3Depositional chemistry of chert during late Paleozoic from western Guangxi and its implication for the tectonic evolution of the Youjiang Basin显示文摘Continual deep-water sediments from the late Early Devonian to the Late Permian extended in wide areas of western Guangxi.We analyzed the major,trace,and rare earth elements of the Upper Paleozoic cherts in Badu,western Guangxi.High non-terrigenous SiO2 contents(Sinon-ter/Sibulk(%)> 80%) and pure chert components(> 70%) indicate a large extent of silicification in the Upper Paleozoic cherts,except for the Upper Devonian-Lower Carboniferous Luzhai Formation cherts,which have lower non-terrigenous SiO2 contents(avg.71.8%) and pure chert components(40%-70%).The Al/(Al+Fe+Mn) ratios and Feter/Febulk(%) values of samples from the lowest horizon of the Pingen Formation are 0.05-0.26,13.1%-14.5%,respectively,indicating hydrothermal origins.All other samples show high Al/(Al+Fe+Mn) ratios(0.39-0.81) and high Feter/Febulk(%) values(23.1%-186.8%),indicating non-hydrothermal origins.The Pingen Formation and Liujiang Formation cherts show slightly-moderately negative Ce anomalies(0.71±0.07,0.81±0.08,respectively) and higher Y/Ho ratios(33.49±1.27,36.10±2.05,respectively) than PAAS.This suggests that these cherts were deposited in the open marine basin,rather than in the intracontinental rift basin as previously assumed.The Luzhai Formation cherts may be deposited near the seamount or seafloor plateaus with no negative Ce anomalies(1.09±0.07) and no significant Y-Ho fractionation(Y/Ho=28.60±1.25).The Nandan Formation and Sidazhai Formation cherts were deposited in the open-ocean basin with moderately negative Ce anomalies(0.67±0.08,0.73±0.11,respectively) and high Y/Ho ratios(36.01±1.00,32.00±2.25,respectively).On the basis of our studies about cherts,we conclude that the Youjiang Basin originated as part of the Paleo-Tethys that controlled the depositional environments of cherts during late Paleozoic.The rift of the Youjiang Basin had occurred at least since the Early-Middle Devonian.The basin had a trend of evolving into an open-ocean basin during the Early-Middle Permian.HUANG Hu DU YuanSheng HUANG ZhiQiang YANG JiangHai HUANG HongWei XIE ChunXia HU LiSha 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,3:20

6Deep learning based classification of rock structure of tunnel face显示文摘The automated interpretation of rock structure can improve the efficiency,accuracy,and consistency of the geological risk assessment of tunnel face.Because of the high uncertainties in the geological images as a result of different regional rock types,as well as in-situ conditions(e.g.,temperature,humidity,and construction procedure),previous automated methods have limited performance in classification of rock structure of tunnel face during construction.This paper presents a framework for classifying multiple rock structures based on the geological images of tunnel face using convolutional neural networks(CNN),namely Inception-ResNet-V2(IRV2).A prototype recognition system is implemented to classify 5 types of rock structures including mosaic,granular,layered,block,and fragmentation structures.The proposed IRV2 network is trained by over 35,000 out of 42,400 images extracted from over 150 sections of tunnel faces and tested by the remaining 7400 images.Furthermore,different hyperparameters of the CNN model are introduced to optimize the most efficient algorithm parameter.Among all the discussed models,i.e.,ResNet-50,ResNet-101,and Inception-v4,Inception-ResNet-V2 exhibits the best performance in terms of various indicators,such as precision,recall,F-score,and testing time per image.Meanwhile,the model trained by a large database can obtain the object features more comprehensively,leading to higher accuracy.Compared with the original image classification method,the sub-image method is closer to the reality considering both the accuracy and the perspective of error divergence.The experimental results reveal that the proposed method is optimal and efficient for automated classification of rock structure using the geological images of the tunnel face.Jiayao Chen Tongjun Yang Dongming Zhang Hongwei Huang Yu Tian 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,1:13
7Formability of AA 2219-O sheet under quasi-static,electromagnetic dynamic,and mechanical dynamic tensile loadings显示文摘The mechanism by which electromagnetic forming(EMF)enhances the formability of metals is unclear owing to the coupling effect of multi-physics fields.In the present work,the associated formability improvement mechanisms were qualitatively categorized and illustrated.This was realized by comparing the formability of fully annealed 2219 aluminum alloy(AA 2219-O)sheet under quasi-static(QS),electromagnetic dynamic(EM),and mechanical dynamic(MD)tensile loadings.It was found that the forming limit of AA 2219-O sheet under EM tensile loading was significantly(45.4%)higher than that under QS tensile loading,and was marginally(3.7%–4.3%)higher than that under MD tensile loading.In addition,the forming limit of AA 2219-O sheet demonstrated a negative dependency on the strain rate within the range of the dynamic tensile tests conducted.The deformation conditions common to EM and MD tensile loadings were responsible for the significant formability improvement compared with QS tensile loading.In particular,the inertial effect was dominant.The different deformation conditions that distinguish EM tensile loading from MD tensile loading resulted in the marginal improvement in formability.This was caused by the absence of a sustaining contact force at the later deformation stage and the lower strain rate.The body force exerted little influence on the formability improvement,and the thermal effect under the two dynamic tensile loadings was negligible.Hongliang Su Liang Huang Jianjun Li Wang Xiao Hui Zhu Fei Feng Hongwei Li Siliang Yan 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,11:13
8Experiment on surface charge distribution of fine sediment显示文摘Surface charge distribution of particles is the fundamental problem for adsorption and desorption between sediment and contaminant. In this paper, we take quartz sand for example to measure its micro-morphology and surface charge distribution using the phase mode of the electrical force microscope. Then the statistical relation of micro-morphology and surface charge distribution is obtained. Results show that quartz sand possesses complex surface morphology, which has great impact on the charge distribution. Positive and negative charges mostly concentrate on the saddle, convex and concave parts of the surface, while distribute less in the groove, ridge and flat parts. 10Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 11The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 12First mass measurement of short-lived nuclides at HIRFL-CSR显示文摘Recent commissioning of the HIRFL-CSR has demonstrated its ability to perform direct mass measurement for short-lived nuclides. Projectile fragments produced by the 78Kr ions at 481.88 MeV/u were separated with the new radioactive beam line in Lanzhou (RIBLL2), and injected into and stored in the experimental storage ring (CSRe). By operating the CSRe as an isochronous mass spectrometry, a typical mass resolution around 2.0×10?5 has been achieved. The masses for 63Ge, 65As and 67Se were measured for the first time. The measured masses are compared with theoretical predictions and the location of the proton drip-line for As isotopes is discussed. 16Deformation behavior of non-rigid airships in wind tunnel tests显示文摘Deformation behavior of non-rigid airships in wind tunnel tests is studied by considering three factors, including internal pressure, flow velocity and angle of attack. Fiber Bragg grating strain sensors are used to measure the deformation of non-rigid airships. Wind tunnel tests in the case of different flow velocities and angles of attack are conducted. The measurement results reveal that the airship deformation is in proportion to internal pressure. For the tensile region,the airship deformation is in proportion to flow velocity. 17Leakage performance of floating ring seal in cold/hot state for aero-engine显示文摘Rotating experimental investigations were carried out to study the oil sealing capability of two different floating ring seals in cold/hot state for aero-engine. High-speed Floating Ring Seal(HFRS) is a seal with the inner diameter of 83.72 mm and maximum speed of 38000 r/min, and Low-speed Floating Ring Seal(LFRS) is another seal with the inner diameter of 40.01 mm and maximum speed of 18000 r/min. In hot state, sealing air with the temperature of 371 K and oil with the temperature of 343 K was employed to model the working conditions of an aero-engine. Comparisons between floating ring seal and labyrinth seal were done to inspect the leakage performance.More attention was paid to the critical pressure ratio where the oil leakage began. Results show that the critical pressure ratio in cold state is obviously larger than that in hot state for both seals. An underlying sealing mechanism for floating ring seal is clarified by the fluid film, which closely associates with the dimensionless parameter of clearance over rotating diameter(2 c/Dr). Another fantastic phenomenon is that the leakage coefficient in hot state, not the leakage magnitude, is unexpectedly larger than that in cold state. 18Promoting ring-opening efficiency for suppressing toxic intermediates during photocatalytic toluene degradation via surface oxygen vacancies显示文摘Aromatic ring-opening process is well recognized as the rate-determining step for catalytic toluene degradation. In photocatalytic toluene degradation, the toxic intermediates w让h harmful effects may be generated. To clarify the precise reaction mechanism and control the toxic intermediates generation, a closely combined in situ DRIFTS and DFT calculation is utilized to address these important issues. We construct the BiOCl w让h oxygen vacancies (OVs) and reveal the structure of OVs. The defect level caused by oxygen vacancies could promote the light adsorption and charge separation, which further boosts the activation of ring-opening species and enhances the generation process of free radicals. The reaction energy barriers of four possible ring-opening processes on defective BiOCl (OVBOC) are all declined in comparison with perfect BiOCl (BOC). The existence of oxygen vacancies could smooth the ratedetermining step so the ring-opening efficiency of photocatalytic toluene degradation is highly increased. Most importantly, the methyl species would be further oxidized and tend to open the benzene-ring at benzoic acid on BOC while the ring would be broken at the benzyl alcohol on OVBOC. These results indicate that the toluene degradation pathway is shortened via the surface OVs, which enables the production of radicals with high oxidation capability for the accelerated chain scission of the ring-opening intermediates. Finally, the efficiency of the key ring-opening process could be enormously improved and toxic intermediates are effectively restrained. 19The gut microbial metabolite, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid, alleviates hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury via mitigation of macrophage pro-inflammatory activity in mice显示文摘Hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury(HIRI) is a serious complication that occurs following shock and/or liver surgery. Gut microbiota and their metabolites are key upstream modulators of development of liver injury. Herein, we investigated the potential contribution of gut microbes to HIRI.Ischemia/reperfusion surgery was performed to establish a murine model of HIRI. 16 S r RNA gene sequencing and metabolomics were used for microbial analysis. Transcriptomics and proteomics analysis were employed to study the host cell responses. Our results establish HIRI was significantly increased when surgery occurred in the evening(ZT12, 20:00) when compared with the morning(ZT0, 08:00);however, antibiotic pretreatment reduced this diurnal variation. The abundance of a microbial metabolite3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid was significantly higher in ZT0 when compared with ZT12 in the gut and this compound significantly protected mice against HIRI. Furthermore, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid suppressed the macrophage pro-inflammatory response in vivo and in vitro. This metabolite inhibits histone deacetylase activity by reducing its phosphorylation. Histone deacetylase inhibition suppressed macrophage pro-inflammatory activation and diminished the diurnal variation of HIRI. Our findings revealed a novel protective microbial metabolite against HIRI in mice. 20Highly enhanced visible-light photocatalytic NOx purification and conversion pathway on self-structurally modified g-C-3N4 nanosheets显示文摘The unmodified graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_3N_4) suffers from low photocatalytic activity because of the unfavourable structure.In the present work,we reported a simple self-structural modification strategy to optimize the microstructure of g-C_3N_4 and obtained graphene-like g-C_3N_4 nanosheets with porous structure.In contrast to traditional thermal pyrolysis preparation of g-C_3N_4,the present thermal condensation was improved via pyrolysis of thiourea in an alumina crucible without a cover,followed by secondary heat treatment.The popcorn-like formation and layer-by-layer thermal exfoliation of graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 was proposed to explain the formation mechanism.The photocatalytic removal performance of both NO and NO_2 with the graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 for was significantly enhanced by selfstructural modification.Trapping experiments and in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS) measurement were conducted to detect the active species during photocatalysis and the conversion pathway of g-C_3N_4 photocatalysis for NO_x purification was revealed.The photocatalytic activity of graphene-like porous g-C_3N_4 was highly enhanced due to the improved charge separation and increased oxidation capacity of the ·O_2^- radicals and holes.This work could not only provide a novel self-structural modification for design of highly efficient photocatalysts,but also offer new insights into the mechanistic understanding of g-C_3N_4 photocatalysis.Yuhan Li Yanjuan Sun Wingkei Ho Yuxin Zhang Hongwei Huang Qiang Cai Fan Dong 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,10:7
