination polymers as anodes for lithium-ion batteries with enhanced capacity and cycling stability显示文摘Coordination polymer Co-btca(H4 btca = 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid) was synthesized using a simply hydrothermal method.In particular,the as-prepared Co-btca was applied as an anode material for lithium-ion battery for the first time.Single crystal X-ray diffraction results indicated that the asprepared Co-btca displayed unique layer structure,which was beneficial to transport Li ions and electrons.Also,owing to the porous structure and appropriate specific surface area,Co-btca electrode delivered a reversible capacity of 801.3 m A h/g after 50 cycles at a current density of 200 m A/g.The reversible capacity of 773.9 m A h/g was maintained after 200 cycles at a current density of 500 m A/g,exhibiting enhanced cycle stability.It also showed improved rate performance,making it a promising anode material and a new choice for lithium-ion batteries.Yumei Luo Lixian Sun Fen Xu Siyue Wei Qingyong Wang Hongliang Peng Chonglin Chen 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,8:1
5Increased plasma leptin as a novel predictor for psychopathological depressive symptoms in chronic schizophrenia显示文摘Background Depressive symptoms are often seen in schizophrenia. The overlap in presentation makes it difficult to distinguish depressive symptoms from the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. The adipokine leptin was found to be altered in both depression and schizophrenia. There are few studies focusing on the prediction of leptin in diagnosis and evaluation of depressive symptoms in schizophrenia.ObjectiveAims To assess the plasma leptin level in patients with schizophrenia and its relationships with depressive symptoms.Methods Cross-sectional studies were applied to(1) compare the levels of plasma leptin between schizophrenia(n=74) and healthy controls(n=50); and(2)investigate the relationship between plasma leptin levels and depressive subscores.Results(1) Plasma leptin levels were significantly higher in patients with schizophrenia than in healthy controls.(2) Correlation analysis revealed a significant negative association between leptin levels and the depressed factor scores on the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS).(3) Stepwise multiple regression analyses identified leptin as an influencing factor for depressed factor score on PANSS.Conclusion Leptin may serve as a predictor for the depressive symptoms of chronic schizophrenia.Jinjie Xu Yumei Jiao Mengjuan Xing Yezhe Lin Yousong Su Wenhua Ding Cuizhen Zhu Yanmin Peng Dake Qi Donghong Cui 2018General Psychiatry2018,31,6:1
6Antithrombotic Management of Atrial Fibrillation Patients Presenting with Coronary Artery Disease:A Consensus Document of the Chinese Society of Cardiology显示文摘The coexistence of coronary artery disease(CAD)and atrial fibrillation(AF)is common in clinical practice.Patients with CAD require antiplatelet therapy to reduce the occurrence of myocardial ischemic events.However,patients with AF at high risk of thromboembolism require oral anticoagulants to reduce the occurrence of thromboembolic events such as stroke.In cases where CAD coexists with AF,the combined use of antiplatelet and anticoagulation therapy can effectively reduce the risk of ischemic and thromboembolic events but increase the risk of bleeding at the same time.The optimal antithrombotic regimen in patients with both CAD and AF has been controversial in clinical practice.In recent years,the expert consensuses on antithrombotic therapy in patients with AF presenting with acute coronary syndrome and/or undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention have been successively released in Europe and North America,and have been updated in a timely manner.In contrast,the guidelines on antithrombotic therapies in China are lacking.Based on published clinical evidence,this consensus incorporated relevant international and Chinese guidelines,consensuses,and expert recommendations,and addressed the issues encountered in the clinical practice of antithrombotic therapy in patients with AF and different types of CAD.The current guideline is of great significance to guide treatment in patients with both CAD and AF in China.Chinese Society of Cardiology of Chinese Medical Association Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Cardiology Zuyi Yuan Shulin Wu Yaling Han Peng Qu Shaowen Liu Changsheng Ma Yumei Xue Xinjun Lei 2021Cardiology Discovery2021,1,1:1

8Directed migration of human neural progenitor cells to interleukin-1βis promoted by chemokines stromal cell-derived factor-1 and monocyte chemotactic factor-1 in mouse brains显示文摘Background:Neurogenesis,including the proliferation,migration and differentiation of neural progenitor cells(NPCs),is impaired in HIV-1 associated dementia(HAD).We previously demonstrated HIV-1-infected macrophages(HIV-MDM)regulate stromal cell-derived factor 1(SDF-1)production in astrocytes through Interleukin-1β(IL-1β).Chemokines are known to induce NPC migration;however,it remains unclear how chemokines produced in inflammation regulate NPC migration.Methods:The secretion of SDF-1 and Monocyte chemotactic preotein-1(MCP-1)in astrocytes upon IL-1βstimulation was measured by ELISA assay.Human NPCs were injected parallel along with IL-1β,SDF-1 or MCP-1 intracranially into basal ganglion 1 mm apart in SCID mice,and immunofluorescent staining was used to study the survival and migration of injected human NPCs.Results:SDF-1 and MCP-1 are secreted by astrocytes upon IL-1βstimulation in a time-dependent manner.Injected human NPCs survived in SCID mice and migrated towards sites of IL-1β,SDF-1 and MCP-1 injection.Conclusions:In conclusion,chemokines SDF-1 or MCP-1 secreted by astrocytes in the presence of IL-1βinjection are attractive to NPCs injected into SCID mouse brains,suggesting that SDF-1 and MCP-1 play important roles in NPC migration during neuroinflammation.Yumei Wu Qiang Chen Hui Peng Huanyu Dou You Zhou Yunlong Huang Jialin C Zheng 2012Translational Neurodegeneration2012,1,1:1

13Delay-dependent exponential stability criteria for stochastic systems with polytopic-type uncertainties显示文摘This paper considers the problem of delay-dependent exponential stability in mean square for stochastic systems with polytopic-type uncertainties and time-varying delay. Applying the descriptor model transformation and introducing free weighting matrices, a new type of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is constructed based on linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and some new delay-dependent criteria are obtained. These criteria include the delay-independent/rate-dependent and delay-dependent/rate-independent exponential stability criteria. These new criteria are less conservative than existing ones. 14Climate Suitability Assessment of Human Settlements for Regions along the Belt and Road显示文摘Climate is one important environmental variable that affects human life.As the regions along the Belt and Road(B&R)encompass vast territories and large populations,it is significant to assess climate suitability for human settlements,which will influence the migration of various surrounding countries.We selected seven regions including 65 countries along the B&R for the research area and adopted the temperature-humidity index(THI),to assess the climate suitability.We analyzed the spatial characteristics of THI and the correlation between population distribution and THI,the results of which enabled us to adjust the THI classification criteria.We finally assessed the climate suitability of each region.The results reveal that outside the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,the THI values generally tend to decrease from west to east as longitude increases and downward with increasing latitude.The population distribution is significantly correlated with the THI.Regions with relative suitable climate,including high suitability areas(HASs),moderately suitable areas(MSAs)and low suitability areas(LSAs),account for 50.62%of the total area and encompass in excess of 90%of total population.These areas are widely distributed in the southern regions of 45°N latitude,again with the exception of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.Critical suitable area includes 19.48%of the entire area and 8.98%of total population.The non-suitable area accounts for less than 30%of total area,concentrated in the cold high-latitude and high-altitude areas.LIN Yumei LI Peng FENG Zhiming YANG Yanzhao YOU Zhen ZHU Fuxin 2021Chinese Geographical Science2021,31,6:1
15A genome wide association study between copy number variation (CNV) and human height in Chinese population显示文摘Copy number variation (CNV) is a type of genetic variation which may have important roles in phenotypic variability and disease susceptibility. To hunt for genetic variants underlying human height variation, we performed a genome wide CNV association study for human height in 618 Chinese unrelated subjects using Affymetrix 500K array set. After adjusting for age and sex, we found that four CNVs at 6p21.3, 8p23.3-23.2, 9p23 and 16p12.1 were associated with human height (with borderline significant p value: 0.013, 0.011, 0.024, 0.049; respectively). However, after multiple tests correction, none of them was associated with human height. We observed that the gain of copy number (more than 2 copies) at 8p23.3-23.2 was associated with lower height (normal copy number vs. gain of copy number: 161.2 cm vs. 153.7 cm, p = 0.011), which accounted for 0.9% of height variation. Loss of copy number (less than 2 copies) at 6p21.3 was associated with 0.8% lower height (loss of copy number vs. normal copy number: 154.5 cm vs. 161.1 cm, p = 0.013). Since no important genes influencing height located in CNVs at loci of 8p23.3-23.2 and 6p21.3, the two CNVs may cause the structural rear- rangements of neighbored important candidate genes, thus regulates the variation of height. 17Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND 18Paternally imprinted LATE-FLOWERING2 transcription factor contributes to paternal-excess interploidy hybridization barriers in wheat∞显示文摘Interploidy hybridization between hexaploid and tetraploid genotypes occurred repeatedly during genomic introgression events throughout wheat evolution,and is commonly employed in wheat breeding programs.Hexaploid wheat usually serves as maternal parent because the reciprocal cross generates progeny with severe defects and poor seed germination,but the underlying mechanism is poorly understood.Here,we performed detailed analysis of phenotypic variation in endosperm between two interploidy reciprocal crosses arising from tetraploid(Triticum durum,AABB)and hexaploid wheat(Triticum aestivum,AABBDD).In the paternal‐versus the maternal‐excess cross,the timing of endosperm cellularization was delayed and starch granule accumulation in the endosperm was repressed,causing reduced germination percentage.The expression profiles of genes involved in nutrient metabolism differed strongly between these endosperm types.Furthermore,expression patterns of parental alleles were dramatically disturbed in interploidy versus intraploidy crosses,leading to increased number of imprinted genes.The endosperm‐specific TaLFL2 showed a paternally imprinted expression pattern in interploidy crosses partially due to allele‐specific DNA methylation.Paternal TaLFL2 binds to and represses a nutrient accumulation regulator TaNAC019,leading to reduced storage protein and starch accumulation during endosperm development in paternal‐excess cross,as confirmed by interploidy crosses between tetraploid wild‐type and clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)–CRISPR‐associated protein 9 generated hexaploid mutants.These findings reveal a contribution of genomic imprinting to paternal‐excess interploidy hybridization barriers during wheat evolution history and explains why experienced breeders preferentially exploit maternal‐excess interploidy crosses in wheat breeding programs.Guanghui Yang Man Feng Kuohai Yu Guangxian Cui Yan Zhou Lv Sun Lulu Gao Yumei Zhang Huiru Peng Yingyin Yao Zhaorong Hu Vincenzo Rossi Ive De Smet Zhongfu Ni Qixin Sun Mingming Xin 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,12:0

20Reactive species regulation by interlayered Na^(+)/H^(+)of titanate nanotubes decorated Co(OH)_(2)hollow microsphere for peroxymonosulfate activation and gatifloxacin degradation显示文摘Emerging organic pollutants(EoPs)in water are of great concern due to their high environmental risk,so urgent technologies are needed for effective removal of those pollutants.Herein,a heterogeneous advanced oxidation process(AoP)of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation by functional material was developed for degradation of a typical antibiotic,gatifloxacin(GAT).The reactive species including sulfate radical(SO^(4)^(·-))and singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2))in this AOP were regulated by interlayered ions(Na^(+)/H^(+))of titanate nanotubes that supported on Co(OH)_(2)hollow microsphere.Both the Na-type(NaTi-CoHS)and H-type(HTi-CoHS)materials achieved efficient PMS activation for GAT degradation,and HTi-CoHS even exhibited a relatively high degradation efficiency of 96.6%within 5 min.Co(OH)_(2)was considered the key component for generation of SO_(4)^(·-)after PMS activation,while hydrogen titanate nanotubes(H-TNTs)promoted the transformation of peroxysulfate radical(SO_(5)^(·-))to ^(1)O_(2) by hydrogen bond interaction.Therefore,when the interlayer ion of TNTs transformed from Na^(+) to H^(+),more ^(1)O_(2) was produced for organic pollutant degradation.H-TNTs with lower symmetry preferred to adsorb PMS molecules to achieve interlayer electron transport through hydrogen bonding,rather than electrostatic interaction of Na^(+) for Na-TNTs.In addition,the degradation pathway of GAT mainly proceeded by the cleavage of C-N bond at the 8 N site of the piperazine ring,which was confirmed by condensed Fukui index and mass spectrographic analysis.This work gives new sights into the regulation of reactive species in AoPs by the composition of material and promotes the understanding of pollutant degradation mechanisms in water treatment process.Bin Zhou Long Chen Fan Li Weiliang Sun Zhicheng Pan Yumei Peng Lian Qiu Wen Liu 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,12:0
