| 1 | Radiofrequency ablation or microwave ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by comparing with radiofrequency ablation alone显示文摘Objective:To compare radiofrequency ablation(RFA) or microwave ablation(MWA) and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) with RFA or MWA monotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:A prospective,randomized,controlled trial was conducted on 94 patients with HCC ≤7 cm at a single tertiary referral center from June 2008 to June 2010 at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,the Second Affiliated Hospital of Southeast University.The patients were randomly assigned into the TACERFA or TACE-MWA(combined treatment group) and the RFA-alone or MWA-alone groups(control group).The primary end point was overall survival.The secondary end point was recurrence-free survival,and the tertiary end point was adverse effects.Results:Until the time of censor,17 patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 47.5±11.3 months(range,29 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 93.6%,68.1% and 61.7%,respectively.Twenty-five patients in the RFA or MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the RFA or MWA group was 47.0±12.9 months(range,28 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the RFA or MWA group was 85.1%,59.6% and 44.7%,respectively.The patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had better overall survival than the RFA or MWA group [hazard ratio(HR),0.526;95% confidence interval(95% CI),0.334-0.823;P=0.002],and showed better recurrence-free survival than the RFA or MWA group(HR,0.582;95% CI,0.368-0.895;P=0.008).Conclusions:RFA or MWA combined with TACE in the treatment of HCC ≤7 cm was superior to RFA or MWA alone in improving survival by reducing arterial and portal blood flow due to TACE with iodized oil before RFA. | Yongxiang Yi Yufeng Zhang Qiang Wei Liang Zhao Jianbo Han Yan Song Ying Ding Guilan Lu Junmao Liu Huaiying Ding Feng Dai Xiaojun Tang | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,1: | 29 |
| 2 | Oxidative stress in granulosa cells contributes to poor oocytequality and IVF-ET outcomes in women with polycystic ovarysyndrome显示文摘The increased levels of intraceHular reactive oxygen species (ROS) in granulosa cells (GCs) may allectthe pregnancy results in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In this study, we compared the in vitrofertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) results of 22 patients with PCOS and 25 patients with tubal factorinfertility and detected the ROS levels in the GCs of these two groups. Results showed that the PCOS group hadsignificantly larger follicles on the administration day for human chorionic gonadotropin than the tubal factorgroup (P 〈 0.05); however, the number of retrieved oocytes was not significantly different between the two groups(P 〉 0.05). PCOS group had slightly lower fertilization, cleavage, grade IflI embryo, clinical pregnancy, andimplantation rates and higher miscarriage rate than the tubal factor group (P 〉 0.05). We further found asignificantly higher ROS level of GCs in the PCOS group than in the tubal factor group (P 〈 0.05). The increasedROS levels in GCs caused GC apoptosis, whereas NADPH oxidase 2 (NOX2) specific inhibitors (diphenyleneio-donium and apocynin) significantly reduced the ROS production in the PCOS group. In conclusion, the increasedROS expression levels in PCOS GCs greatly induced cell apoptosis, which further affected the oocyte quality andreduced the positive IVF-ET pregnancy results of women with PCOS. | 4 | Scattering of SH waves induced by a symmetrical V-shaped canyon: a unified analytical solution显示文摘This paper reports a series solution of wave functions for two-dimensional scattering and diffraction of plane SH waves induced by a symmetrical V-shaped canyon with different shape ratios. A half-space with a symmetrical V-shaped canyon is divided into two sub-regions by using a circular-arc auxiliary boundary. The two sub-regions are represented by global and local cylindrical coordinate systems, respectively. In each coordinate system, the wave field satisfying the Helmholtz equation is represented by the separation of variables method, in terms of the series of both Bessel functions and Hankel functions with unknown complex coefficients. Then, the two wave fields are described in the local coordinate system using the Graf addition theorem. Finally, the unknown coefficients are sought by satisfying the continuity conditions of the auxiliary boundary. To consider the phase characteristics of the wave scattering, a parametric analysis is carried out in the time domain by assuming an incident signal of the Ricker type. | 5 | Synergistic effect of fluorination on both donor and acceptor materials for high performance non-fullerene polymer solar cells with 13.5% efficiency显示文摘A high performance polymer solar cells(PSCs) based on polymer donor PM6 containing fluorinated thienyl benzodithiophene unit and n-type organic semiconductor acceptor IT-4 F containing fluorinated end-groups were developed. In addition to complementary absorption spectra(300–830 nm) with IT-4 F, the PM6 also has a deep HOMO(the highest occupied molecular) level(-5.50 e V), which will lower the open-circuit voltage(V_(oc)) sacrifice and reduce the E_(loss) of the IT-4 F-based PSCs. Moreover, the strong crystallinity of PM6 is beneficial to form favorable blend morphology and hence to suppress recombination. As a result, in comparison with the PSCs based on a non-fluorinated D/A pair of PBDB-T:ITIC with a medium PCE of 11.2%, the PM6:IT-4 Fbased PSCs yielded an impressive PCE of 13.5% due to the synergistic effect of fluorination on both donor and acceptor, which is among the highest values recorded in the literatures for PSCs to date. Furthermore, a PCE of 12.2% was remained with the active layer thickness of up to 285 nm and a high PCE of 11.4% was also obtained with a large device area of 1 cm^2. In addition, the devices also showed good storage, thermal and illumination stabilities with respect to the efficiency. | 8 | Comparsion analysis of data mining models applied to clinical research in Traditional Chinese Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To help researchers selecting appropriate data mining models to provide better evidence for the clinical practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) diagnosis and therapy.METHODS: Clinical issues based on data mining models were comprehensively summarized from four significant elements of the clinical studies:symptoms, symptom patterns, herbs, and efficacy.Existing problems were further generalized to determine the relevant factors of the performance of data mining models, e.g. data type, samples, parameters, variable labels. Combining these relevant factors, the TCM clinical data features were compared with regards to statistical characters and informatics properties. Data models were compared simultaneously from the view of applied conditions and suitable scopes.RESULTS: The main application problems were the inconsistent data type and the small samples for the used data mining models, which caused the inappropriate results, even the mistake results. | 9 | Impact of anthropogenic activities on the sediment microbial communities of Baiyangdian shallow lake显示文摘Microorganisms are recognized as sensors of external disturbance in freshwater ecosystems.In this study,sediment samples from regions with strong human activity interference(four sites),moderate human activity interference(five sites)and minor human activity interference(five sites)in Baiyangdian Lake were collected;and their physiological and chemical properties and heavy metals contents were analyzed.The structures of bacterial and fungal communities were tested using 16S ribosomal Ribonucleic Acid(rRNA)and Internal Transcribed Spacer 2(ITS2)high-throughput sequencing technologies.The results indicated that Proteobacteria was the most abundant bacterial phylum.Ascomycota,Basidiomycota and Ciliophora were the dominant phyla of fungi.Obvious differences of microbial genera among the three regions were observed,especially fungal genera.With intensified disturbance by human activities,the Simpson and Shannon indices of bacteria significantly decreased.The fungal communities were clustered into three groups in accordance with the different human disturbance levels.The bacterial communities of sediment samples under moderate and minor human disturbance appeared similar,but different from those under strong human disturbance.Redundancy analysis indicated that zinc,total phosphorus,copper,and lead were the dominant factors that influenced the bacterial community.Nitrifiers and sulfate-reducing bacteria were influenced by pH,nitrate(NO3 ),and total nitrogen.The fungal community was significantly affected by total phosphorus.This study reveals that sediment microbial community structures among different regions of a shallow lake are mainly impacted by human activities. | Wenjun Wang Yujun Yi Yufeng Yang Yang Zhou Shanghong Zhang Xuan Wang Zhifeng Yang | 2020 | International Journal of Sediment Research2020,35,2: | 14 |

| 13 | Clinical characteristics and effectiveness of antiviral agents in hospitalized children with infectious mononucleosis in China:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Importance:The clinical characteristics of infectious mononucleosis(IM)in Chinese children have not been evaluated in multicenter studies,and the effectiveness of antiviral treatment are controversial.Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics of Chinese children with IM and current status of antiviral therapy for affected patients.Methods:Hospitalized patients with IM were enrolled between 2018 and 2020 in five children’s hospitals in China.The clinical characteristics were compared among four age groups:<3 years,3-<6 years,6-<10 years,and≥10 years.The clinical characteristics of IM and effectiveness of antiviral therapy were compared among patients receiving acyclovir(ACV),ganciclovir(GCV),and no antiviral therapy(i.e.,non-antiviral group).Results:In total,499 patients were analyzed;most patients were 3-<6 years of age.The most common symptoms and signs included fever(100%),lymphadenopathy(98.6%),pharyngitis(86.4%),eyelid edema(76.8%),and snoring(72.9%).There were significant differences in rash,hepatomegaly,and liver dysfunction among the four age groups.Patients aged<3 years had a lower incidence of liver dysfunction and a higher incidence of rash.Among the 499 patients,50.1%were treated with GCV,26.3%were treated with ACV,and 23.6%received no antiviral therapy.Compared with the non-antiviral group,patients in the ACV and GCV groups had longer durations of fever(P<0.001).There were no significant differences in the incidences of complications among the three treatment groups.Interpretation:The incidence of IM in Chinese children peaked at 3-<6 years of age.Clinical features of IM varied according to age.Patients receiving antiviral therapy exhibited more serious clinical manifestations than did patients without antiviral therapy.The effectiveness of antiviral therapy for IM requires further analysis. | Huili Hu Huiling Deng Jing Bi Yi Xu Shuangjie Li Yue Xie Xinrong Sun Dongmeng Wang Xufang Li Wenxian Ouyang Bing Hu Yufeng Zhang He Tang Chunxiao Fang Hui Zhang Lingyun Guo Chen Wang Tianyi Wang Fengxia Yang Tao Jiang Zhengde Xie Gang Liu | 2021 | Pediatric Investigation2021,5,3: | 12 |
| 14 | CD4^(+) T cell-released exosomes inhibit CD8^(+) cytotoxic T-lymphocyte responses and antitumor immunity显示文摘T cells secrete bioactive exosomes(EXO),but the potential immunoregulatory effect of T-cell EXO is largely unknown.In this study,we generated activated ovalbumin(OVA)-specific CD4^(+) T cells in vitro via coculture of OVA-pulsed dendritic cells(DC_(OVA))with naive CD4^(+) T cells derived from OVA-specific T-cell receptor(TCR)transgenic OTII mice.CD4^(+) T-cell EXO were then purified from the CD4^(+) T-cell culture supernatants by differential ultracentrifugation.CD4^(+) T-cell EXO exhibited the‘saucer’shape that is characteristic of EXO with a diameter between 50 and 100 nm,as assessed by electron microscopy,and contained the EXO-associated proteins LAMP-1,TCR and lymphocyte function associated antigen-1(LFA-1),as determined by western blot.Flow cytometric analysis showed that CD4^(+) T-cell EXO expressed CD4^(+) T-cell markers(CD4,TCR,LFA-1,CD25 and Fas ligand),but to a lesser extent than CD4^(+) T cells.We demonstrated that DC_(OVA) took up CD4^(+) T-cell EXO via peptide/major histocompatibility complex(pMHC)II/TCR and CD54/LFA-1 interactions.OVA-specific CD4^(+) T-cell EXO from OTII mice,but not ConA-stimulated polyclonal CD4^(+) T-cell EXO from wild-type C57BL/6 mice inhibited DC_(OVA)-stimulated in vitro CD4^(+) T-cell proliferation and in vivo CD81 cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL)responses and antitumor immunity against OVA-expressing B16 melanoma BL6-10OVA cells.In addition,EXO derived from a T-cell hybridoma cell line,MF72.2D9,expressing an OVA-specific CD4^(+) TCR,had a similar inhibitory effect as OTII CD4^(+) T-cell EXO on CTL-mediated antitumor immunity.Taken together,our data indicate that antigen-specific T-cell EXO may serve as a new type of immunosuppressive reagent for use in transplant rejection and treatment of autoimmune diseases. | Haifeng Zhang Yufeng Xie Wei Li Rajni Chibbar Sidong Xiong Jim Xiang | 2011 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2011,8,1: | 10 |
| 15 | Personalized Real-Time Movie Recommendation System:Practical Prototype and Evaluation显示文摘With the eruption of big data,practical recommendation schemes are now very important in various fields,including e-commerce,social networks,and a number of web-based services.Nowadays,there exist many personalized movie recommendation schemes utilizing publicly available movie datasets(e.g.,MovieLens and Netflix),and returning improved performance metrics(e.g.,Root-Mean-Square Error(RMSE)).However,two fundamental issues faced by movie recommendation systems are still neglected:first,scalability,and second,practical usage feedback and verification based on real implementation.In particular,Collaborative Filtering(CF)is one of the major prevailing techniques for implementing recommendation systems.However,traditional CF schemes suffer from a time complexity problem,which makes them bad candidates for real-world recommendation systems.In this paper,we address these two issues.Firstly,a simple but high-efficient recommendation algorithm is proposed,which exploits users1 profile attributes to partition them into several clusters.For each cluster,a virtual opinion leader is conceived to represent the whole cluster,such that the dimension of the original useritem matrix can be significantly reduced,then a Weighted Slope One-VU method is designed and applied to the virtual opinion leader-item matrix to obtain the recommendation results.Compared to traditional clusteringbased CF recommendation schemes,our method can significantly reduce the time complexity,while achieving comparable recommendation performance.Furthermore,we have constructed a real personalized web-based movie recommendation system,MovieWatch,opened it to the public,collected user feedback on recommendations,and evaluated the feasibility and accuracy of our system based on this real-world data. | Jiang Zhang Yufeng Wang Zhiyuan Yuan Qun Jin | 2020 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2020,25,2: | 10 |

| 17 | Tongluo Digui decoction(通络地龟汤)treats renal injury in diabetic rats by promoting autophagy of podocytes显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of Tongluo Digui decoction on renal injury and streptozotocin-induced podocyte autophagy in diabetic rats.METHODS:Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into six groups:normal,model,Tongluo Digui decoction(high,medium,and low dose)and valsartan.Streptozotocin was injected intraperitoneally to replicate the diabetic animal model.After 8 weeks,proteinuria was evaluated to establish the diabetic nephropathy model.Treatments were administered daily via the intragastric route.At 16 weeks after gavage,we determined 24 h urine protein concentration,and blood glucose,serum creatinine,and urea nitrogen concentrations.Then,rats were sacrificed,and kidneys were harvested and stained with periodic acid-Schiff to evaluate the pathological changes in glomeruli,including glomerular podocytes by transmission electron microscopy.Western blot analysis was used to determine the expression of nephrin,podocin,p62,beclin-1,LC3Ⅱ/Ⅰ,and p-m TOR/m TOR protein in kidney tissues.RESULTS:Compared with the model group,Tongluo Digui decoction was associated with decreases in 24 h urine protein concentration,and blood glucose,hemoglobin A1 c,serum creatinine,urea nitrogen concentrations,total serum protein and albumin.Concurrently,mesangial mesenteric broadening and fusion of foot processes were reduced,the glomerular basement membrane was not significantly thickened,and the number of podocytes and the number of autophagosomes in the podocytes was increased.Further,expression of nephrin,podocin,LC3Ⅱ,and beclin-1 protein in kidney tissue was up-regulated,while expression of p62 protein was down-regulated and m TOR phosphorylation was inhibited.CONCLUSION:Tongluo Digui decoction may inhibit the progression of diabetic nephropathy by inhibiting m TOR phosphorylation,thereby increasing autophagy to protect podocytes and reducing proteinuria. | HAN Jiarui ZHANG Yage SHI Xiujie PENG Zining XING Yufeng PANG Xinxin | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,1: | 9 |
| 18 | Three-dimensional-printed individualized porous implants:A new“implant-bone”interface fusion concept for large bone defect treatment显示文摘Bone defect repairs are based on bone graft fusion or replacement.Current large bone defect treatments are inadequate and lack of reliable technology.Therefore,we aimed to investigate a simple technique using three-dimensional(3D)-printed individualized porous implants without any bone grafts,osteoinductive agents,or surface biofunctionalization to treat large bone defects,and systematically study its long-term therapeutic effects and osseointegration characteristics.Twenty-six patients with large bone defects caused by tumor,infection,or trauma received treatment with individualized porous implants;among them,three typical cases underwent a detailed study.Additionally,a large segmental femur defect sheep model was used to study the osseointegration characteristics.Immediate and long-term biomechanical stability was achieved,and the animal study revealed that the bone grew into the pores with gradual remodeling,resulting in a long-term mechanically stable implant-bone complex.Advantages of 3D-printed microporous implants for the repair of bone defects included 1)that the stabilization devices were immediately designed and constructed to achieve early postoperative mobility,and 2)that osseointegration between the host bone and implants was achieved without bone grafting.Our osseointegration method,in which the“implant-bone”interface fusion concept was used instead of“bone-bone”fusion,subverts the traditional idea of osseointegration. | Teng Zhang Qingguang Wei Hua Zhou Zehao Jing Xiaoguang Liu Yufeng Zheng Hong Cai Feng Wei Liang Jiang Miao Yu Yan Cheng Daoyang Fan Wenhao Zhou Xinhong Lin Huijie Leng Jian Li Xinyu Li Caimei Wang Yun Tian Zhongjun Liu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,11: | 9 |
| 19 | An analytical solution to the scattering of cylindrical SH waves by a partially filled semi-circular alluvial valley: near-source site effects显示文摘The earth's surface irregularities can substantially affect seismic waves and induce amplifi cations of ground motions. This study investigates whether and how the source characteristics affect the site amplifi cation effects. An analytical model of a line source of cylindrical waves impinging on an alluvial valley is proposed to link the source and site. The analytical solution to this problem proves one aspect of the strong effect of source on site amplifi cation, i.e., the wave curvature effect. It is found that the site amplifi cation depends on the source location, especially under conditions of a small source-to-site distance. Whether the displacement is amplifi ed or reduced and the size of the amplifi cation or reduction may be determined by the location of the source. | 20 | Biodegradable Zn-Sr alloy for bone regeneration in rat femoral condyle defect model: In vitro and in vivo studies显示文摘Bone defects are commonly caused by severe trauma,malignant tumors,or congenital diseases and remain among the toughest clinical problems faced by orthopedic surgeons,especially when of critical size.Biodegradable zinc-based metals have recently gained popularity for their desirable biocompatibility,suitable degradation rate,and favorable osteogenesis-promoting properties.The biphasic activity of Sr promotes osteogenesis and inhibits osteoclastogenesis,which imparts Zn-Sr alloys with the ideal theoretical osteogenic properties.Herein,a biodegradable Zn-Sr binary alloy system was fabricated.The cytocompatibility and osteogenesis of the Zn-Sr alloys were significantly better than those of pure Zn in MC3T3-E1 cells.RNA-sequencing illustrated that the Zn-0.8Sr alloy promoted osteogenesis by activating the wnt/β-catenin,PI3K/Akt,and MAPK/Erk signaling pathways.Furthermore,rat femoral condyle defects were repaired using Zn-0.8Sr alloy scaffolds,with pure Ti as a control.The scaffold-bone integration and bone ingrowth confirmed the favorable in vivo repair properties of the Zn-Sr alloy,which was verified to offer satisfactory biosafety based on the hematoxylin-eosin(H&E)staining and ion concentration testing of important organs.The Zn-0.8Sr alloy was identified as an ideal bone repair material candidate,especially for application in critical-sized defects on load-bearing sites due to its favorable biocompatibility and osteogenic properties in vitro and in vivo. | Bo Jia Hongtao Yang Zechuan Zhang Xinhua Qu Xiufeng Jia Qiang Wu Yu Han Yufeng Zheng Kerong Dai | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,6: | 9 |
