| 1 | BRAF^(V600E) vs. TIRADS in predicting papillary thyroid cancers in Bethesda system Ⅰ, Ⅲ, and Ⅴ nodules显示文摘Objective: Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology(BSRTC) categories Ⅰ, Ⅲ, and Ⅴaccount for a significant proportion of fine needle aspiration cytology(FNAC) diagnoses. This study aimed to compare the diagnostic efficacy of BRAF^(V600E) mutation and the Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System(TIRADS) classification in differentiating papillary thyroid cancers(PTCs) from benign lesions among BSRTC I, III, and V nodules.Methods: A total of 472 patients with 479 nodules were enrolled in this prospective study. Ultrasound, BRAF^(V600E) mutation testing, and FNAC were performed in each nodule, followed by surgery or regular ultrasound examination.Results: In the BSRTC I category, BRAF^(V600E) showed similar sensitivity, higher specificity, and lower accuracy when compared with TIRADS. In the BSRTC III/V category, the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of BRAF^(V600E) were similar to those of TIRADS. In comparison to BRAF^(V600E) alone, the combination of the two methods significantly improved sensitivity(BSRTC Ⅰ:93.6% vs. 67.7%, P < 0.01; BSRTC Ⅲ: 93.8% vs. 75.0%, P < 0.01; BSRTC V: 96.0% vs. 85.3%, P < 0.001). When compared with TIRADS alone, the combination improved sensitivity in BSRTC Ⅰ nodules(93.6% vs. 74.2%, P < 0.05), increased sensitivity and decreased accuracy in BSRTC III nodules(93.8% vs. 75.0%, P < 0.01, 91.0% vs. 93.6%, P < 0.01), and improved both sensitivity and accuracy in BSRTC V nodules(96.0% vs. 82.0%, P < 0.001; 94.2% vs. 81.3%, P < 0.001).Conclusions: BRAF^(V600E) exhibited higher specificity and lower accuracy compared with TIRADS in BSRTC Ⅰ nodules, while the two methods showed similar diagnostic value in BSRTC Ⅲ/Ⅴ nodules. | 2 | First results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment显示文摘We report the first results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment(CDEX).A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994 g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg d has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500 keV to 3 MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039 MeV energy range. The half-life of ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is T^(0ν)1/2>6.4×10^(22) yr(90% C.L.). | 8 | Irrigation decision model for tomato seedlings based on optimal photosynthetic rate显示文摘Soil moisture is a major environmental factor that influences tomato growth and development.Suitable soil moisture not only increases tomato production but also saves irrigation water.In this study,an irrigation decision model was developed,which called soil moisture regulation model,for optimizing growth of tomato seedlings while saving water.The data used for modeling were collected from a multi-gradient nested experiment,in which temperature,photosynthetic photon flux density(PPFD),carbon dioxide(CO2)concentration and soil moisture were variables and the corresponding photosynthetic rate was measured.Subsequently,a prediction model of tomato photosynthetic rate was constructed using support vector regression(SVR)algorithm.With photosynthetic rate prediction model as fitness function,genetic algorithm(GA)was used to find the optimal soil moisture under each combination of the above environmental factors.Finally,back propagation neural network(BPNN)algorithm was used to establish a decision model of tomato irrigation,which could provide the optimal soil moisture under current environment.For the soil moisture regulation model constructed here,the coefficient of determination was 0.9738,the mean square error of the test set was 1.51×10-5,the slope of the verified straight line was 0.9752,and the intercept was 0.00916.This model demonstrated high precision,which thereby provides a theoretical basis for accurate irrigation control in the greenhouse facility environment. | Xiangbei Wan Bin Li Danyan Chen Xingyue Long Yifei Deng Huarui Wu Jin Hu | 2021 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,5: | 1 |

| 10 | Polydopamine functionalized mesoporous silica as ROS-sensitive drug delivery vehicles for periodontitis treatment by modulating macrophage polarization显示文摘Periodontitis is recognized as the major cause of tooth loss in adults, posing an adverse impact on systemic health. In periodontitis, excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) at the inflamed site culminates in periodontal destruction. In this study, a novel ROS-responsive drug delivery system based on polydopamine (PDA) functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles was developed for delivering minocycline hydrochloride (MH) to treat periodontitis. The outer PDA layer and the inner MH of the nanoparticles acted as ROS scavengers and anti-inflammatory agents, respectively. Under the synergistic action of PDA and MH, macrophages were polarized from the pro-inflammatory M1 to the anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype. The in vitro experiments provided convincing evidence that PDA could scavenge ROS effectively, and the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines was attenuated and the secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokines was enhanced through M1 to M2 polarization of macrophages with the cooperation of MH. In addition, the results obtained from the periodontitis rat models demonstrated that the synergetic effect of PDA and MH prevented alveolar bone loss without causing any adverse effect. | 14 | Herbal small RNAs in patients with COVID-19 linked to reduced DEG expression显示文摘In China,more than 80%of patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)received traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)as a treatment and their clinical efficacy have been reported.However,the underlying molecular mechanism remains unclear.Previous studies have identified herbal small RNAs(s RNAs)as novel functional components.In this study,a cohort of 22patients with COVID-19 treated with Toujie Quwen(TQ)granules was analyzed.We observed thousands of herbal small RNAs that entered the blood cells of patients after the consumption of TQ granules.In response to this treatment,the reduced differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were highly correlated with the predicted target genes of the most prevalent herbal s RNAs detected in the blood.Moreover,the predicted target genes of the top 30 s RNAs from each of the 245 TCMs in the Bencao s RNA Atlas overlapped with 337 upregulated DEGs in patients with mild COVID-19,and 33 TCMs,with more than 50%overlapping genes were identified as effective TCMs.These predicted target genes of top 30 s RNAs from Juhong,Gualoupi and Foshou were confirmed experimentally.Our results not only elucidated a novel molecular mechanism of TCM potential clinical efficacy for COVID-19 patients,but also provided 33 effective COVID-19 TCMs for prescription optimization. | Xiangyu Qiao Fengming Huang Xiaohu Shi Xingyu Deng Cong Zhang Song Mei Zhiqing Wang Congzhao Zhou Chengyu Jiang Xinghua Tan | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,6: | 0 |
| 15 | ICMPTend: Internet Control Message Protocol Covert Tunnel Attack Intent Detector显示文摘The Internet Control Message Protocol(ICMP)covert tunnel refers to a network attack that encapsulates malicious data in the data part of the ICMP protocol for transmission.Its concealment is stronger and it is not easy to be discovered.Most detection methods are detecting the existence of channels instead of clarifying specific attack intentions.In this paper,we propose an ICMP covert tunnel attack intent detection framework ICMPTend,which includes five steps:data collection,feature dictionary construction,data preprocessing,model construction,and attack intent prediction.ICMPTend can detect a variety of attack intentions,such as shell attacks,sensitive directory access,communication protocol traffic theft,filling tunnel reserved words,and other common network attacks.We extract features from five types of attack intent found in ICMP channels.We build a multi-dimensional dictionary of malicious features,including shell attacks,sensitive directory access,communication protocol traffic theft,filling tunnel reserved words,and other common network attack keywords.For the high-dimensional and independent characteristics of ICMP traffic,we use a support vector machine(SVM)as a multi-class classifier.The experimental results show that the average accuracy of ICMPTend is 92%,training ICMPTend only takes 55 s,and the prediction time is only 2 s,which can effectively identify the attack intention of ICMP. | Tengfei Tu Wei Yin Hua Zhang Xingyu Zeng Xiaoxiang Deng Yuchen Zhou Xu Liu | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,5: | 0 |
