1Relocation of the 10 March 2011 Yingjiang,China,earthquake sequence and its tectonic implications显示文摘An earthquake with MS5.8 occurred on 10 March 2011 in Yingjiang county,western Yunnan,China.This earthquake caused 25 deaths and over 250 injuries.In order to better understand the seismotectonics in the region,we collected the arrival time data from the Yunnan seismic observational bulletins during 1 January to 25 March 2011,and precisely hand-picked the arrival times from high-quality seismograms that were recorded by the temporary seismic stations deployed by our Institute of Crustal Dynamics,China Earthquake Administration.Using these arrival times,we relocated all the earthquakes including the Yingjiang mainshock and its aftershocks using the double-difference relocation algorithm.Our results show that the relocated earthquakes dominantly occurred along the ENE direction and formed an upside-down bow-shaped structure in depth.It is also observed that after the Yingjiang mainshock,some aftershocks extended toward the SSE over about 10 km.These results may indicate that the Yingjiang mainshock ruptured a conjugate fault system consisting of the ENE trending Da Yingjiang fault and a SSE trending blind fault.Such structural features could contribute to severely seismic hazards during the moderate-size Yingjiang earthquake.Jianshe Lei Guangwei Zhang Furen Xie Yuan Li Youjin Su Lifang Liu Honghu Ma Junwei Zhang 2012Earthquake Science2012,25,1:35
2Microstructure and formation mechanism of titanium matrix composites coating on Ti-6Al-4V by laser cladding显示文摘Laser cladding experiments were done on a 5-kW continuous wave CO2 laser to synthesize TiC and TiB rein- forced titanium matrix composite coatings on Ti-6Al-4V alloy with a mixture of Ti and B4C precursor powder. The ther- modynamics of the reactions were calculated and analyzed. The microstructure and phase evolution of TiB and TiC com- posites were investigated. The results showed that the chemical reaction between Ti and B4C would release much heat, and these compounds, TiC, TiB, and small amount of TiB2, can be formed on the surface of Ti-6Al-4V alloy if the supplied en- ergy is sufficient to excite the reaction among the initial products. A good metallurgical bond between the coating and the substrate can be achieved. 4Blocking FSH inhibits hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis and reduces serum cholesterol显示文摘Menopause is associated with dyslipidemia and an increased risk of cardio-cerebrovascular disease.The classic view assumes that the underlying mechanism of dyslipidemia is attributed to an insufficiency of estrogen.In addition to a decrease in estrogen, circulating follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)levels become elevated at menopause.In this study,we find that blocking FSH reduces serum cholesterol via inhibiting hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis.First,epidemiological results show that the serum FSH levels are positively correlated with the serum total cholesterol levels,even after adjustment by considering the effects of serum estrogen,in addition,the prevalence of hypercholesterolemia is significantly higher in peri-menopausal women than that in premenopausal women.Furthermore,we generated a mouse model of FSH elevation by intraperitoneally injecting exogenous FSH into ovariectomized (OVX)mice,in which a normal level of estrogen (E2)was maintained by exogenous supplementation. Consistently,the results indicate that FSH,independent of estrogen,increases the serum cholesterol level in this mouse model. 5Photoperiodism dynamics during the domestication and improvement of soybean显示文摘Soybean(Glycine max) is a facultative short-day plant with a sensitive photoperiod perception and reaction system, which allows it to adjust its physiological state and gene regulatory networks to seasonal and diurnal changes in environmental conditions. In the past few decades, soybean cultivation has spread from East Asia to areas throughout the world. Biologists and breeders must now confront the challenge of understanding the molecular mechanism of soybean photoperiodism and improving agronomic traits to enable this important crop to adapt to geographical and environmental changes. In this review, we summarize the genetic regulatory network underlying photoperiodic responses in soybean. Genomic and genetic studies have revealed that the circadian clock, in conjunction with the light perception pathways, regulates photoperiodic flowering. Here, we provide an annotated list of 844 candidate flowering genes in soybean, with their putative biological functions. Many photoperiod-related genes have been intensively selected during domestication and crop improvement. 7Essential roles of exosome and circRNA_101093 on ferroptosis desensitization in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background:Resistance to ferroptosis,a regulated cell death caused by irondependent excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides,has recently been linked to lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD).Intracellular antioxidant systems are required for protection against ferroptosis.The purpose of the present studywas to investigate whether and how extracellular system desensitizes LUAD cells to ferroptosis.Methods:Established human lung fibroblasts MRC-5,WI38,and human LUAD H1650,PC9,H1975,H358,A549,and H1299 cell lines,tumor and matched normal adjacent tissues of LUAD,and plasma from healthy individuals and LUAD patients were used in this study.Immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting were used to analyze protein expression,and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR was used to analyze mRNA expression.Cell viability,cell death,and the lipid reactive oxygen species generationwere measured to evaluate the responses to ferroptosis.Exosomes were observed using transmission electron microscope.The localization of arachidonic acid(AA)was detected using click chemistry labeling followed by confocal microscopy.Interactions between RNAs and proteins were detected using RNA pull-down,RNA immunoprecipitation and photoactivatable ribonucleoside-enhanced crosslinking and immunoprecipitation methods.Proteomic analysis was used to investigate RNA-regulated proteins,and metabolomic analysis was performed to analyze metabolites.Cellderived xenograft,patient-derived xenograft,cell-implanted intrapulmonary LUAD mouse models and plasma/tissue specimens from LUAD patients were used to validate the molecular mechanism.Results:Plasma exosome from LUAD patients specifically reduced lipid peroxidation and desensitized LUAD cells to ferroptosis.A potential explanation is that exosomal circRNA_101093(cir93)maintained an elevation in intracellular cir93 in LUAD to modulate AA,a poly-unsaturated fatty acid critical for ferroptosisassociated increased peroxidation in the plasma membrane.Mechanistically,cir93 interacted with and increased fatty acid-binding protein 3(FABP3),which transported AA and facilitated its reaction with taurine.Thus,global AA was reduced,whereas N-arachidonoyl taurine(NAT,the product of AA and taurine)was induced.Notably,the role of NAT in suppressing AA incorporation into the plasma membrane was also revealed.In pre-clinical in vivo models,reducing exosome improved ferroptosis-based treatment.Conclusion:Exosome and cir93 are essential for desensitizing LUAD cells to ferroptosis,and blocking exosome may be helpful for future LUAD treatment.Xiao Zhang Yunhua Xu Lifang Ma Keke Yu Yongjie Niu Xin Xu Yi Shi Susu Guo Xiangfei Xue Yikun Wang Shiyu Qiu Jiangtao Cui Hong Wang Xiaoting Tian Yayou Miao Fanyu Meng Yongxia Qiao Yongchun Yu Jiayi Wang 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,4:10

9The Post-meiotic Deficicent Anther1 (PDA1) gene is required for post-meiotic anther development in rice显示文摘To understand the molecular mechanism of male reproductive development in the model crop rice,we isolated a complete male sterile mutant post-meiotic deficient anther1 (pda1) from a γ-ray-treated rice mutant library.Genetic analysis revealed that the pda1 mutant was controlled by a recessive nucleus gene.The pda1 mutant anther seemed smaller with white appearance.Histological analysis demonstrated that the pda1 mutant anther undergoes normal early tapetum development without obvious altered meiosis.However,the pda1 mutant displayed obvious defects in postmeiotic tapetal development,abnormal degeneration occurred in the tapetal cells at stage 9 of anther development.Also we observed abnormal lipidic Ubisch bodies from the tapetal layer of the pda1 mutant,causing no obvious pollen exine formation.RT-PCR analysis indicated that the expression of genes involved in anther development including GAMYB,OsC4 and Wax-deficient anther1 (WDA1) was greatly reduced in the pda1 mutant anther.Using map-based cloning approach,the PDA1 gene was finely mapped between two markers HLF610 and HLF627 on chromosome 6 using 3,883 individuals of F2 population.The physical distance between HLF610 and HLF627 was about 194 kb.This work suggests that PDA1 is required for post-meiotic tapetal development and pollen/microspore formation in rice.Lifang Hu Hexin Tan Wanqi Liang Dabing Zhang 2010Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,1:8
10Glycerol aerobic oxidation to glyceric acid over Pt/hydrotalcite catalysts at room temperature显示文摘Glycerol(GLY) aerobic oxidation in an aqueous solution is one of the most prospective pathways in biomass transformation, where the supported catalysts based on noble metals(mainly Au, Pd, Pt) are most commonly employed. Herein, Pt nanoparticles supported on rehydrated MgxAl1-hydrotalcite(denoted as re-MgxAl1-LDH-Pt) were prepared via impregnation-reduction method followed by an in situ rehydration process, which showed high activity and selectivity towards GLY oxidation to produce glyceric acid(GLYA) at room temperature. The metal-support interfacial structure and catalyst basicity were modulated by changing the Mg/Al molar ratio of the hydrotalcite precursor, and the optimal performance was achieved on re-Mg6Al1-LDH-Pt with a GLY conversion of 87.6% and a GLYA yield of 58.6%, which exceeded the traditional activated carbon and oxide supports. A combinative study on structural characterizations(XANES, CO-FTIR spectra, and benzoic acid titration) proves that a higher Mg/Al molar ratio promotes the formation of positively charged Ptd+species at metal-support interface, which accelerates bond cleavage of a-C–H and improves catalytic activity. Moreover, a higher Mg/Al molar ratio provides a stronger basicity of support that contributes to the oxidation of terminal-hydroxyl and thus enhances the selectivity of GLYA. 13Natural continuous influent nitrifier immigration effects on nitrification and the microbial community of activated sludge systems显示文摘Two sequencing batch reactors(SBRs) were operated for 100 days under aerobic conditions,with one being fed with unsterilized municipal wastewater(USBR), and the other fed with sterilized municipal wastewater(SSBR). Respirometric assays and fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) results show that active nitrifiers were present in the unsterilized influent municipal wastewater. The maximum ammonia utilization rate(AUR) and nitrite utilization rate(NUR) of the unsterilized influent were 0.32 ± 0.12 mg NH4+-N/(L·hr) and0.71 ± 0.18 mg NO2--N/(L·hr). Based on the maximum utilization rates, the estimated seeding intensity for the ammonia oxidizing bacteria(AOB) and nitrite oxidizing bacteria(NOB) of the USBR was 0.08 g AOB/(g AOB·day) and 0.20 g NOB/(g NOB·day) respectively. The fraction of nitrifiers/total bacteria in the influent was 5.35% ± 2.1%, the dominant AOB was Nitrosomonas spp., Nitrosococcus mobilis hybridizated with Nsm156, and the dominant NOB was Nitrospira hybridizated with Ntspa662. The influent nitrifiers potentially seeded the activated sludge of the bioreactor and hence demonstrated a mitigation of the acclimatization times and instability during start-up and early operation. The AUR and NUR in the USBR was 15% and 13% higher than the SSBR respectively during the stable stage, FISH results showed that nitrifiers population especially the Nitrospira in the USBR was higher than that in the SSBR. 14Hsa-miR-1246, hsa-miR-320a and hsa-miR-196b-5p inhibitors can reduce the cytotoxicity of Ebola virus glycoprotein in vitro显示文摘Ebola virus(EBOV)causes a highly lethal hemorrhagic fever syndrome in humans and has been associated with mortality rates of up to 91%in Zaire,the most lethal strain.Though the viral envelope glycoprotein(GP)mediates widespread inflammation and cellular damage,these changes have mainly focused on alterations at the protein level,the role of microRNAs(miRNAs)in the molecular pathogenesis underlying this lethal disease is not fully understood.Here,we report that the miRNAs hsa-miR-1246,hsa-miR-320a and hsa-miR-196b-5p were induced in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)following expression of EBOV GP.Among the proteins encoded by predicted targets of these miRNAs,the adhesion-related molecules tissue factor pathway inhibitor(TFPI),dystroglycan1(DAG1)and the caspase 8 and FADD-like apoptosis regulator(CFLAR)were significantly downregulated in EBOV GP-expressing HUVECs.Moreover,inhibition of hsa-miR-1246,hsa-miR-320a and hsa-miR-196b-5p,or overexpression of TFPI,DAG1 and CFLAR rescued the cell viability that was induced by EBOV GP.Our results provide a novel molecular basis for EBOV pathogenesis and may contribute to the development of strategies to protect against future EBOV pandemics.SHENG MiaoMiao ZHONG Ying CHEN Yang DU JianChao JU XiangWu ZHAO Chen ZHANG GuiGen ZHANG LiFang LIU KangTai YANG Ning XIE Peng LI DangSheng ZHANG Michael Q. 17Comprehensive reform of community health service in east,middle and west regions of China:from patients’perspective显示文摘Objectives:To analyze the satisfaction of patients with community health service(CHS)and the changes of the CHS delivered before and after the new health reform in different regions of China,and to put forward relevant policy recommendations for CHS development.Methods:Twelve community health centers were selected by random sampling in each of the eight typical cities in the east,middle and west regions of China.Questionnaire survey was conducted among patients visiting these institutions during daily work hours.Results:The proportions of the participants who stated that the medical environment,service attitude and medical skills of the doctors were improved were higher in the west region than those of the east and middle regions;but the percentage of patients who held that the drug price had lowered was higher in the east region than those of the middle and west region,the differences were of statistical significance(P<0.0125).The patients’satisfaction rates with medical environment,service attitude,and technical skills of the medical staff in the west region were 88.9%,91.5%and 81.6%respectively,which were higher than those in the east and middle regions.In the east region,the satisfaction rate with the reimbursement for this visit was 58.5%,which was highest among the three regions;in the west region,patients’satisfaction rates with drug types and preventive care were 51.5%and 65.9%,respectively,which was significantly higher than those in the east and middle regions(P<0.0125).As recommended by the participants,the top three aspects of health services that need to be improved were drug type and quality(25.3%),drug prices(21.8%)and technical skills(18.2%)in the east region;infrastructure(28.2%),drug prices(21.8%)and drug types and quality(21.2%)in the middle region;infrastructure(30.8%),drug types and quality(28.1%)and reimbursement(27.9%)in the west region.Conclusions:The comprehensive CHS reform should take the opinions of patients into account;essential drug system should be consolidated continually;and the reform of the payment system should be promoted by actively cooperating with the health insurance organizations.JIANGMEI QIN YANCHUN ZHANG LIFANG ZHANG LIQUN LIU WEI ZHOU CAILING LIU LIKUN WANG JING LI 2013Family Medicine and Community Health2013,1,2:6

20Chemical and boron isotopic compositions of tourmaline in the Longtoushan hydrothermal gold deposit, Guangxi, China:implications for gold mineralization显示文摘The Longtoushan hydrothermal gold deposit is located in the southwestern region of the Dayaoshan Uplift.Tourmaline is widespread in the Longtoushan gold deposit and is mainly distributed in the rhyolite porphyry and associated cryptoexplosive breccia. The spatial distribution of tourmaline enrichment is similar to that of the gold orebody. Feldspar has been largely replaced by tourmaline in the rhyolite porphyry and cryptoexplosive breccia.Electron microprobe analysis revealed that tourmalines in the Longtoushan deposit belong mainly to the alkali group and partly to the X-vacant group; they mostly fell in the schorl-dravite series field. Two distinct sets of dominant substitutions were observed: MgFe_(-1) and Al□(NaR2+)-1,where R = Fe, Mg. In addition, minor substitutions include(CaMg)(NaAl)_(-1) and FeAl_(-1). The calculated d11 B value for the mineralizing fluids ranged from-12.8 to-9.7%,which is typical of S-type granites, and boron-enriched fluids predominantly derived from rhyolitic melt. Part of the tourmaline from the rhyolite porphyry crystallized during the magmatic-hydrothermal stage, whereas most tourmalines from the deposit formed in the post-magmatic hydrothermal stage.
