| 3 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 4 | Influence of Tip Clearance on Performance of a Contra-Rotating Fan显示文摘Influences of tip clearance on the tip flow and associated loss mechanism in a contra-rotating axial flow fan hasbeen studied in the paper, based on three dimensional numerical results. The results with different tip clearanceare compared in terms of stage efficiency, relative total pressure loss coefficient, flow angle. It is found that theefficiency of the contra-rotating fan changes almost linearly with increment of the tip clearance, however, efficiencyof the rear rotor is observed to decrease more dramatically than that of the forward rotor given same tipclearance variation. The analysis on the flow structure indicates that the tip region flow field is qualitatively similarin both rotors. | 5 | Numerical and experimental investigations for an air cannon optimization显示文摘Air cannon is a kind of de-clogging device which produces impulse force by instantly releasing the compressed air deposited in a pressure vessel.Air cannons are widely used in the transport pipes of warehouses,docks,furnaces and coal mines.In this paper,the theoretical analysis with isentropic flow hypothesis is firstly conducted on a simplified model to deduce the theoretical maximum of impulse force.And numerical study is carried out to predict the steady and unsteady impulse forces via simulating the whole exhausting process of the air cannon.The results demonstrate that the impulse force can be improved via increasing the piston sleeve inlet length and increasing the nozzle diameter.Laval nozzle can also increase the impulse force of the air without increasing the air mass flow.The optimization of the air cannon is then conducted on the basis of the theoretical and numerical analyses.Experimental measurements indicate that the computations well simulate the working process of the air cannon and the impulse force of the optimized design is 50%higher than the original model.For the cases with working pressure of 0.8 MPa,the optimized design is 60%higher than the original one. | XU Jian CHEN HaiSheng TAN ChunQing CHEN HuanZhuo ZHOU GenSheng | 2011 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,2: | 3 |

| 8 | Concentrations and distribution of biogenic barium in surface sediments of Prydz Bay,Antarctica显示文摘Concentrations of biogenic barium were investigated in surface sediments of Prydz Bay,Antarctica,during the 21st and27th CHINARE cruises.Factors controlling the observed distribution are explored.Biogenic barium concentrations obtained from a sequential extraction procedure are compared with total concentrations obtained from the normative calculation based on a total digestion,and differences in the results are examined.Concentrations of biogenic barium,calculated by the normative calculation,were much higher than the concentrations obtained through sequential extraction;this discrepancy is the result of the occurrence of barium associated with Mn/Fe oxides,which represents an important component of total barium in these sediments.Concentrations of biogenic barium obtained from the sequential extraction range from 104 to 445μg·g^(-1),and the average concentration was227μg·g^(-1).The highest concentrations of biogenic barium occur in the central area of the bay,where the seawater is more stable,while lower values occur in the bank and the ice shelf.Biogenic barium is significantly linearly correlated with biogenic barium and organic carbon,and similar in distribution of Chl a,which may indicate that primary productivity of phytoplankton in the surface water column is the main environmental factor regulating barium concentration and distribution. | TAN Saizhang YU Peisong HU Chuanyu HAN Zhengbing ZHANG Haisheng | 2013 | Advances in Polar Science2013,24,3: | 1 |
