Grape Seed Proanthocyanidin Extract Alleviates Arsenic-induced Oxidative Reproductive Toxicity in Male Mice显示文摘Objective To determine the ability of grape seed proanthocyanidin extract(GSPE) in alleviating arsenic-induced reproductive toxicity. Methods Sixty male Kunming mice received the following treatments by gavage: normal saline solution(control); arsenic trioxide(ATO; 4 mg/kg); GSPE(400 mg/kg); ATO+GSPE(100 mg/kg); ATO+GSPE(200 mg/kg) and ATO+GSPE(400 mg/kg). Thereafter, the mice were sacrificed and weighed, and the testis was examined for pathological changes. Nuclear factor(erythroid-derived 2)-like 2(Nrf2), heme oxygenase 1(HO1), glutathione S-transferase(GST), NAD(P)H dehydrogenase, and quinone 1(NQO1) expression in the testis was detected by real-time PCR. Superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione(GSH), total antioxidative capability(T-AOC), malondialdehyde(MDA), 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-OHd G), and reproductive indexes were analyzed. Results ATO-treated mice showed a significantly decreased sperm count and testis somatic index and activity levels of SOD, GSH, and T-AOC than control group. Compared to the ATO-treated group, ATO +GSPE group showed recovery of the measured parameters. Mice treated with ATO+high-dose GSPE showed the highest level of m RNA expression of Nrf2, HO, NQO1, and GST. Conclusion GSPE alleviates oxidative stress damage in mouse testis by activating Nrf2 signaling, thus counteracting arsenic-induced reproductive toxicity. | LI Shu Gang DING Yu Song NIU Qiang XU Shang Zhi PANG Li Juan MA Ru Lin JING Ming Xia FENG Gang Ling LIU Jia Ming GUO Shu Xia | 2015 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2015,28,4: | 14
Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes. | MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 无 | 2020 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12: | 8

IFITM3 inhibits virus-triggered induction of type I interferon by mediating autophagosome-dependent degradation of IRF3显示文摘Interferon-induced transmembrane protein 3 (IFITM3) is a restriction factor that can be induced by viral infectionand interferons (IFNs). It inhibits the entry and replication of many viruses, which are independent of receptorusage but dependent on processes that occur in endosomes. In this study, we demonstrate that IFITM3 playsimportant roles in regulating the RNA-virus-triggered production of IFN-β in a negative-feedback manner.Overexpression of IFITM3 inhibited Sendai virus-triggered induction of IFN-β, whereas knockdown of IFITM3 hadthe opposite effect. We also showed that IFITM3 was constitutively associated with IRF3 and regulated thehomeostasis of IRF3 by mediating the autophagic degradation of IRF3. These findings suggest a novel inhibitoryfunction of IFITM3 on the RNA-virus-triggered production of type I IFNs and cellular antiviral responses. | Li-Qun Jiang Tian Xia Yun-Hong Hu Ming-Shun Sun Shuang Yan Cao-Qi Lei Hong-Bing Shu Ji-Hua Guo Yu Liu | 2018 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,9: | 4
New determination of the position of the pulsar B0329+54 with Chinese VLBI network显示文摘We present the first successful CVN (Chinese VLBI Network) phase-referencing observation of the pulsar B0329+54 on October 16, 2008 in S band. A new background source, J0347+5557, 2.5° away from the pulsar was employed as a position reference, which is closer to the pulsar and better for the ‘nodding’ mode than that used in previous observations. The position by fitting image of the pulsar relative to the calibrator is accurately determined at the level of tens of μas, which is comparable with the present differential VLBI astrometric accuracy, proving that CVN will be a potential powerful tool for astrometry and astrophysics.PSR B0329+54, VLBI, CVN, phase | GUO Li1*, ZHENG XingWu2, ZHANG Bo1, WANG WeiHua1, ZHENG WeiMin1, SHU FengChun1, LI JinLing1, YU Yun1, HAO LongFei3, YUAN JianPing4 & XIA Bo1 1Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai 200030, China 2Department of Astronomy, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China 3Yunnan Astronomical Observatory, National Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Kunming 650011, China 4Urumqi Astronomical Observatory, National Astronom | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,8: | 3
Personalized neoantigen pulsed dendritic cell vaccine for advanced lung cancer显示文摘Neoantigens are considered to be ultimate target of tumor immunotherapy due to their high tumor specificity and immunogenicity.Dendritic cell(DCs)vaccines based on neoantigens have exciting effects in treatment of some malignant tumors and are a promising therapeutic modality.Lung cancer is a lethal disease with the highest morbidity and mortality rate in the world.Despite the rapid development of targeted therapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors for lung cancer in recent years, their efficacy is still unsatisfactory overall. Therefore, there is an urgent unmet clinical need for lung cancer treatment. Here,we attempted to treat lung cancer using a personalized neoantigen peptide-pulsed autologous DC vaccine and conducted a single-arm,2 medical centers, pilot study initiated by the investigator(ChiCTR-ONC 16009100,NCT02956551).The patients enrolled were patients with heavily treated metastatic lung cancer.Candidate neoantigens were derived from whole-exome sequencing and RNA sequencing of fresh biopsy tissues as well as bioinformatics analysis.A total of 12 patients were enrolled in this study.A total of 85 vaccine treatments were administered with a median value of 5 doses/person(range:3-14 doses/person).In total,12-30 peptide-based neoantigens were selected for each patient.AIl treatment-related adverse events were grade 1-2 and there were no delays in dosing due to toxic effects. The objective effectiveness rate was 25%;the disease control rate was 75%;the median progression-free survival was 5.5 months and the median overall survival was 7.9 months. This study provides new evidence for neoantigen vaccine therapy and new therapeutic opportunities for lung cancer treatment. | Zhenyu Ding Qing Li Rui Zhang Li Xie Yang shu Song Gao Peipei Wang Xiaoqing Su Yun Qin Yuelan Wang Juemin Fang Zhongzheng Zhu Xuyang Xia Guochao Wei Hui Wang Hong Qian Xianling Guo Zhibo Gao Yu Wang Yuquan Wei Qing Xu Heng Xu Li Yang | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,2: | 3

Relationship analysis between September precipitation in western China and 700 hPa wind field in East Asia显示文摘The regional wind index influencing September precipitation in western China has been defined using the 700 hPa u and v components of NCAR/NCEP reanalysis data of 1961 to 2006. There are three regional wind field indices: southwest, southeast, and north, and these indices reflect the change of East Asian monsoon. The relationship between the indices was studied, and results show that they not only have a close relationship, but also have independence. Moreover, there is an obvious relationship between the wind indices and the autumn in particular the September precipitation in western China. The effect of wind indices on rain occurrence is most different: the influenced area of the southwest wind index is larger than that of the southeast wind index, and the southwest wind index is a controlling factor on autumn precipitation in western China. The weakening of southwest wind is the main cause resulting in reduction of autumn precipitation on the east side of the Tibetan Plateau. | ShaoYong Chen Quan Xia JunTin Guo Shu Lin | 2011 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2011,3,5: | 1
Pressure control as an effective method to modulate aggregative growth of nanoparticles显示文摘Recent studies suggested that the interactions between particles can induce aggregative nucleation and growth processes beyond those predicted by the traditional LaMer model of nanoparticle formation, but their nucleation and growth processes are still unclear. Here,we report a simple way to control the interaction between nanoparticles by manipulating the oleylamine(OAm)adsorbed on the surface of the nanoparticles. The size distributions of Ag nanoparticles produced at different reaction pressures were monitored as evidence for aggregative growth. From these kinetic data, the aggregative nucleation rate(C)of primary Ag nanoparticles under a 0.01 MPa was demonstrated to be faster than that under atmospheric pressure. This leads to a higher uniformity of Ag nanoparticles in a shorter time(10 min)than that achievable with previous methods.Furthermore,Ag nanoparticles supported on TiO2 exhibited a remarkable performance in the catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol(4-NP).After 4 min,4-NP was completely reduced into4-aminophenol(4-AP). | Jian Xu Yuan Shu Qian Xia Yang-Long Guo Guo-Jun Zhou Wang-Cheng Zhan | 2021 | Rare Metals2021,40,7: | 0

| 20 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.
