Artificial Intelligence Applications in the Development of Autonomous Vehicles:A Survey显示文摘The advancement of artificial intelligence(AI)has truly stimulated the development and deployment of autonomous vehicles(AVs)in the transportation industry.Fueled by big data from various sensing devices and advanced computing resources,AI has become an essential component of AVs for perceiving the surrounding environment and making appropriate decision in motion. To achieve goal of full automation(i.e.,self-driving),it is important to know how AI works in AV systems.Existing research have made great efforts in investigating different aspects of applying AI in AV development. However, few studies have offered the research community a thorough examination of current practices in implementing AI in AVs.Thus, this paper aims to shorten the gap by providing a comprehensive survey of key studies in this research avenue.Specifically,it intends to analyze their use of AIs in supporting the primary applications in AVs:1)perception;2)localization and mapping;and 3)decision making. It investigates the current practices to understand how AI can be used and what are the challenges and issues associated with their implementation.Based on the exploration of current practices and technology advances, this paper further provides insights into potential opportunities regarding the use of AI in conjunction with other emerging technologies:1)high definition maps, big data, and high performance computing;2)augmented reality(AR)/virtual reality(VR)enhanced simulation platform;and 3)5G communication for connected AVs.This paper is expected to offer a quick reference for researchers interested in understanding the use of AI in AV research. | Yifang Ma Zhenyu Wang Hong Yang Lin Yang | 2020 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2020,7,2: | 16
A cyclodextrin-based nanoformulation achieves co-delivery of ginsenoside Rg3 and quercetin for chemo-immunotherapy in colorectal cancer显示文摘The immune checkpoint blockade therapy has profoundly revolutionized the field of cancer immunotherapy. However, despite great promise for a variety of cancers, the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors is still low in colorectal cancer(CRC). This is mainly due to the immunosuppressive feature of the tumor microenvironment(TME). Emerging evidence reveals that certain chemotherapeutic drugs induce immunogenic cell death(ICD), demonstrating great potential for remodeling the immunosuppressive TME. In this study, the potential of ginsenoside Rg3(Rg3) as an ICD inducer against CRC cells was confirmed using in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches. The ICD efficacy of Rg3 could be significantly enhanced by quercetin(QTN) that elicited reactive oxygen species(ROS). To amelioratein vivo delivery barriers associated with chemotherapeutic drugs, a folate(FA)-targeted polyethylene glycol(PEG)-modified amphiphilic cyclodextrin nanoparticle(NP) was developed for co-encapsulation of Rg3 and QTN. The resultant nanoformulation(CD-PEG-FA.Rg3.QTN) significantly prolonged blood circulation and enhanced tumor targeting in an orthotopic CRC mouse model, resulting in the conversion of immunosuppressive TME. Furthermore, the CD-PEG-FA.Rg3.QTN achieved significantly longer survival of animals in combination with Anti-PD-L1. The study provides a promising strategy for the treatment of CRC. | Dandan Sun Yifang Zou Liu Song Shulan Han Hao Yang Di Chu Yun Dai Jie Ma Caitriona M.O’Driscoll Zhuo Yu Jianfeng Guo | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,1: | 8

Single-cell-resolution transcriptome map revealed novel genes involved in testicular germ cell progression and somatic cells specification in Chinese tongue sole with sex reversal显示文摘Female-to-male sex reversals(pseudomales)are common in lower vertebrates and have been found in natural populations, which is a concern under rapid changes in environmental conditions.Pseudomales can exhibit altered spermatogenesis. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying pseudomale spermatogenesis remain unclear. Here,we characterized spermatogenesis in Chinese tongue sole(Cynoglossus semilaevis),a species with genetic and environmental sex determination, based on a highresolution single-cell RNA-seq atlas of cells derived from the testes of genotypic males and pseudomales. We identified five germ cell types and six somatic cell types and obtained a single-cell atlas of dynamic changes in gene expression during spermatogenesis in Chinese tongue sole, including alterations in pseudomales. We detected decreased levels of Ca^(2+)signaling pathway-related genes in spermatogonia, insufficient meiotic initiation in spermatocytes, and a malfunction of somatic niche cells in pseudomales. However,a cluster of CaSR genes and MAPK signaling factors were upregulated in undifferentiated spermatogonia of pseudomales.Additionally,we revealed that Z chromosome-specific genes, such as piwil2,dhx37,and ehmt1,were important for spermatogenesis. These results improve our understanding of reproduction after female-to-male sex-reversal and provide new insights into the adaptability of reproductive strategies in lower vertebrates. | Hong-Yan Wang Xiang Liu Jian-Yang Chen Yingyi Huang Yifang Lu Fujian Tan Qun Liu Mingming Yang Shuo Li Xianghui Zhang Yating Qin Wenxiu Ma Yingming Yang Liang Meng Kaiqiang Liu Qian Wang Guangyi Fan Rafael H.Nóbrega Shanshan Liu Francesc Piferrer Changwei Shao | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,5: | 1
Immune‑Ageing Evaluation of Peripheral T and NK Lymphocyte Subsets in Chinese Healthy Adults显示文摘Ageing is often accompanied with a decline in immune system function, resulting in immune ageing.Numerous studies have focussed on the changes in different lymphocyte subsets in diseases and immunosenescence. The change in immune phenotype is a key indication of the diseased or healthy status. However, the changes in lymphocyte number and phenotype brought about by ageing have not been comprehensively analysed. Here,we analysed T and natural killer(NK)cell subsets, the phenotype and cell differentiation states in 43,096 healthy individuals, aged 20–88 years, without known diseases.Thirty-six immune parameters were analysed and the reference ranges of these subsets were established in different age groups divided into 5-year intervals. The data were subjected to random forest machine learning for immune-ageing modelling and confirmed using the neural network analysis. Our initial analysis and machine modelling prediction showed that na.ve T cells decreased with ageing, whereas central memory T cells(Tcm)and effector memory T cells(Tem)increased cluster of differentiation(CD)28-associated T cells. This is the largest study to investigate the correlation between age and immune cell function in a Chinese population, and provides insightful differences, suggesting that healthy adults might be considerably influenced by age and sex.The age of a person's immune system might be different from their chronological age.Our immune-ageing modelling study is one of the largest studies to provide insights into‘immune-age’rather than‘biological-age’.Through machine learning,we identified immune factors influencing the most through ageing and built a model for immune-ageing prediction. Our research not only reveals the impact of age on immune parameter differences within the Chinese population, but also provides new insights for monitoring and preventing some diseases in clinical practice. | Zhenghu Jia Zhiyao Ren Dongmei Ye Jiawei Li Yan Xu Hui Liu Ziyu Meng Chengmao Yang Xiaqi Chen Xinru Mao Xueli Luo Zhe Yang Lina Ma Anyi Deng Yafang Li Bingyu Han Junping Wei Chongcheng Huang Zheng Xiang Guobing Chen Peiling Li Juan Ouyang Peisong Chen Oscar Junhong Luo Yifang Gao Zhinan Yin | 2023 | Phenomics2023,3,4: | 1

Practical operation and theoretical basis of difference-in-difference regression in science of science:The comparative trial on the scientific performance of Nobel laureates versus their coauthors显示文摘Purpose:In recent decades, with the availability of large-scale scientific corpus datasets,difference-in-difference(DID)is increasingly used in the science of science and bibliometrics studies.DID method outputs the unbiased estimation on condition that several hypotheses hold, especially the common trend assumption. In this paper,we gave a systematic demonstration of DID in the science of science, and the potential ways to improve the accuracy of DID method.Design/methodology/approach:At first,we reviewed the statistical assumptions, the model specification, and the application procedures of DID method.Second,to improve the necessary assumptions before conducting DID regression and the accuracy of estimation,we introduced some matching techniques serving as the pre-selecting step for DID design by matching control individuals who are equivalent to those treated ones on observational variables before the intervention.Lastly,we performed a case study to estimate the effects of prizewinning on the scientific performance of Nobel laureates,by comparing the yearly citation impact after the prizewinning year between Nobel laureates and their prizewinning-work coauthors.Findings:We introduced the procedures to conduct a DID estimation and demonstrated the effectiveness to use matching method to improve the results. As a case study,we found that there are no significant increases in citations for Nobel laureates compared to their prizewinning coauthors.Research limitations:This study ignored the rigorous mathematical deduction parts of DID,while focused on the practical parts.Practical implications:This work gives experimental practice and potential guidelines to use DID method in science of science and bibliometrics studies.Originality/value:This study gains insights into the usage of econometric tools in science of science. | Yurui Huang Chaolin Tian Yifang Ma | 2023 | Journal of Data and Information Science2023,8,1: | 0
Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 13 | Investigation of Lushan earthquake ionosphere VTEC anomalies based on GPS data显示文摘Vertical total electron content(VTEC)time series were obtained from 22 GPS stations near the epicenter of the Lushan earthquake. In this paper,we have adopted a sliding average method to detect and analyze anomalous VTEC associated with the earthquake. The results show that significant, negative ionosphere VTEC anomalies appeared over the 5 days before the earthquake, and on the day when earthquake occurred. The maximum value of VTEC anomalies that exceeded the lower bound reached 20 TECU.The spatial distribution of VTEC anomalies showed a conjugate structure, which shifted to the magnetic equator, and subsequently moved westwards. | Weiping Jiang Yifang Ma Hongfei Liu Liansheng Deng Xiaohui Zhou | 2013 | Earthquake Science2013,26,3: | 0
Ratiometric fluorescence immunoassay of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein via Si-FITC nanoprobe-based inner filter effect显示文摘The global pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)virus has necessitated rapid,easy-to-use,and accurate diagnostic methods to monitor the virus infection.Herein,a ratiometric fluorescence enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was developed using Si-fluorescein isothiocyanate nanoparticles(FITC NPs)for detecting SARSCoV-2 nucleocapsid(N)protein.Si-FITC NPs were prepared by a one-pot hydrothermal method using 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane(APTES)-FITC as the Si source. This method did not need post-modification and avoided the reduction in quantum yield and stability. The p-nitrophenyl(pNP)produced by the alkaline phosphatase(ALP)-mediated hydrolysis of pnitrophenyl phosphate(pNPP)could quench Si fluorescence in Si-FITC NPs via the inner filter effect. In ELISA,an immunocomplex was formed by the recognition of capture antibody/N protein/reporter antibody.ALP-linked secondary antibody bound to the reporter antibody and induced pNPP hydrolysis to specifically quench Si fluorescence in Si-FITC NPs.The change in fluorescence intensity ratio could be used for detecting N protein, with a wide linearity range(0.01-10.0 and 50-300 ng/mL)and low detection limit(0.002 ng/mL).The concentration of spiked SARS-CoV-2 N protein could be determined accurately in human serum. Moreover, this proposed method can accurately distinguish coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)and non-COVID-19 patient samples. Therefore, this simple, sensitive, and accurate method can be applied for the early diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection. | Guobin Mao Yang Yang Shijie Cao Silu Ye Yifang Li Wei Zhao Hongwei An Yingxia Liu Junbiao Dai Yingxin Ma | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,4: | 0
Elevated Kir2.1/nuclear N2ICD defines a highly malignant subtype of non-WNT/SHH medulloblastomas显示文摘Medulloblastoma(MB)is one of the most common childhood malignant brain tumors(WHO grade IV),traditionally divided into WNT,SHH,Group 3,and Group 4 subgroups based on the transcription profiles, somatic DNA alterations, and clinical outcomes.Unlike WNT and SHH subgroup MBs,Group 3 and Group 4 MBs have similar transcriptomes and lack clearly specific drivers and targeted therapeutic options. The recently revised WHO Classification of CNS Tumors has assigned Group 3 and 4 to a provisional non-WNT/SHH entity. In the present study,we demonstrate that Kir2.1,an inwardly-rectifying potassium channel,is highly expressed in non-WNT/SHH MBs,which promotes tumor cell invasion and metastasis by recruiting Adam10 to enhance S2 cleavage of Notch2 thereby activating the Notch2 signaling pathway.Disruption of the Notch2 pathway markedly inhibited the growth and metastasis of Kir2.1-overexpressing MB cell-derived xenograft tumors in mice.Moreover,Kir2.1^(high)/nuclear N2ICD^(high)MBs are associated with the significantly shorter lifespan of the patients.Thus,Kir2.1^(high)/nuclear N2ICD^(high)can be used as a biomarker to define a novel subtype of non-WNT/SHH MBs.Our findings are important for the modification of treatment regimens and the development of novel-targeted therapies for non-WNT/SHH MBs. | Yan-Xia Wang Haibo Wu Yong Ren Shengqing Lv Chengdong Ji Dongfang Xiang Mengsi Zhang Huimin Lu Wenjuan Fu Qing Liu Zexuan Yan Qinghua Ma Jingya Miao Ruili Cai Xi Lan Bin Wu Wenying Wang Yinhua Liu Dai-Zhong Wang Mianfu Cao Zhicheng He Yu Shi Yifang Ping Xiaohong Yao Xia Zhang Peng Zhang Ji Ming Wang Yan Wang Youhong Cui Xiu-Wu Bian | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4: | 0

Improvement of SFC显示文摘The Heavy Ion Research Facility at Lanzhou (HIRFL) is a cyclotron complex in which a Sector Focusing Cyclotron (SFC) with energy constant K=69 as an injector was converted from the original existing conversional cyclotron with diameter 1.5 m. In the process of operation for about 20 years, some shortages were exposed. For example, the vacuum pressure of SFC is only 10^-4 Pa magnitude, in the case most of the heavier ions will be lost in it. Because the yoke of SFC was not changed in the fabricated process, while the diameter of accelerator is changed from 1.5 m to 1.7 m, so the magnetic saturation is very serious in the yoke. The stay magnetic field around the cyclotron is very strong. It affects not only the beam tuning in vertical process coming from ECR ion source, but also the extraction beam behind SFC. The performance of RF system is worse than that before because of long time operation, so it is difficult to obtain satisfactorv Dee voltage. | Wang Yifang, Wu Dezhong, Zhang Xiaoqi, Ma Lizheng, He Yuan, Wang Bing Wu Yijian, Zhao Jianming, Wang Zhixue and Zhao Hongwei | 2003 | 近代物理研究所和兰州重离子加速器实验室年报:英文版2003,,1: | 0
mTORC2/RICTOR exerts differential levels of metabolic control in human embryonic, mesenchymal and neural stem cells显示文摘Dear Editor,Stem cells, including pluripotent stem cells and adult stem cells, possess the remarkable capability of being able to selfrenew while at the same time having potential to differentiate into different cell lineages and functionally distinct cell types.Human embryonic stem cells(hESCs)can differentiate into all adult stem cell types, including human mesenchymal stem cells(hMSCs)and human neural stem cells(hNSCs),but can also give rise to all terminally differentiated cell types(Wang et al.,2021a).Through the continuous replenishment of differentiated cells, stem cells support tissue homeostasis and respond to tissue injuries.Given the promising applications of stem cells in cell therapy and regenerative medicine, insights into molecular events underlying stem cell maintenance,self-renewal ability and pluripotency, continue to garner strong interest(Shan et al.,2021).Although metabolic pathways have been implicated in the reciprocal regulations of stem cell self-renewal and differentiation as well as organ homeostatic maintenance(Garcia-Prat et al.,2017),central aspects of how metabolic requirements differ and are regulated across the various types of human stem cells in our body remain enigmatic. | Qun Chu Feifei Liu Yifang He Xiaoyu Jiang Yusheng Cai Zeming Wu Kaowen Yan Lingling Geng Yichen Zhang Huyi Feng Kaixin Zhou Si Wang Weiqi Zhang Guang-Hui Liu Shuai Ma Jing Qu Moshi Song | 2022 | Protein & Cell2022,13,9: | 0
Canagliflozin Regulates Ferroptosis, Potentially via Activating AMPK/PGC-1α/Nrf2 Signaling in HFpEF Rats显示文摘Aims:Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2(SGLT2)inhibitors have been found to ameliorate major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF),but the exact mechanism is unknown.Ferroptosis is a form of programmed necrosis.Herein,we verified that canagliflozin(CANA)ameliorates heart function in HFpEF rats, partly by regulating ferroptosis, which may be activated by AMPK/PGC-1α/Nrf2 signaling. Methods:An HFpEF model was established and subjected to CANA treatment.Blood pressure was monitored, and echocardiography was performed at the 12th week.Pathological examination was performed, and expression of ferroptosis-associated proteins and AMPK/PGC-1α/Nrf2 signaling related proteins was detected. Results:CANA had an antihypertensive effect and increased E/A ratios in HFpEF rats.Myocardial pathology was ameliorated,on the basis of decreased cross-sectional area and intercellular fibrosis.Acyl-CoA synthetase longchain family member 4(ACSL4)expression increased, whereas ferritin heavy chain 1(FTH1)expression decreased in HFpEF rats, which showed iron overload.CANA reversed changes in ACSL4 and FTH1,and decreased iron accumulation, but did not alter glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4)expression.The expression of AMPK/PGC-1α/Nrf2 signaling related proteins and heme oxygenase 1(HO-1)in the HFpEF group decreased but was reverted after CANA treatment. Conclusions:CANA regulates ferroptosis, potentially via activating AMPK/PGC-1α/Nrf2 signaling in HFpEF rats. | Sai Ma Lili He Qingjuan Zuo Guorui Zhang Yifang Guo | 2022 | Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2022,7,3: | 0
