| 1 | Novel benzamido derivatives as PTP1B inhibitors with anti-hyperglycemic and lipid-lowering efficacy显示文摘Based on a non-competitive and selective PTP1 B inhibitor reported by us previously, thirtynine benzamido derivatives were designed and synthesized as novel PTP1 B inhibitors. Among them,twelve compounds exhibited IC_(50) values at micromolar level against human recombinant PTP1 B, and most of them exhibited significant selectivity to PTP1 B over TC-PTP and CD45. | 2 | An imputed whole-genome sequence-based GWAS approach pinpoints causal mutations for complex traits in a specific swine population显示文摘Sequencing-based genome-wide association studies(GWAS) have facilitated the identification of causal associations between genetic variants and traits in diverse species. However, it is cost-prohibitive for the majority of research groups to sequence a large number of samples. Here, we carried out genotype imputation to increase the density of single nucleotide polymorphisms in a large-scale Swine F;population using a reference panel including 117 individuals, followed by a series of GWAS analyses. The imputation accuracies reached 0.89 and 0.86 for allelic concordance and correlation, respectively. A quantitative trait nucleotide(QTN) affecting the chest vertebrate was detected directly, while the investigation of another QTN affecting the residual glucose failed due to the presence of similar haplotypes carrying wild-type and mutant allelesin the reference panel used in this study. A high imputation accuracy was confirmed by Sanger sequencing technology for the most significant loci. Two candidate genes,CPNE5 and MYH3, affecting meat-related traits were proposed. | 10 | Role of the warming trend in global land surface air temperature variations显示文摘Global warming and its climatic and environmental effects have mainly been investigated in terms of the absolute warming rate.Little attention has been paid to the contribution of absolute warming rate to variability on various time scales of surface air temperature(SAT),which may be a more direct index for measuring the ecoclimatic effect of warming trend.The present study analyzed the role of secular warming trend in the variations of global land SAT for 1901–2016.Less than one-third of annual SAT variations were contributed by the warming trend over large parts of the globe generally.The ratios were up to two-thirds over eastern South America,parts of South Africa and the regions around the southwestern Mediterranean and Sunda islands where the absolute warming rate was moderate but the endemic species were undergoing exceptional loss of habitat.The ratios also exhibited smallest seasonal difference over these regions.Therefore,the ratio of the warming trend to the SAT variations may be a better measure compared to the absolute warming rate for the local ecoclimate.We should also pay more attention to the regions with high ratio,not only the regions with the high absolute warming rate. | Zhiyan ZUO Dong XIAO Qiong HE | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,6: | 1 |
| 11 | Detection of genomic signatures for pig hairlessness using high-density SNP data显示文摘Hair provides thermal regulation for mammals and protects the skin from wounds,bites and ultraviolet(UV)radiation,and is important in adaptation to volatile environments.Pigs in nature are divided into hairy and hairless,which provide a good model for deciphering the molecular mechanisms of hairlessness.We conducted a genomic scan for genetically differentiated regions between hairy and hairless pigs using 60K SNP data,with the aim to better understand the genetic basis for the hairless phenotype in pigs.A total of 38405 SNPs in 498 animals from 36 diverse breeds were used to detect genomic signatures for pig hairlessness by estimating between-population(FST)values.Seven diversifying signatures between Yucatan hairless pig and hairy pigs were identified on pig chromosomes(SSC)1,3,7,8,10,11 and 16,and the biological functions of two notable genes,RGS17 and RB1,were revealed.When Mexican hairless pigs were contrasted with hairypigs,strong signatures were detected on SSC1 and SSC10,which harbor two functionally plausible genes,REV3L and BAMBI.KEGG pathway analysis showed a subset of overrepresented genes involved in the T cell receptor signaling pathway,MAPK signaling pathway and the tight junction pathways.All of these pathways may be important in local adaptability of hairless pigs.The potential mechanisms underlying the hairless phenotype in pigs are reported for the first time.RB1 and BAMBI are interesting candidate genes for the hairless phenotype in Yucatan hairless and Mexico hairless pigs,respectively.RGS17,REV3L,ICOS and RASGRP1 as well as other genes involved in the MAPK and T cell receptor signaling pathways may be important in environmental adaption by improved tolerance to UV damage in hairless pigs.These findings improve our understanding of the genetic basis for inherited hairlessness in pigs. | Ying SU Yi LONG Xinjun LIAO Huashui AI Zhiyan ZHANG Bin YANG Shijun XIAO Jianhong TANG Wenshui XIN Lusheng HUANG Jun REN Nengshui DING | 2014 | Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2014,1,4: | 0 |
| 12 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 13 | Genetic dissection and genomic prediction for pork cuts and carcass morphology traits in pig显示文摘Background As pre-cut and pre-packaged chilled meat becomes increasingly popular,integrating the carcasscutting process into the pig industry chain has become a trend.Identifying quantitative trait loci(QTLs)of pork cuts would facilitate the selection of pigs with a higher overall value.However,previous studies solely focused on evaluating the phenotypic and genetic parameters of pork cuts,neglecting the investigation of QTLs influencing these traits.This study involved 17 pork cuts and 12 morphology traits from 2,012 pigs across four populations genotyped using CC1 PorcineSNP50 BeadChips.Our aim was to identify QTLs and evaluate the accuracy of genomic estimated breed values(GEBVs)for pork cuts.Results We identified 14 QTLs and 112 QTLs for 17 pork cuts by GWAS using haplotype and imputation genotypes,respectively.Specifically,we found that HMGA1,VRTN and BMP2 were associated with body length and weight.Subsequent analysis revealed that HMGA1 primarily affects the size of fore leg bones,VRTN primarily affects the number of vertebrates,and BMP2 primarily affects the length of vertebrae and the size of hind leg bones.The prediction accuracy was defined as the correlation between the adjusted phenotype and GEBVs in the validation population,divided by the square root of the trait’s heritability.The prediction accuracy of GEBVs for pork cuts varied from 0.342 to 0.693.Notably,ribs,boneless picnic shoulder,tenderloin,hind leg bones,and scapula bones exhibited prediction accuracies exceeding 0.600.Employing better models,increasing marker density through genotype imputation,and pre-selecting markers significantly improved the prediction accuracy of GEBVs.Conclusions We performed the first study to dissect the genetic mechanism of pork cuts and identified a large number of significant QTLs and potential candidate genes.These findings carry significant implications for the breeding of pork cuts through marker-assisted and genomic selection.Additionally,we have constructed the first reference populations for genomic selection of pork cuts in pigs. | Lei Xie Jiangtao Qin Lin Rao Dengshuai Cui Xi Tang Liqing Chen Shijun Xiao Zhiyan Zhang Lusheng Huang | 2023 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,6: | 0 |

| 15 | Associations of Sport Participation with Depression and Anxiety among Chinese Minority Adolescents显示文摘This study aimed to explore associations of sport participation with anxiety and depressive symptoms among Chi-nese minority adolescents.A cross-sectional study was conducted among Chinese adolescents in Tibet.A conve-nience sample method was used to select participants.Finally,1452 students completed the survey and 1421(52.10%girls,Grades 4–9,13.46±1.41 years old)adolescents met the inclusion criteria of analysis.Sociodemo-graphic variables,sport participation,depression and anxiety were evaluated by self-reported questionnaires.Among 1421 participants,80%of adolescents lived in rural area and more than fourfifths of participants had siblings.The parent’s education level of participants was mostly middle school and below.The prevalence of par-ticipating in sport more than 3 times per week was only 7%.More than one-third of adolescents reported they never engaged in sport and 36.5%of adolescents took part in sport 1–3 times per month.In comparison with participants who never engaging in sport participation,those who engaging in one to three time/month(OR=0.71%,95%CI:0.54–0.93)and more than 3 times/week(OR=0.50%,95%CI:0.32–0.79)were less likely to report severe depression symptoms.Compared with participants who never had sport participation,only those counterparts who engaged in sport more than 3 times/week had lower odds for severe anxiety(OR=0.46%,95%CI:0.29–0.73).These results indicated that engaging in sport participation was negatively associated with depres-sion and anxiety.There is an urgent need to improve the level of sport participation for Chinese minority ado-lescents,and to explore the mechanism of exercise under hypoxia on mental health. | Zhiyan Xiao Scott Doig Haowen Wu Lei Wang | 2022 | International Journal of Mental Health Promotion2022,24,5: | 0 |

| 17 | Variations of widespread extreme cold and warm days in winter over China and their possible causes显示文摘The two leading modes of winter surface air temperature(SAT) over China during 1961–2017 are a spatially consistent pattern and a north-south dipole pattern. Based on the two leading modes, the characteristics of the extreme cold and warm days in the two patterns, defined by the standard deviation larger than 1.28 or smaller than-1.28 in the time series of the two leading modes, are analyzed. With the increase of winter SAT during 1961–2017, the number of spatially consistent extreme cold days decreased and their occurrence was restricted to late December to early January, whereas the number of spatially consistent extreme warm days increased significantly in January and February. Global warming is associated with an increase in the spatially consistent extreme warm days and a decrease in spatially consistent extreme cold days, but has little relation to the sum of extreme cold and warm days of either the spatially consistent or north-south dipole pattern. The Siberian High(SH) is the main factor controlling the sum of spatially consistent extreme warm and cold days. The strong(weak) SH before(after) the1990 s corresponds to an increase(decrease) in the sum of the spatially consistent extreme warm and cold days. The occurrences of extreme south-cold-north-warm and extreme south-warm-north-cold days are related to the north-south difference of the SH.When the center of the SH is in mid-high latitudes, the extreme south-warm-north-cold(south-cold-north-warm) days occur more(less) often. During the winters of 1961–2017, the total number of extreme cold and warm days of the north-south dipole pattern changes negligibly. | 19 | Application of Machine Learning in Optimizing Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells: A Review显示文摘Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) as energy conversion devices for hydrogen energy are crucial for achieving an eco-friendly society, but their cost and performance are still not satisfactory for large-scale commercialization. Multiple physical and chemical coupling processes occur simultaneously at different scales in PEMFCs. Hence, previous studies only focused on the optimization of different components in such a complex system separately. In addition, the traditional trial-and-error method is very inefficient for achieving the performance breakthrough goal. Machine learning (ML) is a tool from the data science field. Trained based on datasets built from experimental records or theoretical simulation models, ML models can mine patterns that are difficult to draw intuitively. ML models can greatly reduce the cost of experimental attempts by predicting the target output. Serving as surrogate models, the ML approach could also greatly reduce the computational cost of numerical simulations such as first-principle or multiphysics simulations. Related reports are currently trending, and ML has been proven able to speed up tasks in this field, such as predicting active electrocatalysts, optimizing membrane electrode assembly (MEA), designing efficient flow channels, and providing stack operation strategies. Therefore, this paper reviews the applications and contributions of ML aiming at optimizing PEMFC performance regarding its potential to bring a research paradigm revolution. | 20 | Optimization of aviation adjuvants based on wettability analysis for insecticide application on maize using UAV显示文摘Adjuvants can increase the control efficacy of diseases and insect pests by changing the physico-chemical properties of pesticides.Most of the aviation spray adjuvants are versions of ground adjuvants.Maize insecticide sprays with unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV),have problems such as relatively low droplet deposition rate and poor wettability.Hence,wettability research and optimization tests for aviation spray adjuvants are needed.The present study screened 12 spray adjuvants using physico-chemical property experiments.The adjuvants were applied to improve the droplet deposition and control efficacy in maize borers controlling by UAV.The selected spray adjuvants were Po2(a hyperbranched polymer adjuvant)and VO3(a vegetable oil adjuvant).Results showed that,(1)When Po2 was added in water-dispersible granules(WGs)at volume rate of 12 L/hm2,the dynamic surface tension(DST)of WGs was decreased by 37.41%,and the maize leaves were covered by droplets 100%,the droplet deposition was increased by 104%and maize borer control was increased by 46%;(2)VO3 decreased the surface tension of ultra-low-volume(ULV)formulation by 12.02%and the maize leaves were covered by droplets 100%.The effect of VO3 on improving the droplet deposition and control efficacy at 12 L/hm2 with ULV was not significant.Thus,the addition of aviation spray adjuvant to improve the wettability of WGs significantly improved the droplet deposition and control efficacy but it had no significant effect on the ULV formulation. | Yu Zang Zhiyan Zhou Ying Zang Xiwen Luo Juan Liao Rui Ming Cancan Song Le Zi Rui Jiang Hanxiang Xiao | 2021 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,5: | 0 |
