2Andrographolide sulfonate ameliorates lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury in mice by down-regulating MAPK and NF-κB pathways显示文摘Acute lung injury(ALI) or acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) is a severe, lifethreatening medical condition characterized by widespread inflammation in the lungs, and is a significant source of morbidity and mortality in the patient population. New therapies for the treatment of ALI are desperately needed. In the present study, we examined the effect of andrographolide sulfonate, a water-soluble form of andrographolide(trade name: Xi-Yan-Ping Injection), on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced ALI and inflammation. Andrographolide sulfonate was administered by intraperitoneal injection to mice with LPS-induced ALI. LPS-induced airway inflammatory cell recruitment and lung histological alterations were significantly ameliorated by andrographolide sulfonate. Protein levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) and serum were reduced by andrographolide sulfonate administration. m RNA levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in lung tissue were also suppressed. Moreover, andrographolide sulfonate markedly suppressed the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) as well as p65 subunit of nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB). In summary, these results suggest that andrographolide sulfonate ameliorated LPS-induced ALI in mice by inhibiting NF-κB and MAPK-mediated inflammatory responses. 4OsSIDP366,a DUF1644 gene,positively regulates responses to drought and salt stresses in rice显示文摘Domain of unknown function 1644(DUF1644) is a Rhighly conserved amino acid sequence motif present only in plants. Analysis of expression data of the family of DUF1644-containing genes indicated that they may regulate responses to abiotic stress in rice. Here we present our discovery of the role of Os SIDP366, a member of the DUF1644 gene family, in response to drought and salinity stresses in rice. Transgenic rice plants overexpressing Os SIDP366 showed enhanced drought and salinity tolerance and reduced water loss as compared to that in the control, whereas plants with downregulated Os SIDP366 expression levels using RNA interference(RNAi) were more sensitive to salinity and drought treatments. The sensitivity to abscisic acid(ABA)treatment was not changed in Os SIDP366-overexpressing plants, and Os SIDP366 expression was not affected in ABAdeficient mutants. Subcellular localization analysis revealed that Os SIDP366 is presented in the cytoplasmic foci that colocalized with protein markers for both processing bodies(PBs) and stress granules(SGs) in rice protoplasts. Digital gene expression(DGE) profile analysis indicated that stress-related genes such as SNAC1, Os HAK5 and PRs were upregulated in Os SIDP366-overexpressing plants. 10Tracking-positioning of sound speed profiles and moving acoustic source in shallow water显示文摘An ensemble Kalman filter(EnKF) approach is proposed to perform sequential tracking of water column sound speed profile(SSP) using a moving acoustic source. First,the SSPs are discretized in depth and range, and are expressed by the empirical orthogonal functions(EOFs). Second, the acoustic source state information and the first three orders of EOF coefficients are expressed as the state variable, and the acoustic field information received by the vertical line array are the measured values. Successively, the state variables and measured values are used to establish the state-measure model. Last, the EnKF is utilized to track the state variables. The simulation results show that the root mean square error of SSP and the absolute error of source are all small, and thus the acoustic source tracking-positioning has high accuracy. Moreover, increasing the number of sample collection, the signal-to-noise ratio and the number of receiving elements can improve the tracking-positioning results. 11Dendrocalamus latiflorus and its component rutin exhibit glucose-lowering activities by inhibiting hepatic glucose production via AKT activation显示文摘The potential medicinal value of Ma bamboo(Dendrocalamus latiflorus), one of the most popular and economically important bamboo species in China, has been underestimated. In the present study, we found that D. latiflorus leaf extract(DLE) reduced fasting blood glucose levels, body weight,and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol with low liver toxicity in db/db mice. In addition, gene expression profiling was performed and pathway enrichment analysis showed that DLE affected metabolic pathways.Importantly, DLE activated the AKT signaling pathway and reduced glucose production by downregulating glucose-6-phosphatase(G6 PC) and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1(PCK1) expression. Moreover, network pharmacology analysis identified rutin as an active component in DLE through targeting insulin growth factor 1 receptor(IGF1 R), an upstream signaling transducer of AKT. 14Layered MoS2@graphene functionalized with nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots as an enhanced electrochemical hydrogen evolution catalyst显示文摘A novel three-dimensional (3D) layered MoS2@graphene functionalized with nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots (MoS2@N-GQDs-GR) composites as an enhanced electrochemical hydrogen evolution catalyst. The few layered MoS2 nanoflowers supported on N-GQDs-GR surface were elaborately fabricated by one-pot hydrothermal method, which MoS2 and N-GQDs-GR exist in a bonding manner of Mo-N. In addition, due to the layered MoS2 sheet edge exposes more hydrogen evolution active sites and N-GQDs-GR have high conductivity, the composites exhibit prominent electrocatalytic activity with a low overpotential 99 mV, a small Tafel slope 49.3 mV/dec. 15Are Contributions from Chinese Physicists Undercited?显示文摘Purpose:In this work,we want to examine whether or not there are some scientific fields to which contributions from Chinese scholars have been un der or over cited.Design/methodology/approach:We do so by comparing the number of received citations and the IOF of publications in each scientific field from each country.The IOF is calculated from applying the modified closed system input–output analysis(MCSIOA)to the citation network.MCSIOA is a PageRank-like algorithm which means here that citations from the more influential subfields are weighted more towards the IOF.Findings:About 40% of subfields in physics in China are undercited,meaning that their net influence ranks are higher(better)than the direct rank,while about 75% of subfields in the USA and German are undercited.Research limitations:Only APS data is analyzed in this work.The expected citation influence is assumed to be represented by the IOF,and this can be wrong.Practical implications:MCSIOA provides a measure of net influences and according to that measure.Overall,Chinese physicists’publications are more likely overcited rather than being undercited.Originality/value:The issue of under or over cited has been analyzed in this work using MCSIOA.Jinzhong Guo Xiaoling Liu Liying Yang Jinshan Wu 2019Journal of Data and Information Science2019,4,4:3

18Practical Polar Code Construction For Degraded Multiple-Relay Networks显示文摘In this paper, based on the characteristics of polar codes, a new decode-and-forward strategy called generalized partial information relaying protocol is proposed for degraded multiple-relay networks with orthogonal receiver components(MRNORCs). In such a protocol, with the help of partial information from previous nodes, each relay node tries to recover the received source message and re-encodes part of the decoded message for transmission to satisfy the decoding requirements for the following relay node or the destination node. In order to construct practical polar codes, the nested structures are developed based on this protocol and the information sets corresponding to the partial messages forwarded are also calculated. The proposed scheme is proved to be capable of achieving the theoretical capacity of the degraded MRN-ORCs while still retains the low-complexity feature of polar codes. We perform simulations to testify the practicability of the proposed scheme and compare polar codes by using successive-cancellation list decoder(SCLD) with traditional low-density parity-check(LDPC) codes. 20Variation induced by DNA rearrangement in a transgenic Bt+CpTI cotton strain显示文摘In the development, of transgenic Bt + CpTI cotton cultivars, one male and female sterile mutant has been found in a homozygous T4 strain in our laboratory. The mutant plant, as well as its leaves, buds and flowers, is only 1/2-1/3 as large as that of the wild transgenic Bt + CpTI bivalant cotton plants. Cytological observation found that the chromosome number of the mutant is 2n=52; however, there are 4-8 univalents observed in meiosis I of pollen mother cells. Laboratory bioassay indicated that the mutant was highly resistant to bollworm as the wild plants. PCRamplification revealed that Bt and CpTl genes in the mutant were still intactly inserted. However, small deletion of flanked area had been observed in the mutant by Southern blotting analysis. So it is proposed that the mutant pheno-type might result from either the DNA deletion or T-DNA transferring in plant genome.
